Sean Casey Animal Rescue Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the vibrant, diverse borough of Brooklyn, New York, there are countless pets in need of a second chance. Sean Casey Animal Rescue stands as a pillar of the community, serving not only as a pet store in the sense of facilitating adoptions but as a comprehensive non-profit, no-kill animal rescue and shelter. Their mission, which has been active since 1998, is to aid unfortunate animals in the interest of a higher quality of life. This includes rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for a wide variety of animals—from dogs and cats to reptiles, birds, and small mammals. The organization's commitment to saving lives is evident in its reputation for taking in some of the most difficult medical cases that other shelters may not be equipped to handle.
Sean Casey Animal Rescue is more than a place to find a new pet; it is a community institution. As a volunteer-driven organization, it fosters a sense of collective responsibility for animal welfare. The services they offer extend beyond simple adoption, aiming to support the entire community of pet lovers and their companions. A customer review highlights this, describing the rescue as a "true neighborhood institution" where the staff are kind, sweet, and genuinely love all the animals. While experiences can vary, as with any large-scale rescue operation, the core mission remains focused on providing care and finding "forever homes" for every animal that passes through their doors.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very shady place! I just went there to adopt a kitten whom I have been calling about all week. They never told me he was “ill” but today he is all the sudden sick. The kitten is sharing a cage with another one so this is unsafe.Cory, Ana and the person at the front desk are very rude and plain dishonest.Got different stories from each one them. Please read the reviews as this is not an isolated case. Also you are not allowed to the dog kennels. ODD.The place is dirty and animals do not seem to be taken care of.I am attaching a picture of the suddenly sick kitten sharing the cage with another kitten.
June 13 · Johanna TrujilloCame here to walk some dogs one day and fell in love with a sweet dog. Came back here a few days later and adopted her! The staff was very kind, sweet, and you can instantly tell they love all of the animals! The adoption process was easy and straightforward, and we left with our sweet girl, May, the same day. Really love this place and how much you can tell everyone there cares. You can tell by the neighbors that stop and talk to you that this is a true neighborhood institution!
July 08 · JT McGuinnessI've been coming to Sean Casey rescue for years for pet supplies when I had my Japanese Chin. I recently adopted a beautiful shy Calico cat. Adoption was quick and easy. Staff is very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I also volunteer to dog walk. A Wonderful experience to socialize with the animals.
February 27 · Angela RoseI used to walk the dogs in 2021 and I had a blast with the little ones. I moved further away from the rescue so I stop visiting. I’m back to walk the dogs again today and I appreciate the staff offered me to walk more than one dog today. He is by himself handling all the walking requests and make things happen. I walked the little girl today. Her name is Star and she’s so playful and adorable. I’m sure she will find her forever parents soon. ❤️
December 22 · JocelynEasy and quick application and adoption process. I was able to meet dogs and walk them before deciding if it felt like a good fit. I was able adopt my dog within the same day! They were able to recommend supplies to me as a first time dog owner and provided me with a number of resources for vets, dog trainers, etc. In addition, you get a free vet check up within 30 days from a choice of local animal hospitals in the area. Make sure you have your references ready, they will call. Welcome home, Bailey!!
