Merrifield Rebecca DVM at Mt Laurel Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in New Jersey, particularly those in the Mt. Laurel area, knowing where to find comprehensive, reliable, and compassionate veterinary care is crucial. Whether you have a dog, a cat, or an exotic pet, you want a facility that can handle everything from a routine wellness exam to a life-threatening emergency, all under one roof. Mt Laurel Animal Hospital is a prominent institution in the community, providing 24/7 primary, emergency, and specialty care. The hospital is home to a large and dedicated team of professionals, including Dr. Rebecca Merrifield, DVM, who brings her long-standing passion for internal medicine and wellness care to the practice. This facility is designed to be a one-stop-shop for your pet's health, offering a wide array of services that are supported by a large and highly-skilled staff. Their mission is to serve the community by delivering the highest level of veterinary care at any time of day, every day of the year, in a family-friendly environment.
The client feedback for Mt Laurel Animal Hospital provides a complex picture of their services. One reviewer, noting a "lovely experience," mentioned the hospital as a destination for small kids, and a place to feed animals, which suggests a broader community engagement aspect of the hospital's operations, potentially including an outdoor or educational area. However, another review describes a very difficult and tragic experience involving the loss of their family cat after a major financial investment in potential surgical care. This review highlights the emotional weight of veterinary decisions, particularly in emergency situations where a client may be faced with a high-cost procedure with no guaranteed outcome. The hospital’s large scale, with over 50 doctors and more than 300 staff members, allows it to offer a vast range of services, including advanced, specialized treatments, which can be a double-edged sword for pet owners. While it provides access to cutting-edge medical options, it also means a pet owner may be faced with difficult and expensive choices. Dr. Rebecca Merrifield’s personal passion for wellness care and the human-animal bond, as noted on the hospital’s website, suggests a compassionate approach that aims to balance complex medical realities with the emotional needs of pet owners.

The hospital's ability to offer house call appointments is another highlight, providing the convenience of having a veterinarian come to your home, which is especially beneficial for pets that experience anxiety during travel or clinic visits.

August 19 · Sunieta GangaramI have been to Mount Laurel Veterinary in past. This recent visit was not very good. Upon arrival our family cat was examined. They explained to me that Milo needed to stay over. The following day he will be checked out by the surgeon. I left with $4500 down payment. Due to a mistake from the doctor and a phone call, I had to put our Milo down. They did offered a 15K+ operation. No guarantee there.I'll let everyone make their own opinion of this story
February 20 · noel deremigiVery knowledgeable and friendly staff. We arrived and checked in. Waiting area was full of patients but because we had an appointment, we only waited a couple minutes before being taken back to an exam room. The vet tech was thorough in checking the vitals and getting the background of our guinea pig. We did not wait long, after the vet tech left, for the doctor to arrive. She was also accompanied by a student and the vet tech. They all oohhed and ahhhed over our piggy which made my children more comfortable being in the exam room. The Dr. also did a thorough exam, and we discussed future plans and options of treatment. We will be returning with our pet for further exams and an ultrasound and then decide on treatment plans after we get a diagnosis. I would recommend this vet for exotic and small animals as well as cats and dogs.
February 22 · A. “BackSeatRider” W.I’ve brought now 3 dogs of mine to House Paws and I’ll continue to bring all of my pets here. The staff is so helpful, attentive, and caring. The veterinarians are all so gentle, understanding and patient when my dogs have been more nervous. They always take good care of my dogs! I also love being able to text them when things come up and I just want a professional’s opinion. I recommend House Paws to all pet parents!
June 15 · Zoe ThompsonWill never come to this place ever again. So how would you feel if your new puppy wasn’t walking right and you panic because you love animals and you just want to make sure he’s ok. As we are waiting in one of the dog rooms the nurse keeps asking us questions as if we are on trial ( so tell me what happened?) is what he asked, we explained what happened 3 times. Why do we keep imposing the same question over and over again. Then the doctor comes , and me and my husband are people who like to ask questions. so i asked ( Is it common for dogs to shiver so much ) because as a puppy coming to a new space of course its going to be scared but it was the first time I’ve seen a dog shiver so much, it was made to seem like we were doing something to him, and that made me feel so uncomfortable. So finally the doctor is done, we leave but she never says the reps will see you before you leave, and this was our first time at a real vet hospital, as we are about to pull off a rep is running outside to get us which is fine. I made a statement saying ( oh my god we almost drove off ) and she says something in words as if we were trying to run out on the bill when we never was told to go to the front because we would have. We work hard like everyone else and we are honest and very good people. To say the most our experience was not good and i will never ever come here or refer anyone i know to this place. I guess some places are only for a certain kind of people and thats fine. We now then have made an account with pet smart and we love everyone there, they really care about your concerns and listen to what you have to say.
