Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners navigating the vibrant and often demanding landscape of New York City, having a trusted and reliable veterinary partner is absolutely essential. Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, conveniently located at 44 Union Sq E, New York, NY 10003, is a destination that offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services, from routine care to more complex procedures. As an animal hospital, it provides a more comprehensive suite of services than a simple vaccination clinic, making it a convenient choice for pets needing a variety of health services. Their mission is to provide quality, accessible pet care, ensuring that pets in the city receive the attention they need to live happy, healthy lives. The clinic’s location in Union Square East is a major advantage, situating it at the intersection of several key neighborhoods and public transit lines. The hospital's approach is to provide professional and compassionate care, recognizing that a visit to the vet can be a source of anxiety for both pets and their owners. They strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment, with a staff that is trained to handle pets with love and care, a quality that is frequently mentioned in positive customer feedback. This blend of professional services and a caring environment makes them a key player in the New York City pet care community.
Customer experiences, as with any service, can sometimes be a mix of highs and lows. The reviews for Vetco Total Care in Union Square provide a clear picture of this duality. One pet owner's "original review" praises the staff for being "friendly and treated my cat Dorothea with so much love." They were particularly happy that their "anxious shy cat" felt comfortable, highlighting the staff’s compassionate approach. This positive experience, coupled with what they considered "great prices," led them to "highly recommend" the hospital. This kind of feedback is invaluable, as it speaks directly to the quality of care and the rapport that the staff builds with their patients and clients. However, an "update" to this same review details a completely different experience on a subsequent visit with a different cat. The customer was "disrespected and frustrated" by a different staff member who seemed "rude" and refused to administer a rabies shot based on an "internal policy" that contradicted what was told to them just two weeks prior. This review underscores the challenges that can arise from staff inconsistency and lack of clear communication, which is a key consideration for anyone using a new service. Another review, however, reinforces the positive aspect, with a customer noting that the "entire team was so nice" and "were able to help" their mom's cat, who was not easy to handle. These reviews collectively suggest that while the hospital’s potential for exceptional care is high, consistency in staff training and policy communication is an area for improvement. For potential clients, it is helpful to be aware of this and to come prepared with all necessary documentation and a list of questions to ensure a smooth visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1UPDATE (8/30): sadly, my second visit was the complete opposite. I brought my other cat, frida, for a rabies shot and the front desk was extremely rude to me (not same staff as last visit). even worse, I was told they wouldn’t give her the vaccine due to an internal policy, even though my cat dorothea received the exact same vaccine here just two weeks ago. they said since i’m traveling abroad they wouldn’t give her the shot, however two weeks ago i mentioned travel plans openly (the staff even shared a list of clinics I could go to get a pet travel certificate). I came all the way from astoria for this appointment and left feeling disrespected and frustrated. the lack of consistency between staff and the unprofessional treatment at the front desk completely changed my impression of this clinic. can’t put in words how sad today was.Original review: I am beyond happy and satisfied with the service at vetco union square! the whole staff was friendly and treated my cat dorothea with so much love! she’s usually an anxious shy cat and the fact she felt very comfortable there made me the happiest. also the prices are great. highly recommend.
August 30 · Géssica FigueiredoThis was our first visit with my mom's cat. He had an issue with his paw and needed his vaccines. The entire team was so nice. My mom's cat wasn't very easy to handle but they were able to help him. We are definitely coming back with our 2 cats in a few weeks.
March 20 · Alana GuionyI’m incredibly grateful for the outstanding team. I brought my kitten in for an emergency and was seen the same day. From the moment I arrived, every staff member was kind, professional, and attentive. The vet, Dr. Bridget Ball she was amazing! not only did she provide gentle, thorough care, but she also took the time to answer all of my questions and ease my worries. I truly appreciate how supportive and compassionate the entire team was. Thank you for treating my kitten with such love and care.
August 05 · amanda pI booked my appointment a few days before easily on the app. since my dog is groomed here and he loves coming here I thought it would be a good idea to keep it all under one roof & I was right, my dog needed a vaccination. From start to finish we had a great experience. Reception was welcoming and the vet tech and doctor were exceptional. They genuinely care for your pet. We are going back next month to have his teeth cleaned and get 2 more vaccinations.
July 15 · Stephanie ScannellHuge thanks to Dr. Mac Guinness, the amazing front desk team, and the awesome vet techs at Vetco for taking such great care of my sweet Coconut! From the moment we walked in, everyone was so kind, helpful, and supportive—I instantly felt like Coco was in the best hands.Coco had to have a mastectomy because of a tumor, and even though it was a tough surprising situation, Dr. Mac Guinness took the time to explain everything clearly, from the diagnosis to the surgery and what to expect afterward. That kind of care and communication made such a big difference.Coconut is a very special rescue who’s already been through so much in her life. Knowing she’s being treated with so much love and compassion means the world to me. I can’t thank you all enough for everything you’re doing to help her stay strong, safe, and so loved. We appreciate you more than words can say!
