When choosing a pet store, what truly matters is a combination of product availability, service quality, and staff knowledge. Petco's strengths are clearly its wide selection and convenience. A positive review from a customer highlights their success with the aquatics department, noting that they "really enjoy buying my aquatic plants from here" and that the "selections in bettas aren't bad either." This feedback underscores the store's dedication to its specialized departments, offering high-quality products for specific pet types. However, it's also important to consider all available feedback. A less positive review from a pet owner who had their dog groomed at the store raises concerns about the quality of the grooming services. The owner notes that a groomer "cut the fur off one side of his face" and states, "I'm done with them." This kind of feedback is valuable for potential customers, as it shows that experiences with individual services can vary. While the store offers many services, it's important for customers to vet the specific service they intend to use. Despite this, the Roseville Petco's comprehensive offerings, including curbside pickup, delivery, on-site services, and a vast inventory, make it a highly convenient option for all kinds of pet parents in Minnesota. For the pet owner who needs a little bit of everything in a single, accessible location, Petco remains a valuable resource.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve had my Sheltie groomed here many times. Today the groomer cut the fur off one side of his face. Left photo today after “grooming.” Right photo with natural fur.I’m done with them.
August 14 · Margaret MeyersI really enjoy buying my aquatic plants from here. Their selections in bettas aren't bad either.
August 11 · Hmoob YajFriendly groomers always greet me when I arrive with my pet! I only see one groomer, but would trust any of there gals with my baby! Been going for years now ; the Consistent friendly service keeps me coming back!
March 12 · Jennifer KateIf you look through my Google Reviews, you will see that I only provide positive reviews. If I have a negative experience that might make some write a bad review, I reach out to the business directly. That always has the best outcome for both me and the business. (Quite frankly, it is my pet peeve when someone writes a bad review over something that could have been solved if they reached out to the business instead.)That being said, I do not know how to reach out to management at this Petco, so I am writing this review in hopes that they will see it.My wife and I went to the Vetco here, needing a rabies vaccine booster for our three cats. We found a dead baby bat in the morning that was clearly killed by a cat (or cats). We immediately called the MN Department of Health for guidance. They told us to bring in the bat to get tested, which we did right away. We got a call saying they could not get a good enough sample so they could not say definitively if that bat was infected or not. They then told us we need to bring in our cats to get a rabies vaccine booster ASAP. They said it needed to be done within 72 hours of the potential exposure, and explained that they are ONLY infectious if they start showing symptoms, and advised that symptoms typically wouldn't show for around 3 weeks post exposure, if they were actually exposed. If we got the booster within the 72 hours, we limit the risk almost completely. The MN Health Department sent us links to their flow chart of how to act AND links to the MN statute/law "1721.0570 RABIES POSTEXPOSURE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES FOR ANIMALS." Both also show you MUST get a vaccine booster within 72 hours. We immediately set up the earliest appointment we could get, set for 6:15pm on Tuesday, August 12th 2025. We came prepared with their vaccination records, the laws and flow chart the MN Health Department provided us, and the email communications between us and the MN Health Department. We also got information that our personal vet sent us (they were happy to get us in, but it wouldn't be until Wednesday, August 13th 2025, so we opted to go to Vetco instead.)When we arrived for our appointment with all the necessary items, the man checking us in (tall, big glasses, brown hair, probably 40-50) was almost immediately snappy with us. He then told us that he was going to go talk with his team, which was fine. He came back with another employee (a girl with pink hair and a lip piercing, shorter and younger). She immediately told us in the RUDEST way, that we needed to leave. She told us that we needed to call animal control(????) and that we needed to quarantine our cats for 2-3 weeks before ANYONE would even SEE our cats. We explained to her that we were in contact with the MN Health Department and were following their protocol, that was for us to get their vaccine boosters within 72 hours, and then quarantine our cats for 45 days. We tried showing her all the documentation we had, but she wasn't having it. I also told her that if we waited for 2-3 weeks, and the cats were exposed, that they would start showing symptoms by then and that is immediate death. She said, "Exactly."She told us again that we needed to leave- saying they wouldn't see our cats and no other vet in the world would see them either. We told her that our vet was willing to see them and even provided us the same information that the MN Health Department did, but they didn't have an appointment available until the next day and that Vetco was a more affordable option for us at the moment. Both she and the man said "They probably are more expensive because they are willing to put their entire staff at risk by seeing you." Which, let me be clear, is NOT the case. They are NOT greedy and know what they are doing. They agreed that it made sense to take them to Vetco timing and money wise.We got to the point where they upset me so much that we left. We were 36hrs in at that point, and I worry about what would happen if someone was on the last day and they got turned away. The staff NEEDS to know the LAWS.
August 13 · Sara MarkThe young man who checked me out on Sunday, August17th went beyond the call of duty to make sure I was able to redeem my rewards, was so polite. I so appreciated him! Your lucky to have such a great employee!
