What is worth choosing
Choosing West Lake Aquarium is about prioritizing expertise, quality, and a personalized experience over the generic convenience of a large chain store. In the delicate world of aquarium keeping, the health of your fish is paramount, and this is where West Lake Aquarium truly shines. The fact that the owner, Patrick, is a dedicated breeder of specialty fish like discus and angelfish means he has a level of practical, hands-on knowledge that is rare and invaluable. He understands the nuances of water parameters, nutrition, and behavior for these specific species, and his advice can save you from costly mistakes and heart-breaking losses. This is a crucial distinction that sets the store apart from competitors who may simply resell stock without the same depth of understanding or care.
Furthermore, the opportunity to purchase fish that are home-bred rather than mass-produced is a significant advantage. Home-bred fish are often more resilient and better prepared to thrive in a home aquarium. This commitment to healthy livestock and the supportive, community-oriented atmosphere makes West Lake Aquarium a clear choice for anyone serious about their hobby. While prices may vary, the value of the healthy fish and the expert guidance you receive far outweighs the cost. For residents of California, especially those in and around La Habra, this store is a vital resource for all their tropical fish needs, offering a level of service and quality that is difficult to find elsewhere. It’s a place where you can feel confident in your purchases and know that you have a knowledgeable partner in your passion for fish keeping.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The tanks looked dirty, and the overall cleanliness of the store was lacking. The prices for the fish were also quite high compared to other places. I wouldn't recommend this store if you're looking for a clean and affordable aquarium shopping experience. There are better options out there.
April 16 · John PaganiI’ve lived in la habra for over 10 plus yrs and I regret not knowing about this fish store! I’ve been going to Patrick’s(owner) fish store for about 2yr. Patrick is really a kind down to earth guy! He has a variety of fresh water fish and specialized in discus and Angel fish, which he breeds himself! If you’re around la habra or live in la habra go visit West Lake Aquarium for all your fish keeping needs.
October 16 · LACBFriendly and good selection. Lots of the fish are raised here at the shop.
December 28 · Crystal MuroFriendly Service , Great Selection of Fish and Supplies at Lowest Prices Around. I get My Guppies Here !!!
October 29 · mike flo20Patrick is the old man who owns it. I met him for some discuss at his store they were so healthy and exotic not the average discuss at all! They were so healthy a few month later I came for more. He is a talented fish breeder and breathe some of his fish in the house which is more of a sign of his talents not just a person who purchases fish and sells them like all the big box stores do! This man can help you have a healthy aquarium with healthy fish that breedIf you have the time to learn and have some money to spend this is an awesome place to come
