Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce
For many Massachusetts pet owners, keeping up with routine vaccinations and preventative care can be a challenge, both in terms of time and cost. Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located inside the Petco at 473 State Rd North in Dartmouth, offers a unique and accessible solution. This clinic is specifically designed to provide low-cost, preventative veterinary services for dogs and cats. Unlike a full-service animal hospital that handles complex medical issues, Vetco focuses on essential wellness services, such as vaccinations, microchipping, and pest prevention. This specialization allows them to streamline their operations, making pet care more affordable and convenient for local families.
The clinic operates on an appointment-required basis, which is a key part of its model. By booking a time slot, pet owners can plan their visit and minimize wait times, although some customer feedback suggests that the schedule can sometimes run behind. The primary goal of Vetco is to make pet health maintenance straightforward and budget-friendly. This can be especially beneficial for pet parents who have multiple animals or are on a fixed income. The clinic’s location within a Petco store adds a layer of convenience, allowing you to handle your pet’s health needs and stock up on supplies in a single trip.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic is located inside the Petco at 473 State Rd North, Dartmouth, MA 02747, USA. Situated in a well-trafficked commercial area of Dartmouth, the location is easy to find for residents across the region. Being part of a larger retail store means there is ample parking, making it a stress-free trip from your car to the clinic.
Accessibility is a notable feature of this location. The facility offers a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom. These amenities ensure that all community members, regardless of their mobility needs, can comfortably and safely access the clinic. The presence of a restroom on-site is also a helpful convenience. The combination of its convenient location and commitment to accessibility makes the clinic a practical choice for a wide range of pet owners in Massachusetts.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic specializes in a core set of preventative veterinary services, making it an excellent resource for routine pet care. The clinic's offerings include:
Dog and Cat Vaccinations: They offer a full range of core and lifestyle-based vaccines for both dogs and cats, including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and feline leukemia. They also offer packages for puppies, kittens, and adult pets to make vaccination schedules easy to follow.
Microchipping: Vetco provides microchipping services, which are a vital way to help ensure your pet can be identified and returned to you if they ever get lost.
Pest and Parasite Prevention & Testing: The clinic offers heartworm, flea, and tick prevention products, as well as testing services to check for these common parasites. This includes diagnostic testing and fecal tests.
A Nail Trim: While primarily focused on health, they also offer basic grooming services like nail trims for a small fee.
Prescription Orders: You can order a variety of prescription products, including medications for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, with fulfillment handled through their online pharmacy partner, Vetsource.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic stands out for several key features that benefit Massachusetts pet owners.
Affordable and Transparent Pricing: The clinic is known for its low-cost services with no exam fees. Prices for vaccinations and other services are transparent, allowing pet owners to know the cost upfront and manage their budget effectively. They also offer vaccination packages that provide savings.
Convenience of Location: Situated inside Petco, the clinic allows pet owners to combine their veterinary visit with their regular pet supply shopping, saving time and making errands more efficient.
Specialized and Focused Care: By specializing in preventative care, the clinic is able to focus its efforts on providing these specific services efficiently. This is a great alternative to a full-service vet for routine, healthy pet visits.
Expert Staff: While experiences with wait times can be mixed, customers have praised the staff as "pros" who are skilled and effective at handling even difficult-to-manage pets during visits. The vets and vet techs are licensed professionals who can offer guidance on your pet's needs.
Appointment-Required System: The clinic requires appointments to help manage patient flow and reduce wait times. While this can sometimes be a source of frustration if the schedule runs behind, it is a system designed to improve the overall customer experience.

For Massachusetts residents seeking an affordable and efficient option for their pet's routine health needs, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Dartmouth is a strong contender. The primary benefit is the low-cost model, which makes essential preventative care like vaccinations and heartworm testing accessible to a wider range of pet owners. The absence of an exam fee is a significant financial advantage, especially when you are only visiting for a simple shot or microchip. The convenience of its location inside a Petco store and the various shopping options available make it a practical solution for busy schedules. The positive feedback from customers who have seen how well the staff handles their "fidgeting" or difficult pets is a testament to the skill and professionalism of the veterinary team.
However, it's important to understand the limitations of this type of clinic. Vetco is not a full-service veterinary hospital. It is not designed for sick visits, complex diagnostics, or surgical procedures. It is a clinic for healthy pets to receive routine preventative care. While some customers have felt pressured to purchase additional services, it is crucial for pet owners to know what they need and to be prepared to advocate for their pet's specific requirements. The wait times can also be a point of frustration, so planning ahead is key. Ultimately, for a pet owner who needs a cost-effective and convenient way to stay on top of their pet’s vaccinations and basic preventative care, Vetco offers a valuable and reliable service that is worth considering. It is an excellent complement to a full-service vet, but not a replacement.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It is convenient to go to petco for services. The wait time was long and appointments were not taken in order. it appeared that they had an appointment every 10 minutes which was very unrealistic. I didn't like the pressure from the assistants on what shots and treatments I should be giving my dog. I was specific as to what I was there for but I felt that I was being a bad pet owner because i didn't agreed to purchase all of the expensive shots and blood work.
August 25 · P NogueiraWe scheduled an appointment at the Vetco in N Dartmouth MA to have our very fidgeting mix breed vaccinated. She was due for her 3 year rabies and few other vaccines while we were away from our home state for a few months. I was skeptical of taking her to Petco because she’s difficult to manage during vet visits and we usually have to make multiple appointments to get the job done. The vet at Petco and the vet techs were pros. They figured out how to manage our dog so well. We left very happily knowing that our crazy dog was fully up to date on vaccines. Thank you Petco, great experience - great staff!
July 22 · B CavaAlways friendly staff and it beats taking my dogs into a vet just for vaccinations
June 25 · Lindsey DeChambeauThe Technician was amazing to a poor cat that needed His vaccines not to mention She took care to treat his ears and said the he needed to see a Vet regardless. She done an amazing job, she could not turn him down.I hope vetco continues this service because his vaccine and earmite treatment was an amazing price.
February 25 · leisha brumI feel like the employee taking the information in the beginning did a great job to explain and give me what I was best needed for me and my pet. Also I feel like the vet doctor was friendly, kind , and amazing taking and giving care to my pet. Sometimes in the past it can feel rushed and "Just another job/dog" to get done.
