★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We originally found this place when we were living temporarily in Fremont and wanted to beautify our drab apartment with a fish tank. We still make the Trek up to aquariums even after moving to Renton. We have gone to some of the local aquarium stores in Renton and they just don't compare to the vibe and knowledge that aquarium Zen has. They may not be the cheapest option but their fish are clearly worth the premium because they are always in good health and are beautiful looking. We recently spent a considerable amount on a new tank light that has completely transformed the look and feel of our small tank. We would not have considered it if we hadn't seen it in use during our multiple visits but it was worth every penny. Not only do our fish look more vibrant than they ever have, but our plants benefit from a grow light that will keep them thriving as well. I cannot recommend aquarium zen highly enough for anyone who truly wants the best experience.
March 31 · Erich WeberOne of the best aquariums shops in the US. If you know anything about fish, aquariums or aquatic plants, you know this place is the real deal. Highly recommend. Gorgeous plant selection.
July 21 · Max ArkoThey've got everything you want and they're quick distance of a T stop.Advice, get a random giant tank from Facebook marketplace, Seattle is rife.Go to home Lowe's. Pea gravel/ sand. Wash forever. Then go full walstad with this place. They've got all the plants you'd want and a good supply of algae keep types.I've just spent 2 hours mostly staring at a fishtank....
August 07 · Michael SenkowThey have tons of beautiful display fish tanks.. I was their for the Neocaridina shrimp and they have only cull shrimps available, so if you're looking for shrimps that will breed quality... this shop is the wrong place to go. However, they do take good care of the betta. Each betta was place in a 1 gallon glass jar with Indian Almond Leaves. Their plants are super pricey... However they have a nightmare number of plants selection. They do not provide local restroom.
November 10 · The One You HateWorked next to and went to for two years, sold them shrimp occasionally, on my recent visit, a day after arranging a price, they reduced the price drastically and claimed it was because there was a bit of sand in there. I accepted their price and asked about the sand and was promptly asked to leave. I was confused, I had been going there for two years, I'm friendly with the staff and had talked to this guy before and had nothing but pleasant interactions. Never did get the answer to why a little sand made 280 bloody Mary grade shrimp less than 100 dollars. It's a quaint little shop and it really sucks to have to do this but the owner is totally dishonest and unreasonable.
