When considering Mt Airy Animal Hospital for your pet’s care, it is essential to consider the feedback from other clients, as experiences can vary. Some reviews from real customers have raised concerns about the quality of service and communication. One review noted a lack of compassion and communication from a doctor, stating that they felt "disconnected" and that the doctor failed to provide treatment advice for their cat's fleas. Another customer described the clinic as "poorly run," "not very clean or pleasant," and commented on the unfriendly and unwelcoming front desk staff. This client also mentioned a long wait time in the lobby with a sick dog and decided to leave after 30 minutes without being spoken to. While some clients have had positive experiences and praised the staff's care, these conflicting reviews are an important factor to consider. The choice of a veterinarian is a deeply personal one, and finding a practice that aligns with your expectations for communication, transparency, and overall care is crucial. It is recommended that you do your own research, perhaps read more recent reviews, and make a decision based on what you believe is the best fit for you and your beloved pet. The best way to evaluate a vet clinic is often to schedule a routine visit to assess the staff's demeanor and the clinic's environment before you need to deal with a more serious health issue.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My experience at mount airy animal hospital deserves a 1 star in my opinion! The Doctor was not very compassionate with the care of my cat. He was there to have bloodwork. And I heard her say under her breath that my cat was loaded with fleas, and yet she never gave me any treatment advice or anything. I felt that crystal was very disconnected. Won't be going back there again!
September 04 · Gwendolyn SteadThis is a very poorly run vet clinic that is rapidly going downhill. It is not very clean or pleasant, and the front desk staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. It is the type of place where people avoid making eye contact when you have a question or a problem. Culture.I just walked out after sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes with my sick dog without anyone even talking to me. We have been customers for 2 years, and I just can't take it anymore.
July 17 · William SturkeyI really wanted to like this vet because it's close to my house and there seems to be not a ton of vets/groomers etc in this area. I brought in a cat that's my neighbors cat that she has asked me to take on as she can no longer care for it. I wanted to make sure the cat was healthy first so I brought him here. After they brought us to the back the gentlemen went over options for vaccinating the cat etc. This was a waste of time as the cat was getting more and more anxious having been taken to the vet by a stranger and i already discussed this over the phone. Right before they were about to evaluate the cat an emergency came in and the tech informed me I would have to wait while they take care of the emergency. I said " really but I don't want to sit here forever it's not my cat and it's freaking out" to which the guy said well sorry and walked away.40 mins later the cat is now fully hissing and loosing it's mind. I coax it back into the carrier as I intended to leave and this is when the vet finally returns. (A new vet briefly stepped in to make me repeat myself as to why I am there for the 3rd time. Then she left for 5 minutes to get a towel.) When they finally were ready to examine the cat it was in full freak out mode and they had to hold it down and wrestle with it. This seemed overly cruel. They then gave the cat back to me blaming the cat saying it needs meds for vet visits. Lady your office stressed both of us out. Very unprofessional almost an hour in total when the exam took 10 mins.Editing to add that I would never ever ever bring my dog here. The staff was indifferent at best. But thanks for the response.
April 08 · Victoria LI have been a patron for years with different Drs. There is a change over problem!! Everyone seems to dodge dr Lauderdale Today!!! Well last week, I booked an appointment for my reactive dog, asking for male to be present last week. Appt was Tuesday at 3pm. Got a call on Monday saying a male would not be there and to reschedule for today, Wednesday 8/13/25. I was given time slots, I chose 5pm. My dog is a 110lb pit rescue, I let him be Himself!! (Last visit it was only women there that couldn’t get blood work cause they couldn’t hold him) so I’d have to pay another dr. Visit fee cause they couldn’t!!! Fee would have to happen because techs were women and so was the interim Dr who asked me to get on the floor during the visit and Still Pay Her!! Mind you I’m paying nothing under $250! It was disrespectful how she said it and complexions. Nonetheless, paid Dr fee but my boy didn’t get bloodwork done. Scandal!!! Anywho, today was Awful!! I come in 45 minutes after their rescheduled time, sitting in the parking lot, calling them, feeling like I’m getting on their nerves in a THUNDERSTORM!! Still thinking they are prepared for my dog that needs a man and am told it’s just women !! And Dr Lauderdale who I didn’t want to see!! (She did good today) yet, the tech told me the men were gone at 5pm appt. I WAS Called by YALL to reschedule for A Man that could handle my dog!! Time slots were offered and I chose and I chose this, yet I had a 3pm appt the day before. She was argumentative, hostile and I am questioning the way she handled my animal. Loved this place but now my Roscoe is good til September 2026, it gives me time to to find another place. I NO longer trust Mt. Airy Hospital with the Health of my animal. I hate that I Approve This Message!!
