★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My girlfriend and I drive over an hour almost every week to check this place out. I absolutely love it here. In the past year, I’ve probably bought close to 100 freshwater fish, and they have all done very well, haven’t lost a single one. Bought a handful of plants here as well, again, they have all done really well for me. My girlfriend bought a ball python a couple of weeks ago and she is extremely healthy and I can tell it was cared for and eating well. I’ve recently started transitioning from freshwater to saltwater, I bought some crabs and snails from here with only a few casualties, that were more than likely my fault as a beginner. I really only have two complaints about this place, one being that most of the dry goods don’t have prices on them. The other being that the saltwater section here is kind of disappointing and looks like it has been neglected, one frag tank has hair algae all over most of the corals, and the other looks like it has red Cyanobacteria (I think that’s what it is). There aren’t many saltwater fish to choose from, and the snails and crabs haven’t been restocked since I bought them all 2 months ago. I’m in no way knocking this place for the saltwater section, I understand it’s hard to maintain on a daily basis and probably hard to order the right amount of stuff since there probably aren’t a lot of people into saltwater tanks in the area. I would just much rather support a local business than a big corporation or pay for overnight shipping! The owner here is also amazing, he is super friendly, patient, and knows what he is talking about!
August 18 · Ethan FixAmazing reptile and aquatic store, it’s super clean and the employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. Top tier store. Our Nova is the healthiest gecko and thriving!I will definitely be back to get fish friends!
March 24 · Ashley HammGreat experience! We have been in this shop several times over the last few weeks building our fish tank. It's been a fun experience coming in and working with the staff to learn and slowly gather the supplies and fish to make sure our tank is successful. The owner has spent a lot of time working with us as we asked a lot of questions and worked through what kinds of fish do best together. The gentleman who works the fish area has been amazing as well. All other staff members have been a pleasure to work with, even if the fish area not been their area of expertise. It is clear everyone really enjoys working there. It is also clear they are dedicated to providing quality and healthy animals instead of just selling whatever they can slam in the store. We are very happy to have this shop in the area, especially after having a not so great experience with a manager at one of the big chain stores! Much happier to support a local shop!
March 16 · M NuttReally enjoyed my time at this store. I bought some cork bark rounds and was very pleased. Springtails, roaches and super worms were readily available. Wish I had one closer to me!
August 31 · Rachel HutchWe took a day trip up to Hagerstown and popped in here just to look. The fish look great and they go the extra step(s) to keep them looking so healthy and vibrant. The best condition Neon Tetras I have ever seen! They also have a comprehensive selection of reptile and amphibian items - vitamins and minerals, Repashy foods, live foods (fruit flies!, isopods and springtails as well as dubia roaches and horn worms). Prices were great and I did not expect to leave with really well priced cork tubes, a booming fruit fly culture and well priced reptile/amphibian vitamins. In our short time there we had three staff members say hello and ask if we wanted to see anything or had any questions. Highly recommend this gem of a shop!
