The sentiment of treating pets like family is a recurring theme in the heartfelt testimonials from clients. One pet owner, who has been a patron for over eight years, shared how the staff's care and compassion for her two senior dogs, one of whom has mobility issues and the other with a timid nature, are "unmatched." She specifically praised Dr. Keating for her "calm, kind presence" and "tenderness and respect" when handling her dogs. This level of personalized, gentle care is what builds trust and loyalty among pet owners who know that their pets, especially those with special needs, are in the best hands. The front desk staff, like Serena and Edward, also receive high praise for their friendly demeanor and efficiency in managing appointments and medication refills, making every interaction smooth and stress-free.
Beyond the compassion of the staff, the clinic is recognized for its professional competence. A customer who brought their golden retriever for a spay procedure was highly satisfied, noting that the team "did a great job" and made the process "easy, from the drop-off to the pick-up." The fact that the dog was back to her normal self by the next morning speaks volumes about the quality of the surgical and post-operative care provided. This blend of professionalism and care is what makes Newport Mesa Animal Hospital a trusted resource for a wide range of veterinary needs, from routine check-ups to more complex medical procedures. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can’t say enough amazing things about Newport Mesa Animal Hospital! I have been going to this vet for about 8/9 years. My two senior dogs, Roux (almost 15 and unable to walk) and Cloud is 13 ( who’s not the easiest with people), both receive the most loving, expert care here—and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with them. From the front desk to the exam room, the care and compassion they show is unmatched.Dr. Keating is by far the best vet I’ve ever encountered. Her calm, kind presence is something you feel the moment she walks in.She listens to every concern, answers every question, and always finds thoughtful solutions. Roux is nearly 15 and can’t walk, and Dr. Keating handles him with such tenderness and respect. Cloud can be difficult around people, but this is the only vet clinic where she feels safe and is treated with gentle care. Her calm energy is something you simply can’t teach; she is truly one of a kind. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!Natalia the vet tech, is just as incredible. She’s warm, patient, and takes her time making sure my dogs feel comfortable and cared for. I truly enjoy seeing her each visit. I love seeing her and knowing my dogs are in such kind and capable hands. And huge thanks to Serena and Edward at the front desk——they’re always quick to respond to my messages about appointments, medications or any concerns I have. They make every interaction smooth and stress-free. They are so friendly and helpful every time I come in.I wholeheartedly recommend Newport Mesa Animal Hospital to all my friends and family. The entire team goes above and beyond, and I truly wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else. They treat my pets like family—and that means the world to me. Thank you all for the love and care you give Roux and Cloud!
July 12 · Chrysti WarnerI spayed my one year old golden retriever here and thought they did a great job. They responded to my questions quickly and made everything easy, from the drop-off to the pick-up. She was back to her normal self by the next morning. The hardest part of the spay was making sure she didn’t pop her stitches from wanting to run/jump/play the day after her spay.
July 14 · Ben LinAbsolutely a great place! All of the doctors and staff are awesome and always make sure to take great care of both of my dogs. They make sure to listen to all of our problems and go above and beyond when it comes to take care of our dogs needs. They really do care for them as if the dog was theirs. Really appreciate everything you guys have done for us.
January 12 · Nicholas DallasGrateful is the magic word. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Tom and this wonderful clinic. His staff are so sweet and they all truly care about my Snickers girl!! Both Dr. Tom and Dr. Keating didn’t want to do any tests that weren’t necessary thus avoiding major costs for me. That’s rare in the vet world. Everyone there is good, hardworking people that seriously love animals and have high morals and values. Dr. Tom is super personable and damn knowledgeable that’s for sure. We had a good laugh. The clinic has a very homey feel as soon as you walk in, It felt like a breath of fresh air when I walked in. I was worried about my cat, just crushed that she wasn’t acting herself and scared myself. I always pack a bag for Snickers (pillow, my t-shirts, her blanket) and the girl with the super curly hair said that’s totally great we will put it in with her! The girls at the front are always busy but they don’t look stressed or unhappy and are always ready to help as soon as we walk in the door. AND Dr. Tom (tearing up as I’m writing this) emailed me after I had emailed his office staff asking for help saying that he will personally take us on (instead of passing us along to someone else.) He has had great communication with me, emails and calls. This may seem like a dramatic review lol but my cat means the world to me and to have found a vet that is just so all around amazing, well, just feels real good. Thank you Dr. Tom, we adore you.
October 05 · Laura C.This is the 3rd Veterinarian I tried and, by far, the best. I have a sweet 3 year old Cocapoo named Maggie who left the other Vets offices shaking and terrified. Dr Irwin showed so much love and comapassionn and kept Maggie calm and confident. Thank you Dr Irwin and Newport Mesa Animal Hospital the same love and comapssion for Maggie that I have.
