Southern Ca Equine-Canine Chiropractic: Block Rod DC Introduce
For pet owners and equestrian enthusiasts across California, particularly those in the Orange County region, finding specialized care that addresses mobility and chronic pain in a holistic manner is a top priority. Southern Ca Equine-Canine Chiropractic, under the expertise of Dr. Rod Block, DC, offers a unique and highly valued service: certified animal chiropractic care. This practice bridges the gap between traditional veterinary medicine and alternative, non-invasive treatment methods, focusing on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems of both horses and dogs.
Dr. Block's approach is rooted in the belief that proper alignment of the spine and joints is fundamental to an animal's overall health, behavior, and athletic performance. When pets—whether a beloved Shih Tzu or a performance horse—experience discomfort, limping, stiffness, or changes in gait, it is often indicative of underlying subluxations or joint misalignments. By employing gentle, controlled chiropractic adjustments, the goal is to correct these issues, thus easing pain, releasing fatigue, and restoring normal function and comfort. This is not a replacement for comprehensive veterinary care, but rather a complementary modality that works in conjunction with a pet's primary veterinarian to provide truly integrated health solutions.
The importance of this specialized field is often highlighted by client testimonials, particularly when conventional treatments like pain medication or steroids have provided limited relief. As one client shared regarding their 15-year-old chihuahua with a back injury, immediate and continued improvement was noted after receiving chiropractic adjustment and cold laser therapy from Dr. Block, proving the value of this hands-on, holistic method for even the most delicate patients. This practice is particularly appealing to those in the California area seeking drug-free alternatives for chronic conditions or post-injury rehabilitation for their cherished animal companions.
With over two decades of experience and a history of working with animals ranging from family pets to zoo animals and police horses—as noted by his past consultancy with the Los Angeles Police Department's Mounted Police Unit—Dr. Block brings a deep well of knowledge to every consultation. This commitment to expert, compassionate care is what makes Southern Ca Equine-Canine Chiropractic a significant resource for animal wellness in Southern California.
Southern Ca Equine-Canine Chiropractic is based out of an office location in Irvine, California, providing a central point for administrative and consultation purposes within Orange County. However, a defining feature of Dr. Block’s practice, and a critical convenience for pet and horse owners, is the mobile nature of the service. Given the difficulty of transporting injured or large animals like horses, the ability to receive care at home or at the stable is an invaluable benefit.
The primary contact address for the practice is: 1 Gold Bluff #2833, Irvine, CA 92604, USA.
While the Irvine address serves as the base of operations, Dr. Block is known to offer mobile services, traveling to patients across Southern California. This dedication to bringing the care directly to the animal minimizes stress and provides a more comfortable environment for treatment, particularly for anxious pets or horses in need of Equine Chiropractic. For local users seeking services, it is highly recommended that appointments are made in advance to coordinate mobile visits effectively across the wide service area of Southern California. For clients who may visit the Irvine location for specific reasons, the facility is noted to have a wheelchair accessible entrance, wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom, demonstrating a commitment to accessibility for all clients.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My 15-year-old chihuahua injured his back after walking off the bed. After two weeks on steroids and pain meds from our regular vet, there was little improvement—he was still barely mobile and not himself from the medications. Thankfully, we found Dr. Block—he was able to come to our home the next day. He performed an adjustment and started cold laser therapy, and we saw immediate improvement that continued each day. Highly recommend Dr. Block and will definitely turn to him again for any future back or mobility issues.
April 19 · Diana NgoMy Shihtzu/terrier mix is a big jumper and still very active at 12 years old. She doesn’t know her limitations and has occasionally needed Dr Block’s care. Each and every time she is good as new after laser therapy and adjustments. I hate to see my baby in any discomfort or limping around, so glad there is help with Dr. Block!
April 06 · Teresa OconnorDr. Rod Block was a godsend for my 14 year old lab. He woke up one day dragging his legs and we thought that was the end. A good friend recommended I try a chiropractor. Rod sensed the urgency and visited us the next day. Two sessions later he was walking again without pain. Rod truly gave an extra year with our boy. I’m forever grateful. Thank you Rod!
September 27 · Brooke ThaxtonOur 8 yo mini schnauzer suddenly developed hip problem: hesitate to walk upstairs and no more jumping. Went to the vet and they just suggested to watch out for arthritis, and recommended to see pet chiropractor, so I did and found Dr Block offering his services near by (I live in Irvine). So I contacted him immediately and he picked up the call, so we set up an appointment for the next day.Dr. Block showed up 20mins earlier than expected, he found out what’s wrong with our pup immediately (muscle strain) and the appt took less than 10 mins including the cold laser light treatment. He also showed us how to relax the muscle, and suggested to see him again in 3 months for follow up and regular adjustment.Only 2 hours later, our pup jumped in the car seat for the first time in a week, we are so impressed! Dr Block obviously is great at what he does! We will definitely continue to consult him in the future. Thanks!
August 01 · O HDr. Block is such a wonderful doctor and beautiful soul. Highly recommend. My 17 year old yorkie was helped by him multiple times, from hip issues, and vestibular spinal injury. In the video I’ve posted, showed that she kept circling for a whole week. Hard for her to lay down and sleep, weakness with disorientation. After 1 visit adjustment, she started walking straight. Today she had her second adjustment, 4 days from her first, and she’s jumping and pawing for more snacks. She’s not on any medications, and I don’t intend to put her on any so she won’t damage her organs. But I highly recommend if you’re looking for holistic treatments for your dog, give Dr. Block a call.
