What is worth choosing Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center?
For Connecticut pet owners, the decision to choose Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is a decision to have a comprehensive and compassionate medical partner for every stage of a pet's life, from routine wellness to life-saving emergency care. While many veterinary clinics can handle basic health needs, few possess the advanced capabilities of Pieper Memorial. The peace of mind that comes from knowing a local facility is equipped with an MRI machine and staffed by specialists who can treat conditions like cancer or neurological disorders is invaluable. It eliminates the stress of having to travel far or transfer a pet to another facility during an already difficult time, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
Perhaps the most compelling reason to choose Pieper Memorial is their unwavering commitment to compassionate care, which is deeply felt by pet owners even in the most painful of times. The provided reviews, which describe end-of-life care, are a powerful testament to this. A veterinarian getting on eye level with an owner to deliver difficult news, a staff that is calm and efficient, and a facility that understands the emotional toll on the human as much as the medical needs of the pet—these are the qualities that transcend standard veterinary services. The review that mentions the team's ability to make the loss "bearable" speaks volumes about their professionalism and humanity, demonstrating that they are not just healers but also caregivers and supporters for the entire family unit. While the financial aspect of such care can be daunting, as noted by a client, the acknowledgment of this stress and the empathy shown proves that the hospital is aware of and sensitive to the complex realities of pet ownership.
Choosing Pieper Memorial is a proactive decision to provide your pet with the highest level of medical care available in the region. It is a choice for a team that is prepared for the unexpected, with the skill to save a pet’s life and the kindness to comfort an owner when a cure is not possible. For any pet family in Connecticut that values advanced medicine and profound compassion, Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is not just an option—it is the best and most reliable choice for all their veterinary needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Your care at the most painful of times with my feline Pepper was invaluable. Your staff is warm and caring and understands that although the pet is in need at that time, so is their owner. I knew that the news I was to be receiving on that last visit was not going to be good, however, your staff made it bearable and was very much sympathetic to my pain at that time. Your professionalism knows no bounds. If I could rate your facility higher than a 10 I would. Thank you again for the love and compassion that you showed not only myself but my precious girl Pepper. And taking care of her sister in the future, I will make your facility at the top of the list for emergency services. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciated the way that the veterinarian sat down and got on my eye level to tell me the results of the preliminary testing. I know it has to be hard for any person to share grieving news with another human being (I'm a nurse and have done so hundreds of times) and he did that marvelously. The vet tech was very efficient and calm while performing her tasks. She put both myself and Pepper at ease when it was needed the most. The only thing that I would like to see different however, I know that it can't be, was feeling like their services in terminating my cat's life was viewed more on the financial rather than the emotional. (Which I know is a means to the ends.) The decision of that gratitude, then at the same time, having your bill shoved across the table as you're crying over the ultimate loss, just so they know that they are going to receive payment at time of services rendered, is a bitter pill to swallow. I'm also incredibly humbled and thankful that the cost of the euthanasia was waived, making such a daunting task of financially being to care for Pepper possible. Your empathy in a time of loss, and your compassion hold no bounds.
August 10 · heatherd1971 dominiceWhile the visit had an outcome of Lily crossing the rainbow bridge. We could not be more pleased with how the whole experience was handled from start to finish. The doctor was absolutely amazing. They rest of the staff was great as well. The doctor was absolutely amazing. Very kindhearted, caring and empathetic. She also explained things very well. The doctor handled everything so graciously.
June 23 · Amy HackworthMy pet bunny has been coming here for almost 10 years now (since 2014/2015). George was neutered here. Dr. Albin performed it and everything was great. George the bunny has been to the ER here a few times. He gets an annual check up here too and comes when he is sick. We love the exotic animal department. Rachel is so nice. They have given us an extra pee pad when George has had accident on the towel in his carrier. They gave George some romaine lettuce and cilantro. They seem to care here. They will give you your options and are informative. I like the paper they give you with the information about your visit. 4 stars because of the price in general but I guess it could be worse. The self-serve coffee machine is excellent.
July 20 · Kelly PryorPIEPER is such an AMAZING and DEDICATED team of individuals who helped save my dog’s life! From the Urgent Care in Madison where my dog’s surgical issue was diagnosed (thank you Dr. Kimball and Marissa the Vet Tech), to the staff, techs, nurses, and surgeons at the Main Campus in Middletown - my dog is happy, healthy, and thriving thanks to everybody who treated him!The surgeons called with TWICE daily updates on my dog’s condition (Dr. Hundal and Dr. Mossman gave me such detailed and helpful updates), and they practiced medicine with such care and consideration for the fragility of my dog’s surgical condition.I am BEYOND grateful for everything that was done for my dog and without this team, I know I wouldn’t be so lucky to still have my dog by my side.Thank you for saving this very special animal, he is my baby!
August 03 · Aly KingIf it wasn't for the receptionist's quick call for triage. I'm not sure the dog would be here today. And every interaction with every person following the initial experience was kind, courteous, professional, and made me feel like they cared about my dog and his outcome.Price and outstanding feeling of efficiency and confidence throughout visit what stood up most during this emergency visit
