★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After moving to Townsend, I needed to find veterinary care for my dear Hazel, who was getting up there in age. Sally and her staff did a great job initially when Hazel became suddenly sick and needed fluids which they Diagnosed immediately. she started doing better the next day and enjoyed another almost 2 years of life. Just a few weeks ago at 15+ years old and about 50 lbs she was breaking down structurally. I had to do the right thing, something we all dread, and take her in to have her put at peace. Once again, Sally and her staff made it as respectful and comfortable as you could to be with my dear Hazel 🐕 as she passed over into the next life. I chose her to have her remains cremated and returned to me, a plan that they offer. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to have Hazel returned to me in a lovely wooden box inside of a velvet bag with condolence cards, it really meant a lot 😢 thank you very much Best friends Vet in Townsend. 😊
May 30 · Jeffrey “Jeff” PingetonWe absolutely love Dr. Thurber . She is always so attentive to all my pets. I know she loves animals because of her fair prices. She listens to my concerns and is extremely knowledgeable. I also love the convenience of her ability to dispense prescriptions!!!! I recommend her to anyone who has a pet. These are our newest babies.
August 18 · April MarionStarting off I brought my rabbit to see the dr, at first we were hung up on my the older lady in the front office. Once we were able to get in contact we were seen right away. The doctor took care of my rabbit and got him back into good shape. After she seem to neglect that he had an abscess on his neck. She saw him twice for it and said “ let’s wait for it to burst then bring him back in” well it burst this past week. Made an appointment for Wednesday, then Was called morning of and was pushed to Friday afternoon. With no suggestions on what to do in the meantime to help with it or anything.now moving onto my cat that was seen twice by the dr. When we brought my cat in for the first time for a wellness visit upon arriving we warned the vet our cat was fearful of the vet and would attack if he was pushed to. We asked for an extended appointment so they could take time with out cat and not cause major stress. While at the appointment they seemed to not take time with him when trying to examine him. Just got him on the table and examined him until he was spitting hissing and attempting to bite. At that point it was agreed to have him come back to be sedated for dental work, blood work, and a nail trim. Dropping him off he was fine, a little mad nothing out of the normal. Later in the day when we were called to get him, I was informed he bit his tongue while they were sedating him with a mask…. And when we arrived to get him, he was on the worst state we have EVER seen him in. We stepped near the bag and he was spitting hissing at us. We have brought him multiple times to vets in the area for the same stuff and never have I seen him get injured or returned to us like he was fighting for his life. After we were told a 3rd party pharmacy would reach out to us so we could get a liquid sedation med to give him before visits and was never contacted. This practice needs to review training for procedures and update some of their practices. Because I know mask sedation is old school, due to other vets questioning why he was sedated like that after the fact. The front office needs some serious organization and bedside manner and to plainly not just hang up the phone when someone’s calling.
June 04 · Joseph LashombMy cat doesn’t enjoy going to the vet at all, Sally and the rest of the staff are great with her. They make the experience not so horrible for our kitty. They’re very patient and caring. Always willing to answer mine and my son’s endless questions about our cat. Pricing is very reasonable.
March 11 · Karen WilderThis is my dogs vet and their very kind, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and just simply amazing! The receptionist Naomi is awesome! Btw I attached pictures of my beautiful doggy after she got her arm/leg cleaned and wrapped💕
