Pet Clinic operates as a veterinarian and animal hospital, providing a range of services focused on general care and addressing common health issues. Our primary goal is to provide basic diagnostic and treatment plans for pets in the community. As a Latino-owned business, we strive to make veterinary care more approachable and accessible. While we may not have extensive in-house diagnostic equipment like some larger specialty hospitals, we are a place where you can get your pet looked at and begin a treatment plan. Our services are focused on the following areas:
General Veterinary Care: We provide general check-ups and examinations for dogs and cats to assess their overall health and address any immediate concerns. Our team can evaluate symptoms and offer a preliminary diagnosis and treatment recommendation.
Basic Treatments: Our clinic can administer basic treatments for sick pets, including providing antibiotics and other medications. We focus on providing a foundational level of care for common ailments.
Preventative Treatments: We can offer flea treatments and other preventative measures to help maintain your pet's health and prevent common issues.
Urgent Care: We are a veterinarian that can handle certain urgent care and non-critical emergency situations. If your pet is not feeling well, we can provide an initial examination and treatment plan.
Referral Services: For complex cases requiring advanced diagnostics like X-rays or blood work, we will provide a referral to a more specialized clinic, ensuring your pet gets the necessary care from a facility that has the right equipment.
Pet Clinic holds a unique place in the Los Angeles community due to its community-focused approach and commitment to accessibility. Here are some key features and highlights that set us apart:
Latino-Owned and Community-Focused: As a Latino-owned business, we are deeply connected to the local community and understand its specific needs. We strive to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment where clients feel understood and respected.

Focus on General Care: We are a clinic that specializes in providing care for common pet issues, from allergies to basic infections. Our services are designed for pet owners who need a straightforward and efficient solution without the cost or complexity of a full-scale specialty hospital.
Immediate Appointments: For many non-critical issues, we can offer same-day appointments, which is a significant convenience for pet owners dealing with a sick pet who needs to be seen quickly but may not require a trip to a costly emergency room. This is a key benefit for local users looking for timely care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I would proceed carefully with this clinic. It all seemed great at first. We brought two dogs in at separate times. One of them was having the area around her eye continuously swell. The doctor gave us pills and eye drops and told us it was probably just allergies. We came back about a month later when we realized that the drops were a temporary fix. He told us it was just allergies, probably something in the air, and that the area would continue to swell after the eyedrops because, again, it's just allergies. Finally, we took her to another vet. Turns out, it was actually a bacterial infection in her molars. The second was our dog of over 10 years. He was having a hard time walking and the doctor checked him and with no hesitation offered surgery. Something was off, so we ended up taking him to the other vet who was honest with us, actually took x rays, and let us know that he had bone cancer that was too far along to actually do anything. He was honest and told us that surgery would only prolong his pain. We made the difficult decision to put him down. This was our experience. Please be careful when listening to what this doctor says.
February 18 · Ally VasquezBEWARE This place is sooooooo beyond freaking sketchy! They have appointments same day which I fell for and it seems from the reviews a lot of other have too. I had semi-sick pet so I thought this would be less than VCA Emergency. IT IS NOT and they don't even have any in-house equipment to run tests and labs! The Doctor asked whats wrong and looked over my pet didn't take her temp or anything. The doctor comes back and offers a package of treatments.....and the doctor makes up a price on the spot! It's so awkward and weird. No breakdown of costs to pick and choose which treatments. The doctor supposedly gave my pet antibiotics, wellness immune pills, and a flea treatment. The flea treatment was bogus fleas remained the same, not even a decline in fleas for a day, nothing! The wellness immune pills are just repackaged pet treats in a medicine bottle with a handwritten label.....and the antibiotics did NOTHING for my pet. I got suspicious because I've never gotten pet antibiotics this color and texture for any of my animals. The bottle is handwritten on too! Not sealed from the manufacturer with a prescription printed on it. The office is not equipped for testing, X-rays, or blood work. You might as well call a TelaVet for 1/16 the price. The whole experience cost $500. Last year I took a critically ill puppy to VCA emergency and paid $100 less for the rush visit, antibiotics, bloodwork, fluids, deworming and and vaccines! When I asked this vet about the cost for another pet I have with a different set of none critical issues he said "same" So I guess $500 is the standard price to be looked at and NOT be tested or diagnosed? I hate leaving bad reviews but this place is sketchy af and bad bad vibes.
December 06 · R YDr. Argueta took great care of my parents beloved dog, Daisy, in her final hours. He and his staff went the extra mile to accommodate them and their pet. Also, to make them feel the closure they needed. Thank you once again Doctor. 👍🏻
August 09 · David BaezI have been coming to Dr. Walter for almost 5 years now and I am extremely happy with the service he provides. I have a catahoula terrier mix and when he was about 6 months old he came down with a skin condition. I took him to several vets and they treated him for everything from an allergy to mage, but no one was able to correctly diagnose him. After 2 months of watching him suffer from hair loss, scars and oozing sores Dr. Walter was able to treat him correctly and my baby was cured in a matter of 2 weeks. Dr. Walter literally saved his life.
June 10 · Diana RamirezDr. Argueta shows he really cares for your beloved pet's best interest but the client as well. He tells the truth and makes you feel safe. I take my geriatric dog for arthritis care and regular acupuncture sessions. My dog is back to his spunky puppy self again thank goodness! I would recommend him to anyone for a caring veterinarian that practices great medicine.
