My little girl Molly tore her knee when she was 13.5. She had knee surgery and healed beautifully. Seven months later she was diagnosed with Lung cancer. She was put on Steroids and then had 4 Radiation treatments. She was given 3-4 months and unfortunately only lived 6.5 months before passing from that horrible Disease. Someone suggested acupuncture so I reached out to Dr Ting and started weekly acupuncture. While it was not going to cure her cancer I truly believe it made her feel better during this process. Her front legs stopped trembling from arthritis. The visits were calming and stress free. I think Molly enjoyed going each week. Dr Ting was very professional, knowledgeable and just an overall good spirit. She truly listened to my concerns each week and responded with kindness and compassion ( I chewed her ear off each week- sorry Dr Ting :-) I truly recommend Dr Ting if you are thinking of getting your fur friend acupuncture for a multiple of healing remedies. - Nikki Z

Ting Veterinary Acupuncture Introduce

For pet owners in the New York region, especially on Long Island, seeking alternative or complementary treatments for our beloved companions has become a popular and effective option. While traditional veterinary medicine is crucial, many of us are now turning to holistic approaches to address chronic pain, mobility issues, and other conditions that may not respond fully to conventional therapies. One of the most respected and sought-after practitioners in this field is Dr. Ting, a veterinarian who specializes in acupuncture and holistic medicine for animals.

This article will provide a comprehensive overview of Ting Veterinary Acupuncture, a unique practice that focuses on enhancing the quality of life for pets through natural and non-invasive methods. We will explore the specialized services offered, the compassionate approach that defines the practice, and why so many New Yorkers have found relief and hope for their furry friends with Dr. Ting.

An Overview of Ting Veterinary Acupuncture

Ting Veterinary Acupuncture is a specialized practice that integrates traditional Western veterinary medicine with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). Led by Dr. Tina Ting, a veterinarian with over 14 years of experience, the clinic focuses on providing holistic care that treats the root cause of a pet’s ailments rather than just the symptoms. Dr. Ting is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist who completed rigorous training at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her approach is an ideal solution for pet parents looking for complementary therapies to support their pets' health, particularly for conditions like arthritis, chronic pain, and neurological issues. The practice is highly recommended by clients who praise Dr. Ting's professionalism, extensive knowledge, and genuine kindness.

Location and Accessibility

Ting Veterinary Acupuncture is conveniently located on Johnson Ave in Bohemia, NY 11716, making it easily accessible for residents throughout Long Island. The practice's thoughtful design prioritizes client comfort and accessibility, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom. This ensures that every pet owner, regardless of their mobility, can visit the clinic without difficulty. In addition to the physical location, a significant feature of Dr. Ting's practice is her willingness to make house calls, serving most of Suffolk and Nassau counties. This service is invaluable for pets that are elderly, nervous, or too ill to travel, allowing them to receive treatment in the comfort and low-stress environment of their own home. Appointments are recommended to ensure each patient receives dedicated, one-on-one time with the doctor.

Services Offered

Ting Veterinary Acupuncture provides a focused range of services centered around holistic and integrative therapies. These treatments are often used to supplement conventional medicine or as a primary option for pets with chronic conditions. The services include:

  • Veterinary Acupuncture: This is the cornerstone of the practice. Dr. Ting uses fine needles inserted at specific points on the body to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being. This non-invasive treatment has been shown to be effective for a wide range of conditions, from musculoskeletal problems to neurological disorders.
  • Herbal Therapy: As part of her TCVM practice, Dr. Ting may prescribe herbal medicine to complement acupuncture and address underlying imbalances in the body, helping to restore health naturally.
  • Chiropractic Adjustments: Dr. Ting is also certified in Veterinary Medical Manipulation, which is similar to chiropractic adjustments for humans. This modality helps to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore proper function to a pet’s joints and spine.
  • Food Therapy: Dietary modification and food therapy are used to support the body’s natural healing processes and address specific conditions through nutrition. This holistic approach recognizes the power of diet in maintaining long-term health.
  • House Calls: To accommodate pets that are stressed by travel or are too ill to leave home, Dr. Ting offers house calls. This service provides a calm and familiar environment for the pet, which can significantly improve the effectiveness of the treatment.
Features and Highlights

What sets Ting Veterinary Acupuncture apart is not just the specialized services, but the deeply compassionate and effective care that Dr. Ting provides.

  • Expertise in Holistic Medicine: Dr. Ting's formal training and certification in both Western and Chinese veterinary medicine allow her to offer a truly integrative approach. This comprehensive knowledge base helps her create a more effective and personalized treatment plan for each patient.
  • Compassionate and Nurturing Care: As highlighted in customer reviews, Dr. Ting has a remarkable "bedside manner." She is praised for being a "good spirit" who is "knowledgeable" and "truly listened to my concerns." This level of empathy and personalized attention is invaluable, especially for pet owners dealing with a senior pet or one with a chronic or terminal illness.
  • Stress-Free Environment: The reviews consistently mention how calming and stress-free the visits are for the pets. One client noted that her nervous Shih Tzu "absolutely loves going for his acupuncture visits" and gets excited when he hears Dr. Ting’s name. This speaks volumes about the positive experience created for the animals.
  • Tangible Results: Customers have seen real, measurable improvements in their pets’ quality of life. From a dog’s arthritis-related trembling ceasing to an elderly dog’s improved mobility, the results demonstrate the power of acupuncture and holistic therapies when provided by an expert.
