Christown Animal Hospital's features are defined by its wide range of services and its commitment to a specific, inclusive identity. The clinic identifies as a women-owned business and is noted as LGBTQ+ friendly, which is a significant highlight for clients who value supporting businesses with these characteristics. The broad scope of services, from routine check-ups to emergency care and even exotic animal care, is a major feature that makes them a potential one-stop solution for a variety of pet owners. However, client reviews present a more complex picture of the clinic's operations and service quality. One review points to serious concerns about staffing and continuity of care, stating that the doctor only works a few days a week and does not have a backup. This can be a critical issue, especially for a clinic that advertises itself as an emergency service. Another, much longer review details a "horrible experience," alleging a lack of transparency and communication, as well as a high-cost charge for minimal service. This client's account includes allegations of being yelled at by a staff member and being told they were no longer welcome at the clinic after questioning a dosage and a charge. Most alarmingly, the review alleges that the clinic routinely has pets seen by a vet tech instead of a licensed veterinarian and that prescriptions were given without a vet seeing the pet, which could be a serious breach of professional standards. A final point of concern in the review is the claim of a tech performing a dangerous procedure on a small puppy, causing it to scream in agony. These highly conflicting narratives—the clinic's claim of providing compassionate care versus the serious allegations of unprofessional conduct and negligence—are central to understanding this business.

Choosing a veterinary clinic is a decision that requires careful consideration, and in the case of Christown Animal Hospital, it means weighing a broad range of services against some very serious client concerns. On one hand, the hospital offers an extensive list of services, from routine wellness and dental care to emergency services and even care for exotic animals. Its identity as a women-owned and LGBTQ+ friendly business is a compelling feature for many in the community who wish to support inclusive businesses. The fact that they offer an online pharmacy, day care, and house calls adds to the convenience and value they present to the public. However, the decision must be made in light of the highly critical and detailed reviews. One review points to a lack of professional coverage and a concern about the sale of the business. The most alarming review, however, raises profound questions about the clinic’s operational practices, alleging a lack of communication, questionable billing practices, and the use of vet techs instead of licensed veterinarians for examinations and prescription writing. The accusation of a dangerous and painful procedure being performed on a puppy is a significant red flag. For a pet owner in Arizona, this creates a scenario where the advertised services and identity conflict with serious factual claims made by disgruntled customers. A responsible choice would involve a deep dive into these claims, perhaps cross-referencing with official licensing boards if necessary. While the clinic’s extensive service list and community-friendly identity may be appealing, the negative reviews suggest a potential risk to a pet's health and a challenging experience for the owner. It is a decision that requires careful thought, as the choice of a veterinary provider is a matter of trust, and that trust is called into question by the publicly available feedback.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Doctor Sandhu sold this place and he only works three days a week , besides that he takes his yearly vacation and doesn't leave a doctor their to cover for him ! I spent thousands of dollars over the years and recently found a animal hospital much better than this place , if you really care about your dog or cat you will stay away from this business .
March 08 · Mark PHorrible Experience today!I asked the vet if he could write a prescription for our dogs medicine vs. having their office fill it and charge us. The other two medicines we did pay for to be filled right there. I took the prescription for Clavamox to my regular pharmacy but they couldn't fill it due to the amount of medicine being too small.(normally an adult dose needed would be in a larger amount) They suggested I get it through Chewy.com. but when I called Chewy the vet told me that the Vet that wrote the prescription would have to call it in or it had to be faxed from the Vets office. I figured I might as well just go get the medicine from the Vets clinic after all since it was only a few dollars difference.I went back to our Vets office to give them back the prescription(we were charged $11 initially for just the Vet having to write the prescription). I explained to them that my pharmacy couldn't fill it and that I would just purchase the med through them. I asked the front desk girl if they could deduct the $11 we had to pay for the prescription to be written from the cost of the medicine and she said she had to ask the Vet. After waiting about 10-15 minutes I told them to just forget it and that I would pay the full price for the medication because my mom was waiting in a hot car outside and we were in a hurry. After the girl handed me the medicine without giving me any instructions, I noticed that I only got 30 mls. of the medicine when the original prescription was for 50 mls..My first thought was that I didn't have enough medicine to give him based on the instructions from the original prescription. I asked the girl why I only got 30 mls and told her that I didn't think it would be enough. She then told me she would call the vet out to talk to me. Dr. Sandhu Gurjit came out and he ghen explained to me that the medicine he wrote for was a higher concentration. I then told him okay and that I understood. Next, I heard him whisper to the front desk lady that I was not to be seen ever again and to note it on the account.U was completely taken aback and questioned them as to why I could ever come back when all I was asking was for clarification on the dosage. The girl told me that I was yelling and being aggressive. Funny because my tone never got nasty and my voice had never gotten loud and in fact it was the girl that started yelling at me!I told their office I would be making a report to the Board of Veterinary Medicine because this office makes it a routine to have customers think their pet is being seen by a Veterinarian yet on many occasions my dogs were NOT seen by the Vet but instead were seen by the Vet Tech. Heather. On those occasions when she saw my dogs I was told that she was going to call the Veterinarian on the phone. My dogs also received prescription medicine without being visually seen by a licensed Veterinarian. In other visits with my animals I was told that my pet would be seen by the Vet and that that "Vet" would then call another Vet over the phone to confirm the plan of care. In other words I was lied to for a few years until I finally wised up and asked Heather myself if she was a Veterinarian and she then told me "no" that she was a Vet Tech..This office runs their clinic without a Veterinarian at the clinic most of the days and is lying to patrons making them think their pet is being seen by a Veterinarian. Finally, I had brought my barely 1 lb.,6 month old, Chihuahua in for vomiting and diarrhea and this Vet Tech Heather went and shoved a wooden handled, dry, Qtip an inch and a half up my puppies rectum causing her to bleed from her rectum and excruciating pain for days. Sooo dangerous! I had to fight to hold back tears as my puppy screamed in agony. Think twice about taking any animal to this Flop House of a clinic!FORCED TO LEAVE 1 Star
