Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce
For pet owners across New Jersey, ensuring the health and well-being of our beloved companions is a top priority. When it comes to routine veterinary care, such as vaccinations and wellness checks, finding a convenient and affordable option can make all the difference. Vetco Vaccination Clinic in West Orange, a name many New Jersey residents have come to know, provides an accessible solution for essential pet health services. This article offers an in-depth overview of what this clinic has to offer, its key features, and what you can expect from a visit, all from a local perspective.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic operates as a walk-in or appointment-based service located within Petco stores, providing a streamlined and accessible way to handle a pet's basic health needs. Unlike a full-service veterinary hospital, Vetco focuses specifically on preventative care, which is crucial for keeping pets healthy and happy. This includes everything from routine vaccinations to essential parasite prevention and microchipping. For many New Jersey families, this model offers a practical alternative to a traditional vet, especially for routine check-ups that don't require extensive diagnostics or surgical procedures.
The core of Vetco's appeal is its mission to make pet care more affordable and convenient. By operating within an existing retail space, they reduce overhead costs and pass those savings on to pet parents. This can be a significant benefit, especially for those with multiple pets or for routine annual vaccinations. The clinic’s structure is designed for efficiency, allowing pet owners to get in, get the necessary services, and get on with their day. While a full-service vet is essential for emergencies and complex health issues, Vetco fills a critical role by making sure preventative care—the foundation of good health—is not neglected due to cost or time constraints.

June 29 · Kayan HayeDO NOT take your dog to this Vetco under any circumstances.I have three dogs (small, medium, and large breeds), and my oldest—a 9-year-old—has been to several Vetcos over the years and this location is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.I brought my smallest dog (7 lbs) for his annual vaccines. I texted "3 I’m here” as instructed—no reply. I waited 3 minutes, still nothing. Knowing how disorganized some Vetcos can be, I walked in. Everyone except the vet and nurse (who were cleaning) was just chatting away—talking about clothes, weekend plans, and completely ignoring me.I stood in the line for 5 minutes while the staff continued their conversation. Finally, the nurse told them to check me in. They barely asked for my dog’s name and just told me to sign. I asked, “Aren’t you going to weigh him or ask if he has any symptoms?” They said, “Not necessary,” and went right back to chitchatting. After waiting even longer, a staff member finally just waved for me to go in. There were no other dogs or people ahead of me. The vet was rough. She forced the liquid vaccine and rabies shot on my tiny dog like he was aggressive or uncooperative. But he’s the opposite: sweet, calm, and extremely well-behaved. There was absolutely no reason to handle him with such force. At other Vetco locations, the staff actually interact with the animals, make notes, weigh them, and at the very least pretend to care.. They usually take a moment to understand the dog’s personality and respond accordingly, something this vet could’ve easily done if she had taken even one minute to try. Before leaving, I asked the vet if this was it because in the past, my small dog has always had 3–4 shots spaced out over two visits due to his size. For 4 years, that’s been the routine. They insisted, “No, he’s an adult dog now. No second visit needed.” I even asked them to double-check, and they confirmed again that no follow-up was needed. Here, it felt like I was a burden and they were doing me a favor. The only person who was kind and welcoming was the Asian man at the cashier.Later that day, my dog became extremely agitated, unable to walk or even get up. He was unresponsive, and it was terrifying. I called an emergency vet who immediately said this location had handled the situation irresponsibly. Due to his size and breed, he should have had the vaccines spaced out, just like every other year.Thankfully, my little guy is okay now, but this could’ve ended very differently. Please don’t take your pets here. If you can, drive to the Clifton or Totowa locations. They’re worth the extra time. They treat both you and your pets with actual care and respect. This Vetco? Absolutely not.
July 29 · The ReviewerDr. Massimiliano Musa labeled my cat as ‘aggressive’ and even said he was banned from returning, simply because he was hiding and hissing out of fear. Despite that, they were able to vaccinate him without anyone being scratched or bitten. Instead of recognizing that he was just scared, the doctor suggested sedation and refused to see him again, claiming he’s a ‘risk.’ Isn’t handling fearful cats part of proper veterinary training? This seems completely unreasonable.
August 17 · Angie DWorst experience ever , the Vet refused to do a fiv text because it’s a Bengal cat . He was telling me that he went to school to Learn about cats and he can’t do test on BENGALS because they are not regular cat , when I showed him a pics of another bengal cat ( melanistic) he said no problem, because it’s domestic cat , when I said it’s a bengal , he said NO , it’s not a bengal . Please tell me , which school did he go , to be such an idiot !!!!??? I hope today he will do his home work and learn something else about bengals !
November 27 · Liubov WeirMy pet didn’t get groomed today. I was told 11:30 was my appointment. When I arrived I waited 10 minutes before I tracked someone down to help. Multiple associates saw me standing there and no one asked if I needed help. Then I was told the groomer was too busy with another dog and sent a message that my appointment was for 11 so I missed it. Horrible service, no courtesy to customers and she didn’t give me the courtesy to come speak to me. This was a reminder of why I only took my pet to be groomed at Petco once before. The last time they burned his ears. I’m so frustrated to have wasted my time even trying to give them my business.
