We had to drive 50 miles for them to take care of our cat because it was past midnight. They did a great job of taking care of him. The problem I have is how they take advantage of people by overcharging for services. They wanted to keep him there for 3 days to basically jack up the bill. We took him home and went to our own vet who did the same services and the cost was about 60% less. Take care of animals and stop ripping off people because you know how we love our pets. - Joe Stuccio

Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital Introduce

For pet owners in the Pennsylvania region, the health and safety of their animal companions are always a top priority. When an unexpected accident or sudden illness strikes outside of regular business hours, knowing where to turn for immediate, expert care is essential. The Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA, fills this critical need, serving as a lifeline for pets and their owners in a moment of crisis. As a dedicated emergency veterinarian service, this hospital is specifically designed to handle urgent and life-threatening situations that require immediate medical attention. Unlike a standard veterinary clinic, an emergency hospital is equipped to provide critical care at any time of day or night. This specialized focus ensures that when minutes matter, your pet can receive the swift and professional treatment they need. The hospital’s role is to serve as a safety net, working in collaboration with your primary care veterinarian to provide a seamless continuum of care. The staff understands the stress and anxiety that come with a pet emergency, and their primary goal is to offer compassionate, professional, and efficient service. From sudden injuries to serious illnesses, they are prepared to handle a wide range of medical conditions. For those who live in the Stroudsburg area or are willing to drive for critical care, the Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital provides a vital service that offers peace of mind when it's needed most.

The hospital's commitment to compassionate care is evident in how they handle difficult situations, from routine emergencies to the most sensitive end-of-life decisions. As one customer noted, the staff was "professional, respectful and very supportive" during the process of providing life-ending care for a 15-year-old cat. This review highlights the empathy and professionalism that the hospital's team brings to every case, understanding that pets are cherished members of the family. However, it is important for potential clients to be aware that emergency care, by its nature, can be a costly service. A review from a customer who drove 50 miles to the hospital highlights a concern about pricing, noting that while the care was excellent, they felt that the services were overcharged compared to their regular vet. This is a common issue with emergency veterinary services, which, much like human emergency rooms, operate with different overhead costs and protocols than a regular clinic. The hospital’s specialization in critical care, which may include advanced diagnostics, intensive monitoring, and round-the-clock staffing, contributes to these higher costs. Despite the concerns over pricing, the review also stated that the hospital did "a great job of taking care of" their cat. This indicates a high level of medical competence, even in a situation where the customer felt the cost was high. The hospital’s dedication to providing a high standard of medical care is a primary focus, and this is what makes it a crucial resource for the community when regular veterinary offices are closed or not equipped to handle a serious emergency. Their ability to handle urgent situations and provide a high level of care, even in the dead of night, is a service that is indispensable for Pennsylvania pet owners.
