★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We trusted three of our fur babies here and VERY disappointed.1. There is little to no communication from what seems like a very overworked staff. We are not the only ones who have brought our animal in for services they “forgot” to perform but blame you for somehow (ie: I've heard multiple complaints and unhappy customers while just sitting in the office!) I called ahead asking for a re-check swab on my dog while boarding, my husband dropped her off and specified the same, then they bathed her and didn’t do the swab (can’t if she’s clean!) when we came to pick her up they said we needed to specify ahead of time “next time” (which we did, twice) meanwhile it is a significant challenge to bring her in bc of her age, ailments and having a newborn that can’t be around her skin condition and the doctor said that I just need to “do better”-actual words- and that’s not their fault I can’t bring her in so many times, (completely bypassing their own error). By the way, if they know it’s their error, they automatically approach you with frustration and contention. It’s GASLIGHTING 101.2. And they don’t take good care of them while boarding! They all come back with severe GI/stomach/diarrhea issues (my older one came back pooping BLOOD and they told me that’s normal (?) and I must have given her something (which, how can it be both?)- BUT she did it on the WAY home from them!3. It’s expensive too. They talked me into bloodwork that was ultimately not needed after expressing my concern about how high these bills are every time I bring her in. And of course you want to trust them, especially with my older one, I trusted they would figure out what’s wrong and I have been paying quite a lot for it. 8 months and 2 antibiotics courses later, her skin is worse and they “forgot” to swab her bc it wasn’t on her paperwork ?? (I called and checked, it WAS on the paperwork, but apparently if you don’t write it in there yourself or something it won’t happen?? Idk)4. They also lie. Like it’s nothing. I came in for a bath and for them to clear the skin debris. I picked her up after bath and she was still flakey! They said they don’t do that (??) but they had done it TWICE before! They INSISTED that they don’t do that and when I said then why did they do it before? They simply replied “well then it wasn’t here” (that’s the ONLY place I’ve taken her!)One doc told me the skin condition needs to be kept from other dogs and the baby, another doc said that’s ridiculous, it’s fine. I said then why was I told that before? He said “well it wasn’t here so I don’t know where you heard that!” (Again, it’s the only place I’ve taken her…) my favorite was when I said “it’s getting worse, here’s a new spot on the top of her head” (hard to mistake!) and the doc replied, “no it’s not, that was there before I remember” (I have been taking pics to document the issue, it was new. They’re just careless and egocentric…)Clearly we are frustrated customers, but I don’t wish this on anyone so stay away if you can! There are so many other great places that actually care for your babies!
August 31 · Allie QuiñonezThe most troubling kind of dishonesty is taking advantage of someone during a time of desperation. Unfortunately, that is exactly what I experienced with Dr. Bruce Whitaker.I was referred to his clinic by an internal medicine specialist (a gastroenterologist) who had already taken an X-ray of my cat in preparation for an ultrasound. Despite having access to those recent results, Dr. Whitaker insisted on taking a new X-ray. He recommended to keep my cat for 24 hours and performed six additional X-rays. When I arrived at the clinic to pick up my cat, I was told that six more were needed. This conduct was not only unauthorized but completely unethical. In my opinion, this level of disregard for consent and the well-being of both the pet and the owner is unacceptable.I believe this kind of behavior warrants serious scrutiny, and I strongly question whether Dr. Whitaker should continue to practice under such conditions.
June 27 · Mae ZahirStaff & Doctors are knowledgeable & friendly. I highly recommend Newport Hills Animal Hospital, not only for seeing the vets but also for grooming & vacation boarding.
July 08 · Anita PestanoExceptional level of care and attention for animals. Both as a vet and animal hospital, I am really happy with the team and experience.
June 23 · Elyse RigolfiI cannot describe how deeply kind, thoughtful and caring this office is. From the vets and their medical knowledge, to the deeply kind and caring staff, this is the vet office you wish for your beloved pet family member. My dog passed here and the kindness, care and love they showed me any my dog will never be lost on me. What they did for us as he passed and after is one of the most incredible experiences I could ever describe as a dog mama. They not only know how to honor your pet, they know how to honor you. There is no playbook- it's just in the goodness of who they are. - Four years after my dog passed, they still bring up my beloved when I am there and talk to me about playing with him, caring for him and remembering him. I was there today with my new sweet dog and one person made a point tell me that she always sees my name and thinks of my dog who passed and wanted to tell me he was her favorite to hold and that she misses him. - This is an office filled with kind, loving, wonderful humans. Your family members who are dogs or cats will feel fully embraced and loved here. I adore this office, their staff and the vets. You will too.
