Pet Supermarket on Collins Road is a key destination for all things pet-related, offering a wide array of products and services that cater to the diverse needs of local residents. More than just a typical pet store, this location serves as a comprehensive resource, providing everything from high-quality nutrition and engaging toys to essential grooming facilities. It's a place where you can find products for a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to reptiles and fish, all under one roof. The focus here is on convenience and selection, making it a go-to spot for quick visits and more extensive shopping trips.
The store has built a reputation for its wide selection and helpful services. One of the standout features is the self-serve dog wash, a service that has earned high praise from customers who appreciate the convenience of not having to wash their pets at home. As one happy customer noted, the station provides "all the cleaning supplies, shampoos, conditioners, towels, air dryer, even an apron so you don’t get all wet." This service is a game-changer for many, offering a practical and clean solution to a common pet ownership chore. The staff is also frequently commended for being friendly, and providing excellent customer service.
However, it's important for residents to be aware of the different facets of any business. While the store offers many great services and products for common household pets, there have been concerns raised by some members of the community regarding the care of exotic animals. As one reviewer highlighted, there can be a disconnect between the in-store staff's compassionate intentions and corporate policies concerning the handling of ill or injured animals. This feedback underscores the importance of informed choices, particularly for owners of specialized pets who may require specific and immediate veterinary care.
The Pet Supermarket is located at 7067 Collins Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32244, USA. This location makes it a central and easily accessible destination for residents of Jacksonville, especially those in the southwestern part of the city. What is Worth Choosing
For residents of Jacksonville, choosing Pet Supermarket on Collins Road is a worthwhile decision for several compelling reasons. The most significant advantage is the convenience and value offered by the store's services. The self-serve dog wash is a standout feature that provides a practical solution to a common pet care challenge, saving customers from the hassle of bathing their pets at home. The friendly staff and helpful setup make this service a highly recommended experience for local pet owners.
Furthermore, the store's wide product selection makes it a reliable one-stop-shop for a variety of pet needs. Whether you have a dog, cat, or a reptile, you can likely find the food, treats, toys, and supplies you need. The store's accessibility, with its wheelchair-friendly features, ensures that it is a welcoming environment for all community members. This commitment to convenience and inclusion makes the shopping experience more pleasant and stress-free.
However, as with any large retailer, it is important for customers to be aware of the limitations, particularly regarding specialized care for sick animals. While the staff’s compassion is evident, the store's policies may not align with what is needed in a critical care situation for an exotic pet. For this reason, a responsible pet owner should always have a relationship with a qualified exotic animal veterinarian for any health emergencies. Ultimately, for everyday pet supplies and the convenience of services like the self-serve dog wash, this Pet Supermarket location is a valuable resource for the Florida community, offering a blend of products and services that meet the needs of many pet owners.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I went to this place for the self service pet washing station. The staff were very friendly and greeted me and my fur-babes right away. After learning they have a pre-pay 5 wash punch card that is a really great bargain, I purchased the card. They provide all the cleaning supplies, shampoos, conditioners, towels, air dryer, even an apron so you don’t get all wet. There are 3 stations for washing small or bigger pets. The staff refilled the towels while I was there and checked that all the other supplies were full before we started. My babies came out smelling great. The only recommendation I have is that the dryers need warm air; my babies were cold from being washed, so blowing cold air on them to dry wasn’t an option. Otherwise this a great service and I highly recommend this location if you need to wash your fur-babies. It was great not having to bend over to get them washed. 😊
January 27 · Victoria DukeIf I could give this store less than one star, I would.Today I went in to purchase supplies for my reptiles and asked about a cage labeled "quarantine." I was told there was a baby Savannah monitor that had been taken home for 13 days, not given proper care, food, or the correct water setup, and then returned to the store in barely alive condition. After working in wildlife and exotic rehab for over 12 years and as an exotic animal vet tech, I wanted to help. The baby monitor was in truly terrible condition and I explained my experience and willingness to take it home and try to save it. I even offered to purchase the monitor at a discounted price and waive any health guarantee. The staff were kind, helpful, and clearly concerned — but they couldn’t make the decision themselves. When they contacted the assistant manager, the answer was no: they would not allow the animal to leave the store. This store has no relationship with an exotic vet and no plan in place to treat an animal in critical condition. Without proper intervention, advanced care, and a significant amount of work (which I was more than willing to provide), this baby will probably die a slow, painful, and PREVENTABLE death. Again, the staff in-store were kind and clearly wanted to do more. But management made the choice to prioritize policy and profit. That baby had a shot at a long and healthy life, and it was denied. This store profits off the love people have for their animals. But when it came time to act with compassion, the people in charge made it clear: policy and control mattered more than doing what was right.
May 18 · J WHey PeePs...I'm so glad Pet Supermarket has this self dog washing area in the store and it's pretty affordable... they also provide you with shampoo and conditioner, plus towels and blow dryer.. this is awesome !! You must try this out.
December 11 · Dexter RhodesI found their online order process and pick up very quick and easy.
June 24 · Reese zI came into the store and was not greeted by the cashier (a shorter woman with a low haircut), who had a noticeably rude attitude. I asked about crickets, and she told me they didn’t have any. However, when I checked the cricket bin myself, I found plenty. When I brought it to her attention, she abruptly cut me off and said, ‘Those are for our own reptiles,’ in a dismissive tone. I wasn’t even allowed to finish my sentence. I’ve never experienced this level of disrespect at a reptile store before—especially one I regularly support. Customer service means everything, and this kind of treatment is unacceptable.
