Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic Introduce
For many pet owners in Rhode Island, the decision to spay or neuter a beloved dog or cat is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. It's a choice that not only impacts the individual animal's health but also contributes to the well-being of the entire community by helping to control pet overpopulation. In this crucial area of veterinary care, the Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic in Warwick has established itself as a well-known resource. As a part of the larger Potter League for Animals, this clinic focuses on providing high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter services to make this essential procedure accessible to more people.
The clinic's mission is rooted in a commitment to animal welfare. They operate with the goal of reducing the number of homeless animals and promoting pet health through preventative care. They understand that the cost of veterinary services can be a significant barrier for many families, which is why they offer a subsidized model. This approach allows them to deliver critical surgical services at a more affordable price point than many traditional veterinary hospitals. However, as with any high-volume, low-cost model, the experience can vary from person to person. While many clients have expressed immense gratitude for the quality of care and the financial relief provided, others have had different experiences, citing concerns about communication and post-operative care. This is an important consideration for pet owners as they weigh their options, especially for pets with pre-existing conditions or anxiety.
Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic is located at 235 Elm St, Warwick, RI 02888, USA. Its location is convenient for residents of Warwick and the surrounding areas. The facility is committed to accessibility, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This ensures that the clinic is available to all members of the community, making it easier for every pet owner to bring their animal in for care. The clinic operates on an appointments-recommended basis. Due to high demand for their low-cost services, it is crucial to plan ahead. Pet owners should be prepared for potential wait times for scheduling an appointment, as the clinic is a popular choice for spay and neuter surgeries.
While the core focus of the Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic is spay and neuter surgeries, they offer a number of other services that contribute to their community-centric mission. Their offerings are designed to support pet owners and the wider goal of animal welfare.
- Spay & Neuter Services: This is the clinic's primary service, providing low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats to combat pet overpopulation.
- Vaccine Clinic: They offer vaccinations to help protect pets from common diseases, making preventative care more accessible.

- Community Focus: As a non-profit organization, the Potter League’s efforts go beyond the surgical table. Their involvement in animal rescue, community service, and pet education showcases their dedication to the overall well-being of animals in the region.
- Specialization: The clinic's specialization in spay and neuter procedures means they perform these surgeries frequently, which can lead to a high level of surgical expertise. One customer review highlighted that their cat's spay was "very well done" and the recovery was quick.
- Informational Support: The clinic provides a wealth of information before and after procedures, as noted by a client who felt "a ton of information" was provided to ensure a smooth process.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Potter league took such good care of my baby a few weeks ago. Her spay was very well done and she recovered quickly. They gave you a ton of information before and after to ensure the process was smooth. Very thankful for them taking such good care of my baby & will be returning to them for my second cats spay.
August 10 · Deanna PenneyI don’t know where to start because it’s taken me almost 1 year to finally write a review. All I can say is PLEASE stay away from this place if you have an anxious dog or if they are older. The staff is so incredibly rude, especially Hollie I believe was her name. They are so dismissive and passive aggressive, i literally cried in the waiting room. I went into this so scared because my boy is an anxious guy and i knew this would be hard for him. I got a $1,000 quote from his vet and PL was charging around $300 at the time I believe so I couldn’t beat that price difference. But if I could go back and invest that $700 (I would!!!) for my boy to be taken cared of more gently and at least I know the staff at his vet office is kind, supportive, and patient. My dog was in a cone for 1 whole month and his incision didn’t heal/close for almost 2 months. When I got him back he was so extremely swollen, bruised (very dark purple-red) and still bleeding (they leave an open hole in the scrotum fyi which his vet found odd - it’s too graphic to post on google but trust me you would’ve been terrified), I’m assuming for drainage but it would’ve been nice to know before hand if this was normal since it was so hard to find similar stories online. I was basically in panic mode for the full 2 months. This experience wasn’t only hard for my dog but for me as someone who has anxiety around my dogs health and well being. I have 0 clue what they did to him because he’s never been the same ever since (he absolutely shakes and trembles hard going to the vet NOW/AFTER his surgery but before he loved it and had 0 aggression towards the staff). I will have to live with that regret for the rest of my life. This is basically a chop shop for dogs and cats. If you can avoid it please do. I understand the cheap cost but that speaks for the quality of care as well. This is your baby’s life and health, if possible, invest in a better hospital and team to take care of your loved one.
May 24 · Maritza MalikThis is an amazing clinic. Everyone is so caring and professional. The way they treat not only the pets but the owners shows just how much they love their job. When you first walk in you’re greeted by the friendly staff. They make you feel like everything is going to be fine and they will take very good care of your fur baby. I highly recommend them.
August 05 · Cheryl LePageOverall, it was a somewhat great experience. The cats were good, nothing went wrong. 🙏They do a very thorough after care explanation and they even say if you have questions once you take the cats home you can call them. Good luck getting them on the phone. My issue: I felt a little dismissed and rushed when I tried to ask them anything. Both at drop off and if I was lucky to get them on the phone. It didn’t feel like a friendly place for a first time cat owner. It’s very business like / technical. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing as long as they do good with the pets!
July 04 · Sarah CI brought my kitten to get spayed and although everyone was helpful with the process the old lady at the front desk was horrible. She was insanely rude while explaining the healing process and charged me extra for being 3 minutes late due to traffic. Which what ever but my main issue with her was her mishandling her in the cat carrier. My cat carrier had a broken latch so u have to hold it on the bottom (which it says on a note on top and I told them all abt it) and while she brought me my cat she was holding it by the handle and was swaying the poor cat inside. She then while explaining not to make loud noises made the noises she said not to make directly into the cat carrier. Overall the doctors did a good job and the rest of the staff was great but if you are looking for respect for your cat do not let this lady handle them AT ALL.
