The Village Veterinary Center Introduce
For pet owners in Rhode Island, finding a veterinary practice that combines cutting-edge medical services with a deeply compassionate, personal touch is the ultimate goal. The Village Veterinary Center in North Kingstown stands out as an exemplary animal hospital that meets and exceeds these expectations. Co-founded by Dr. David Bergmann, this practice is a cornerstone of the community, offering a full range of services from routine wellness to critical care. As the reviews show, they have established themselves as a trusted partner in the health and well-being of our beloved companions, building a reputation for excellence that is a source of pride for the local area.
The philosophy at The Village Veterinary Center is rooted in the belief that pets are family. This is reflected in their "compassionate veterinary care," a phrase that is more than just a tagline—it's the core of their practice. This is beautifully illustrated by the customer who had to put their 17-year-old cat down. They recount how "Dr. Bergman and Sarah were great," making "the experience as good as possible." The story of a pet being lovingly fed treats during his final moments speaks volumes about the empathy and kindness of the staff. This level of care, even in the most difficult circumstances, is what sets The Village Veterinary Center apart and makes them an invaluable part of the North Kingstown community.
Beyond the emotional support, the practice is a hub of medical expertise. Dr. David Bergmann, a highly experienced DVM, co-founded the center in 2014 with his wife, Gioia Bergmann. Their mission was to create a modern, full-service animal hospital that utilizes "leading edge equipment and time trusted techniques." This commitment to advanced technology, from digital radiology to ultrasound, ensures that your pet receives the most accurate diagnoses and effective treatments available. The staff is consistently praised for being "wonderful," "sensitive to her special needs," and for their timely follow-ups on tests and referrals, proving that their professionalism is as impressive as their compassion.
The Village Veterinary Center prides itself on providing customized health care. The practice philosophy recognizes that no two pets or pet owners are alike, and a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn't work. The staff takes the time to truly understand your pet's unique personality, health history, and needs, allowing them to create a tailored health plan. This personalized approach fosters a sense of trust and partnership that is crucial for long-term veterinary care. As one loyal customer puts it, they "would not trust my dog with anyone else!", a testament to the strong bonds the team builds with both their two-legged and four-legged clients.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had to put our cat down. He was 17, and quickly getting progressively sicker. Dr. Bergman and Sarah were great. They made the experience as good as possible. Sarah fed Hector treats, and he received a lot of loving. He didn’t even seem to notice the injection given, while he was chowing down on treats. We couldn’t have been more satisfied about how it all went.
June 21 · Debra PerryAll of the staff at Village Vet are wonderful. They have been taking care of my dog for years and are always sensitive to her special needs. There is always follow up on tests and referrals in a timely manner.Would not trust my dog with anyone else!
November 10 · Larry WippI had a deeply disappointing experience at this veterinary clinic from the moment I walked through the door. The veterinarian treated both my dog and me with blatant disrespect, making it clear that our presence was not welcomed. The unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff was shocking and unacceptable, leading me to refuse their services entirely. I strongly advise others to avoid this clinic if they value respectful and compassionate treatment for their pets. This place is far from satisfactory and does not deserve your trust or business.
July 06 · Spencer TobinThe only place I will take my pup. She is animal aggressive and selective with most people. She absolutely loves him and has no anxiety going to see him. They text me when it’s clear of animals to come inside and they treat her with such compassion. The vet techs are all amazing and great with her as well. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a vet that cares for your animal like their own.
December 21 · Kyra CollinsWe’ve been taking our dog to dr Dave for 10 years. He and his staff have always been extremely kind and super efficient. I highly recommend them and wouldn’t take Molly anywhere else.
