Choosing a pet store to bring a new family member home from is a significant decision that requires careful consideration. For those in the Marietta area who prefer to meet a puppy in person before making a commitment, Puppy Station offers a clear advantage. The store provides an opportunity for an immediate connection, which for some, like the customer who found "Gizmo," is an emotional and fulfilling experience. The cleanliness of the store and the seemingly healthy state of the puppies, as verified by a vet check-up, are positive points that contribute to a good initial experience. The presence of friendly and supportive staff is also a major factor, as they can help guide customers through what can be a very emotional and complex process.
However, it is crucial for potential buyers to be aware of the different perspectives on puppy sourcing. While one review speaks highly of their experience and the health of their puppy, another offers a more critical view, raising important questions about the ethical implications of pet store puppy sales. The second reviewer, while acknowledging the store's cleanliness and the good health of their specific puppy, strongly advises that prospective owners do their research. They point out that puppies from such establishments may come from commercial breeding operations (sometimes referred to as "puppy mills") and may not have the genetic health testing and pedigrees that are common from reputable, preservation breeders. They also mention that the cost can be comparable to or even more than what you might pay a reputable breeder for a dog with a verifiable background.
Ultimately, what makes Puppy Station worth choosing is a personal decision that depends on individual priorities and research. If you are a prospective pet owner who values the ability to meet and form an immediate connection with a puppy in a clean, physical location, and are comfortable with the store's business model, this establishment could be a good fit. The store provides transparent information about the puppies' backgrounds, allowing customers to do their own due diligence. For those in Georgia who are considering a puppy, Puppy Station offers a pathway to pet ownership that is different from both animal shelters and private breeders. It is recommended that anyone considering a purchase conduct thorough research on the specific breed and the source of the puppy to ensure they are making the most informed decision for their family and new pet.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I bought my puppy and couldn’t be MORE HAPPIER WITH MY EXPERIENCE!! I came in and had an almost immediate connection with a Shih Tzu puppy! Originally $ 4,700 but on sale for $2,400. This was just not in the price range for us at the time. We got a call a week later saying my baby was $ 1,800 and was extremely please with how they contacted ME and my husband who really wanted this baby. My puppy was registered and updated on all shots for his age and microchipped. I just took him to the vet today and he checked out so perfectly. I did do my research on the breed and this fit me and my family. This is our Gizmo ❤️. Thank you puppy station for a safe and clean environment. I want to specifically mention Hannah here at puppy station she helped us through the whole process and was so helpful and sweet and couldn’t have asked for better service! I attached pictures of our Gizmo when we bought him and now at his FOREVER HOME !
May 12 · Courtney HayesMy boyfriend and I went in one day to kill time and met our Italian greyhound puppy here. We couldn’t pass her up. Her confidence really stood out to us and we just felt bad leaving her there to be in the display case. I gave this place 4 stars solely because we lucked out in getting a healthy dog from a store like this and we wouldn’t have our little Iggy without this place. The negatives of this kind of business however outweighs the good. For starters, I fully support breeders- preservation breeders are the ONLY true ethical breeders. A license to breed does not mean ethical or of quality dogs that meet breed conformation are being produced by a license holder. Anybody that is remotely interested in getting a dog from here or petland need to understand that they can get puppies from real preservation breeders with all the genetic health testing and pedigrees they need to understand their puppies background for the same price or cheaper than what these stores sell dogs at.DO YOUR RESEARCH. Understand the breed you’re interested in before picking a random breed, these stores have all kinds of breeds, a lot of them not even purebreds, but mixes, like doodles and pomskies, just mixes in general you can rely on to have a solid temperament or characteristic traits you’d be able to rely on more for purebreds. These mixes are bred just because of their looks a lot of the time, and not bred for purpose other than that. If you are interested in buying a puppy from a store like this, READ ALL THE PAPERS AND EXPECT TO DO SOME DIGGING BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ALL AKC REGISTERED. **I’m talking about finding the owners of the sires and dams, getting in touch with the breeders, and finding out where these dogs come from. Lots of these dogs are shipped or driven from the Midwest. Which in its own can cause puppies behavioral issues like pottying in crates because they are so used to confined spaces. At an average of $4k a pup, these kinds of stores do not offer genetic health testing results, full AKC registration (most the time), they do not have the resources to put you directly into contact with the dogs breeders which is ALWAYS a red flag, and any preservation breeder or truly ethical breeder would NEVER send their pups out to a store like this.We lucked out with our dog being healthy. This store is actually cleaner than petland and I’d prefer people go here than the other if they really want to buy a puppy from a store, but I’m telling you it is SO worth the waitlist, cost, information, and quality you get from a REPUTABLE breeder. Please please please do your research and have breeds in mind you would be compatible with before you just pick out a random puppy.Adoption from a shelter is not for everyone, definitely not beginner dog owners. But supporting businesses that sell puppies like this rather than really looking into reputable breeders for the breed you’d want puts you more at risk for incompatibility, more at risk for having to rehome your dog.My iggy DID come from a puppy mill. Not a large scale evil operation full of abuse, which are out there. This place she came from was not horrible, but also not at all ideal either. I did find the ladies who bred her and the dams owner bred multiple breeds of dogs all throughout the year. Most reputable breeders have their parent dogs titled, whether in conformation dog shows, sports, or obedience, and usually they only breed one (sometimes two) breed(s). You want a breeder who is active in the breed and who provided ALL of the OFA health testing results you need to know which breed to breed, can be different. Especially if you’re paying top of the line pricing. In all, I can agree this isn’t the worst of the places out there, but it’s still not a practice I’d catch myself supporting again. The ONLY reason I got a puppy from here was because we did have a genuine connection with her and I hated the thought of leaving her to some family impulse buying such a fragile breed that can easily be hurt by kids who’s parents buy puppies without knowing jack, just to buy one
