This ensures that Dr. Tudor can dedicate his full attention to your specific concerns without interruption. For a client seeking a consultation, the process is streamlined to be as efficient as possible. Clients are asked to send in their dog’s medical records, lab results, and any relevant X-rays or ultrasounds beforehand, allowing Dr. Tudor to prepare and make the most of the in-person meeting. This meticulous preparation is a testament to the level of care and personalized attention that The Well Dog Place provides. The calm and focused environment sets it apart from a busy, traditional veterinary office and is a major part of what makes the consultation experience so valuable.
The Well Dog Place’s service model is highly specialized, concentrating on holistic health consultations rather than traditional veterinary treatments. This unique focus allows them to provide expert, in-depth care that complements a pet’s existing medical care.
Services offered at The Well Dog Place include:
Holistic Health Consultations: Dr. Tudor works one-on-one with dog owners to develop comprehensive holistic programs. These consultations are in-person and focus on creating a total health plan for your dog, whether they are healthy or have a medical condition. He listens carefully to the dog’s history and helps the owner understand the diagnostic information they already have.
Nutritional Plans and Natural Treatments: A major focus is on nutritional management, including designing homemade diets for dogs and puppies. Dr. Tudor also recommends natural treatments and supplements, such as Chinese herbs, essential oils, and targeted supplements to manage various health conditions. This approach has shown remarkable results for a range of issues, from allergies to cancer.
Senior Dog Care: They provide specialized health plans for senior dogs, focusing on maintaining their health and quality of life as they age. This includes advice on weight control and managing age-related issues.
Lab Work and Medical Records Analysis: While The Well Dog Place does not perform lab work or X-rays themselves, they excel at analyzing and interpreting existing medical records, lab results, and imaging (like X-rays and ultrasounds) from your traditional veterinarian. This helps them formulate a precise and effective holistic plan.
Cold Laser Therapy: They offer cold laser therapy, a non-invasive treatment that can help with pain management and accelerate healing for a variety of conditions.
Pet Emergency Consultation: While not a full-service emergency hospital, they can offer guidance and support during a pet emergency by analyzing existing medical data and providing holistic advice.
The practice is a vital resource for dog owners looking for alternative or complementary care, filling a crucial gap in the traditional veterinary field.
The Well Dog Place is defined by several key features and highlights that set it apart from a typical veterinary office. These aspects are what make it a destination for clients seeking a different kind of care.
Dr. Tudor’s Expertise and Philosophy: Dr. Ken Tudor’s over 40 years of experience and his specialization in holistic and nutritional veterinary medicine are major highlights. He is a recognized expert in pet nutrition, with a history of writing for PetMD and serving on national task forces. His belief in proactive wellness and the power of natural treatments is the foundation of the practice.
Personalized and Patient Consultations: As one review notes, Dr. Tudor is “very knowledgeable, patience and caring.” He takes the time to listen to owners' concerns and thoroughly explain their dog's condition and the recommended holistic plan. This one-on-one, in-person consultation without the dog present ensures total focus on the educational approach, which clients appreciate greatly.
Remarkable Client Results: The provided testimonials, such as the story of a dog's cancer going into remission with natural remedies, are powerful examples of the practice's success. These stories of dogs thriving and living pain-free lives speak volumes about the effectiveness of their holistic approach. Another client's dog with severe heart problems is hopefully responding well to treatment, demonstrating the trust clients place in Dr. Tudor’s guidance.
Compassionate and Supportive Staff: The staff, particularly Taylor, is noted for being "super sweet" and friendly, providing quick email replies and a supportive atmosphere. This compassionate care extends beyond the dog to the entire family, helping them navigate difficult health decisions.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1In March 2023, my dog Chico was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (cancer). The traditional veterinarian wanted to do an invasive spinal cord procedure as well as chemotherapy. Not only had I already spent $13,000, but it would’ve cost me a lot. I decided to try natural remedies first and that’s when I found Dr Tudor. He gave me 6 different tinctures- which I thought was a lot. Turns out, a few drops of each was all it took for the cancer to be in remission a year later! My dog is cancer free and thriving. He’s in no pain and was back to his same self after a few weeks. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Dr Tudor. I have the upmost respect and recommendation of him.
June 13 · Vanessa RamirezSo happy I found this vet. He is very knowledgeable, patience and caring. His staff is also very nice and friendly. Taylor is super sweet and she also replies to my emails very quick. My dog has severe heart problems but i hope she respond well to the treatment ...
October 09 · Monica MaldonadoJust started taking my two dogs here and am very pleased with this holistic veterinarian. He’s very good with my dogs and takes time to explain everything. My dogs are very comfortable with Dr. Tudor.
March 25 · Kathy S.Absolutely amazing, we couldn't possibly be happier at the Well Dog. Our older dog Indiana has arthritis and Dr. Tudor was the first one to actually teach us about the condition and what can be done about it. He cares about your pocket too so don't think he will propose any unreal extravaganzas : we have been able to afford a very good treatment plan for Indiana for a very reasonable price! Also, the atmosphere is just so relaxed and welcoming, so different from so many other clinics we've been to. Crystal is also super helpful as well. No complaints whatsoever, we are just thankful for having found this great place.
November 20 · Natalia BrazaoI regret ever going to this “holistic”vet. The first time I took my 8 lb, 12 year old Yorkie, they took him to a different room and closed the door to draw his blood. I wondered why a holistic vet would do that, but figured they do that at regular vets, not Modern Animal ( another vet I take my pup to that believes in letting u stay with your pet because it’s less stressful for the pet and owner), which I thought would be also practiced at any Holistic vet. I heard my boy crying way too much and his nails scratching across the metal table. After a while of hearing him in distress I had to knock on the door. When I finally opened the door he had a muzzle on and was so stressed. He has a heart condition so of course him being stressed is very worrisome to me. I feel that there should’ve been consideration for the fact that I have a relationship with my dog and have had him since he was a puppy. Once the doctor left the room I was able to hold my boy, tell him stay and he was very still allowing the nurse to easily draw his blood. That was the first red flag. Then we tried to wean him off his diuretics since they are very bad for the kidneys and this was my main reason for coming here. To try to make a long story shorter… I feel there was a lack of communication and follow up. Sometimes I had questions and called or emailed and would not get a response until days later and after repeated attempts on my part. I feel that because of the lack of communication my dog ended up almost going back into heart failure or at the beginning stages of heart failure. His heart condition progressed as well. His heart grew even more. I don’t feel I was properly guided on the journey to get him off his diuretic and again this was the whole point for me to bring him here. The lack of communication and follow up just really really makes me feel like they don’t genuinely care. I even sent a couple emails about what happened to my pup with questions some time back and never got a response at all. They are only a two person team, so maybe they have too much to handle. After all that my dog is back on diuretics at a higher dose as well as a higher dose of vetmedin. Thankfully, he is stable again. Which reminds me… my pups kidney values kept increasing even with the tinctures Dr Tudor had him on. I’m very disappointed with our overall experience. I agree with someone else who said he is not a true “natural care” holistic vet and i do not feel he is patient. Please look elsewhere and if you still decide to bring your pup here, be on high alert. Do your own research and don’t expect any follow up or to be able to easily communicate.
