Cat Clinic Introduce
For cat owners across California, particularly in the Orange County area, finding a veterinary practice that truly understands the unique needs of felines can make all the difference. Cat Clinic, located in Costa Mesa, is precisely that—a sanctuary for cats and a trusted partner for their human companions. This is not a general animal hospital; it is a veterinary clinic devoted exclusively to the health and well-being of cats, from playful kittens to wise senior felines. The team understands that cats are not just small dogs; they have distinct behaviors, medical needs, and a sensitivity to their environment that requires specialized care.
The clinic's approach is built on a foundation of compassionate, thoughtful, and expert care. Veterinarians like Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Evans are highlighted by clients for their knowledge, professionalism, and patience. They take the time to listen to your concerns, providing not just medical treatment but also the support needed to navigate difficult situations, such as managing a chronic illness or making end-of-life decisions. This level of dedicated support helps to build a lasting relationship of trust between the staff, the cat, and the owner.
While the vast majority of customer feedback points to the high quality of veterinary care, a few isolated incidents have highlighted challenges in the administrative side of the clinic, particularly regarding front desk interactions. However, these issues appear to be isolated and do not reflect the overall quality of medical care. The positive testimonials about the doctors' and veterinary technicians' expertise and the clinic’s specialized services far outweigh the negative feedback about administrative mishaps, with many clients expressing that they would not take their cats anywhere else.
The commitment of the staff to creating a low-stress environment is a major draw for cat owners. A cat-only clinic means no barking dogs to frighten your feline friend, and the staff is skilled in handling even the most "vet-hating" cats with a calm and gentle touch. This specialized environment ensures that your cat's visit is as comfortable as possible, which is crucial for both their health and your peace of mind.
Cat Clinic is conveniently located at 1680 Tustin Ave in Costa Mesa, CA 92627. This location places it within easy reach for residents of Costa Mesa, as well as those in nearby communities like Newport Beach, Irvine, and Santa Ana. The clinic's position on a major road ensures it is easily accessible for car travel.
The clinic is committed to ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors. It offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This attention to accessibility ensures that pet owners with diverse needs can comfortably bring their cats in for care. The on-site amenities, including a restroom, also contribute to a more comfortable experience for clients.
For all services, the clinic operates on an appointments-recommended basis. This system is designed to provide each patient and their owner with dedicated, uninterrupted time with the veterinary staff. By scheduling in advance, you can avoid long waits and ensure that the team is fully prepared to address your cat's specific health concerns. While this requires a bit of planning, it ultimately results in a more thorough and personalized visit, which is especially important for sensitive felines who may find vet trips stressful.
The combination of a central location, a commitment to accessibility, and a structured appointment system makes Cat Clinic a highly convenient and efficient choice for cat owners in the California region. It is designed to minimize hassle and maximize the quality of care your cat receives.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was picking up my cat. I told the receptionist the cat's name, and she immediately asked me to pay within one minute. I told her I had paid an advance and it needed to be subtracted. She immediately said, 'I said the total, and you'll get an itemized bill.' The payment terminal said 'card approved,' but she claimed she couldn't see the payment processed. She then checked with another staff member, who explained that the advance needed to be subtracted, which was why the payment didn't go through. She wasn't even listening to me and didn't show any respect; she was just making things up as she went along. Then she checked with an IT staff member, and the IT person told me that the payment didn't go through due to a system error. While I was standing in front of her, a phone call came in, and she answered it without saying 'excuse me' or offering any courtesy. The other staff members were free, though.
June 12 · Bala SundarrajThis is the best cat clinic ever! I would not take my cats anywhere else. Dr. Steinberg & Dr. Evans are compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. They are extremely patient and take their time with you. We had a cat that was diagnosed with cancer and the Dr.s and staff were extremely patient, supportive, and helpful navigating his final months with us. If you are looking for a vet that specializes in felines, look not further. So happy our new babies will be receiving care from them.
May 29 · Lauren MirallegroThe most compassionate and professional cat clinic I’ve ever been to. I took my cat (Cielo) to get spayed and not only did they do an amazing job but they thoroughly checked and ran tests to ensure a successful, safe surgery. Since the first visit he made us feel a great sense of relief. Dr. J. Burner explained everything about the surgery which left us with a great sense of tranquility. Dr. Burner called before the surgery to let us know about some issues regarding her health and to ask us how we wanted to proceed. After the surgery, he called right away to let us know everything went well. The staff is also very nice and checked in with us the next couple of days after Cielo’s surgery. My husband and I are very pleased with the amount of empathy we received from the doctor and his staff that we referred them to our daughter. This has now become our family clinic, we will continue to bring our cats here ☺️
September 27 · Grsl PSI went to Cat Clinic because I assumed they were cat experts. They did a terrible job at handling my cat.My cat can get aggressive and is in/out so has nails. They started with minor Gabapentin, then more to the point my cat was almost knocked out at home. He'd pickup energy to fight them apparently. They didn't let me be present in the room while doing physical or vaccine. That's not surgery, there's nothing wrong with me being around. I would have been fine signing waivers in case I got the shot instead of the cat, or whatever worse case scenario you can come up with. That wasn't an option. They kept suggesting more and more sedation just for an exam / vaccines, to the point where they were suggesting to completely sedate him just to do his yearly exam. That was the tipping point for me.I tried All Creature's Care Cottage (nearby) and the vet there was amazing. She handled my cat like a pro, using pheromone scent and treats to keep him distracted, and letting me hold him while they did their thing. All this with just a minor amount of Gabapentin, no violence at all. Could have been the change of location, but in my opinion is was far superior. That said, staff at Cat Clinic was very kind, I think their policies and techniques are just bad.I believe this was Dr Evans, from 2021 to mid 2024.100% recommend All Creature's Care Cottage instead.
January 23 · Rodrigo RosaThe most knowledgeable and caring doctors (shout out to Dr Evans!) and the most friendly and compassionate staff. My girl is a little high-strung and they were just great with her. So happy to have all my senior cats in their care. They may be just a little pricier, but the Cat Clinic is WELL WORTH IT. Thanks for everything!
