Cultured Corals Introduce
For saltwater aquarium enthusiasts and reef hobbyists across Florida, finding a reliable source for high-quality corals, equipment, and supplies is crucial to the success and beauty of their home aquariums. Cultured Corals, located in Longboat Key, has appeared in online listings as a potential resource for these specific needs. However, it is essential for local users to be aware of the business's current status before making a trip. While online data may list an address and a phone number, recent public information and customer reviews suggest that this location may no longer be a functioning aquarium shop. This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview to help you, the Florida-based hobbyist, navigate this situation and continue your search for the perfect aquatic supplies.
The world of aquariums, especially the specialized field of reef keeping, relies on up-to-date and accurate information. When a business's status changes, it can create confusion for customers who are accustomed to relying on online listings. The information provided about Cultured Corals, including its Longboat Key address and phone number, should be approached with caution. The reviews from real customers indicate that the business may have ceased its physical operations at this location. One review specifically states, "This place doesn’t exist anymore," and a phone call to the listed number resulted in a response from a different business, confirming that "the coral place went out of business and is no more."
This information is critical for anyone planning a visit, as it can save a wasted trip. While it's always a good practice to call ahead, the reviews suggest that even a phone call may lead to a dead end. For the dedicated reef keeper, the hunt for unique corals or essential equipment is part of the fun of the hobby, but it's important to have accurate expectations. The online presence and past transactions mentioned in a separate review suggest that at one point, the business may have operated successfully, perhaps as an online-only store or from a different location. However, for a user looking for a physical, local aquarium shop to visit in Florida, this particular listing does not appear to be a viable option.
The address associated with Cultured Corals is 520 Cedar St, Longboat Key, FL 34228, USA. This location is situated in the scenic Longboat Key area, which is part of Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast region. For those who are in the vicinity and were hoping to visit, the provided information must be considered. While the listing notes a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, which is a positive feature for any business, this detail is moot if the business is not operational at this address. The phone number listed is (855) 542-6725.
Based on the publicly available reviews and information, it appears that the physical storefront for Cultured Corals at the 520 Cedar St address is no longer in operation. This is an important detail for local Florida users who might be searching for a brick-and-mortar store to browse or pick up supplies. The review about the phone call suggests that the number may have been reassigned or is being used by another company, further confirming the change in business status. This situation highlights the importance of checking multiple sources and recent customer feedback before making a trip to any specialized retail location.
Given the current information, it is not possible to list specific services offered at this location. While a functional aquarium shop would typically offer a wide range of products, the reviews indicate that the business as a physical entity may no longer exist. However, for the sake of providing a comprehensive overview of what a business of this type might offer, a typical aquarium shop specializing in corals and marine life would provide:
In-store Pickup: This service option, as noted in the provided information, suggests that customers could once order items online and pick them up at the physical location. This is a common and convenient service for hobbyists who want to save on shipping costs or receive their items more quickly.
Live Corals for Sale: A store with this name would likely have specialized in selling a variety of live corals, from soft corals to SPS and LPS corals, catering to different levels of expertise and tank setups.
Aquarium Equipment and Supplies: This would include essential items like heaters (as mentioned in a review), lighting, filtration systems, pumps, and water testing kits. These are crucial for maintaining a healthy and stable reef environment.
Expert Advice and Consultation: Reputable aquarium shops are staffed by knowledgeable professionals who can offer guidance on tank maintenance, coral care, and compatibility between different species, which is an invaluable service for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists.
Dry Goods: Items such as fish food, salt mix, and supplements are also staples of any good aquarium shop.
However, it must be reiterated that these services are speculative based on the business type, and there is no evidence that they are currently offered by Cultured Corals at the specified address. The reviews paint a picture of a business that is no longer physically accessible to the public.
Based on the information, the highlights of this business are more historical than current. One review praises the company's quick response and fast shipping, suggesting that their online operations were at one time reliable and customer-focused. This positive feedback from a customer who ordered heaters highlights a history of good service, which is a valuable feature for any business. The reviewer's comment about wanting to provide an online review because none existed before their experience underscores a commitment to customer satisfaction. The listed service option of "in-store pickup" and the acceptance of "credit cards" and "debit cards" indicate a commitment to convenience and modern business practices.
However, the overwhelming feature of this listing, as highlighted by the second review, is its current non-operational status. For a potential customer in Florida, this is the most important piece of information. The fact that Google may have mis-listed the business and that it is "no more" is a critical highlight. It serves as a clear warning to users to seek out more current information about businesses, especially in a niche market like reef keeping where live goods are a concern.
Given the circumstances, the contact information is provided for the sake of a complete listing, but it is important to understand the potential outcome of a call.

For any user considering a visit or a phone call to this listing, it is highly recommended to search for more recent information online or to consider alternative, verified aquarium shops in the Sarasota and Longboat Key area of Florida.
Based on the provided information, the value proposition of Cultured Corals is not in its current accessibility as a local business. What is worth choosing about this entry is the cautionary lesson it provides to local users in Florida: to verify a business's operational status before making a trip. The customer reviews, in their honesty, serve a crucial function by providing factual, real-time feedback that can prevent a frustrating experience. For the Florida reef hobbyist, the best choice is to use this information to inform your search for a reputable and currently operating aquarium shop. While Cultured Corals may have been a valuable resource in the past, the evidence suggests that it is no longer an option for in-person shopping. By heeding the warnings from fellow customers, you can ensure that your search for the perfect coral or piece of equipment is successful.

Cultured Corals Reviews
Ordered 2 heaters. Initially a little worried after I couldn’t find any online reviews and their website seemed a little dated. Not to fear though. They respond quickly and ship fast. Would definitely order from them again. So here is an online review!
