North Country Cat Hospital Introduce
For cat owners in New York, and especially those in the Queensbury area, finding a veterinary practice that truly understands the unique needs of felines is a top priority. North Country Cat Hospital is that special place. This animal hospital is not a one-size-fits-all clinic; it is a veterinary practice dedicated exclusively to the health and well-being of cats. The hospital's focus on a single species creates an environment that is less stressful for cats and provides veterinarians with a deeper, more specialized expertise. Led by Dr. Patricia Evans, the clinic is a haven for feline friends, offering a quiet, dog-free zone where cats can receive the highest level of care. This specialization is a significant advantage, as the staff and doctors are intimately familiar with feline-specific diseases, behaviors, and medical needs. For any New Yorker who considers their cat to be a cherished member of the family, North Country Cat Hospital provides peace of mind, knowing their pet is in the hands of compassionate and knowledgeable professionals.
The philosophy of the hospital, as evidenced by positive customer feedback, is centered on treating every cat "like they are family." This is more than just a marketing phrase; it’s a core value that is consistently reflected in their service. Dr. Evans is frequently praised for her kindness, professionalism, and ability to communicate clearly with pet owners. She takes the time to explain a cat’s health issues and treatment options, making the experience feel collaborative and informative. For many cat owners, this level of communication is invaluable. It helps them feel empowered in making the best decisions for their pets' health. The staff's dedication extends to routine check-ups as well as more complex medical situations, ensuring that every cat receives personalized and thorough attention. The singular focus on felines means the entire facility, from the waiting room to the exam tables, is designed to minimize stress for their sensitive patients, making for a much better vet visit for both the cat and the owner.
However, it is also important to consider all aspects of a veterinary practice. A less favorable review points out that the clinic may not be the ideal fit for cats that are particularly fearful or have a history of bad experiences with vets. The review notes that the hospital does not have a veterinary technician on hand to help handle aggressive or scared cats, which could be a challenge for some rescue cats or those with significant anxiety. This honest feedback is a useful piece of information for potential clients. It highlights the importance of a cat's individual personality and past history when choosing a vet. For cats that are generally calm and friendly, or for owners who are comfortable handling their own pet during an exam, North Country Cat Hospital is an excellent choice. But for those with cats that require extra assistance and a more hands-on approach from the clinic staff, it may be necessary to find a clinic with a different operational model. This transparency is a valuable feature of the business, as it helps owners make an informed decision for their pet's specific needs. The clinic is not for every cat, but for the right cat, it seems to be an amazing option.
Ultimately, the choice of a veterinary hospital is a deeply personal one for every pet owner. What is clear from the available information is that North Country Cat Hospital offers a highly specialized and caring environment for a specific kind of patient. For many, the benefits of a feline-only practice, led by a doctor who is praised for her compassion and expertise, far outweigh any potential drawbacks. Their commitment to treating cats like family and their reasonable pricing, as noted by a client, make them a strong contender for a trusted veterinary partner in New York.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love this vets office. Dr Evans is professional, kind and talks about cats like they are family! And they are. She has treated my cat Honey twice recently and even more recently talked me through some issues with my little mans male cat Pepper. She is reasonably priced and i highly recommend her
July 08 · Sandie FullerI don’t like rating places by stars, but my case is that my cats were not able to be fully examined due to the fact they hissed/growled at Dr. Evans on their first appointment. When I tried making a follow up appointment, she pointed out the fact her notes mentioned their signs of fear and mentioned she may not be able to treat them if this continues. My cats, like most, are perfectly happy and friendly at home; and to my family, friends, and neighbors. They were adopted at around 4 months old, so I’m not sure if they had a bad first experience at the Vet. Dr. Evans also explained she does not have a technician alongside her to help handle fearful cats. I’m sure she is a great vet for current patients, however might not be the right vet for your cat(s) if they are rescue cats or have had bad experiences elsewhere.
June 14 · Erin DMy roommate brought her cat in for a checkup. Not sure exactly which doctor she was with but we nor anyone we know will ever be going back. The poor cat was returned shocked shaking and COVERED IN HIS OWN FECES. The doctor then proceeded to berate my roommate and tell her that she’s a “bad cat mom” and “shouldn’t own cats”. He is a perfectly healthy young cat and she loves him deeper than a son. It was unprofessional, inappropriate and uncalled for. A professional in any field should never talk to someone that way and an animal should never be returned to their owner is such deplorable conditions.
February 15 · Jessica BrittonDr Evans has been the vet for 32 years of our our cats! She is knowledgeable about all stages (ages) of cats. She was very helpful & compassionate with both young & old cats.
September 19 · Carol ZibroDr. Evans is AMAZING. I have taken my cats to her for many years. She is so compassionate toward animals, listens intently to your concerns & has always done a thorough exam on my cats. She has a calm nature and is very knowledgeable. She has accommodated me when I have needed her help quickly & has been a godsend. 🙏 She is the BEST cat vet in the area. I recommend her without hesitation. 5*****
