Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in Arizona, the unexpected can happen at any time. A sudden illness, an injury, or an accident can turn a normal day into a crisis, and during these moments, having a reliable and compassionate emergency veterinary service is not just a convenience—it's a necessity. In Chandler, the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) stands as a premier resource, providing a unique and highly effective approach to emergency animal care. This is a place where every second counts, and the team is ready to act with expertise and empathy around the clock, offering a much-needed service to the local community.
VEG is not a traditional vet clinic that closes in the evening. As an emergency animal hospital, it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. This constant availability ensures that no matter when a crisis strikes, you and your pet have a place to go. Their model is built on transparency and client involvement, a revolutionary concept in veterinary emergency medicine. When you arrive, you are not sent to a waiting room; instead, you are brought directly into the treatment area with your pet. This allows you to stay by your pet's side through every step of the process, from initial evaluation to treatment and even surgery. This "stay-together" philosophy is a core part of the VEG experience, designed to reduce stress for both the pet and the owner during a very difficult time.
The professionals at VEG—from the technicians to the veterinarians—are highly trained to handle a wide range of critical and urgent conditions. Their expertise isn't limited to just dogs and cats; they are also an emergency vet for exotic animals, which is a rare and invaluable service in the region. The team's ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure, while also being empathetic and communicative, is what truly sets them apart. They provide clear, honest treatment plans and pricing, empowering pet owners to make informed decisions without feeling rushed. This combination of medical excellence and a deeply caring, human-centered approach makes VEG a trusted and vital part of the Arizona pet care landscape.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our dog got tangled on a fishing pole and got a hook stuck in her lip. We called VEG and they said bring her right in. We were met at the door, immediately brought into the treatment area (which looks like an ER for people) but for pets. Staff was amazing everything from techs to docs. The doctor evaluated the situation and in minutes provided a treatment plan that was completely affordable. Once approved they had our little pup in surgery. We got to observe the entire procedure. They were absolutely amazing. Within 2 hours we were back home with our pup and she is happy and healthy! Thank you to the VEG team. You all are amazing!! Jeff, Crystal & Skye 🐾
May 29 · Jeff YountI just want to thank the staff and Dr. Birdie, you all were absolutely amazing. We unfortunately lost our cat, Red, to heart failure last night and it wasn’t easy. Regardless of the outcome, we were treated with dignity and respect; We felt as though they cared about Red as much as we did. They got us back promptly, stabilized our boy, and Dr. Birdie quickly diagnosed him. He discussed the potential differentials and made us aware of the treatment options. He sat down when he talked to us, he was empathetic, and he was comforting in our decision making. We were taken to a private room to have him euthanized and we got to stay with him every step of the way. He passed in our arms, peacefully, and humanely. Again, thank you to you all for being kind and compassionate!
June 23 · Joshua JacksonI am so thankful to the VEG emergency veterinarian hospital! They were wonderful with us and our pet from start to finish. Our sweet Tortie cat was required to stay overnight so she received excellent care from three different veterinarians, Dr. Garner, Dr. Omar and Dr. Jeff Thompson. I was actually 2000 miles away so I coordinated with our pet sitter from miles away and the vet team was equally wonderful with her as well. They even let her take pictures of our sweet kitty cat in her hospital area during the exam and during recovery. The area of Chandler and Ahwatukee has needed a high-quality veterinary emergency hospital for so long and how blessed we are to have a facility that’s staffed with caring, top-notch animal physicians! Our little girl is on the mend and we cannot thank the team at VEG more!!
July 11 · Manic Managed MomSo happy we found this place! The comfort of knowing our baby Zoey is in excellent care with knowledgeable staff is the best feeling. From the moment we walked in, we had several people work on our girl and informed us of everything they were doing. They made us feel like they really cared for our dog and her wellbeing. The service is top notch and they check in when they say they will. They check in on us when we were there and when we had to leave our dog there overnight, they called to give us updates. Couldn’t ask for a better vet. Everyone here is amazing. You won’t be disappointed. Our doggy had to stay overnight and was immediately placed in an oxygen kennel after they checked her vitals. This place was super clean. I can’t thank them enough.
April 21 · sonia kulpakaWhen your dog is in crisis, you don't want average—you want Avengers. And that's precisely what we found at VEG ER for Pets in Chandler, Arizona. Dr. Bayless and the entire team didn't just step up; they assembled like the superheroes of veterinary medicine. Thanks to their fast and expert care, our dog, Ruckus, is now home, healing, and high as a kite in his cone of shame. What sets VEG ER apart? Everything. From the moment we walked in, the open-concept treatment area made it clear: there was nothing to hide, and everything was focused on transparency and care. The place was fully staffed, not just warm bodies, but highly trained professionals. Many of the techs held bachelor's degrees or advanced veterinary certifications, which is far above the industry norm. Even the lobby TV was informative, featuring bios that introduced the staff and their credentials. It's a subtle but powerful reminder: your pet is in very qualified hands. We've been through vet ERs before, but this was next level. Efficient, compassionate, and clearly built for modern, high-stakes animal care. Ruckus is happy, healing, and frankly lucky to have landed at VEG. So are we.If you're facing a pet emergency, skip the panic and head straight to VEG ER for Pets. They saved our dog's life and made us feel like family in the process.
