★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We already highly recommend Dr Alex, Dr G, and the rest of the crew at BVC any chance we get, but wanted to highlight the recent outstanding care we’ve received and acknowledge vet tech David for truly going above and beyond during a recent visit. When I was waiting for an appointment last December, I overheard David de-escalate a pet parent over the phone and was impressed by his demeanor and the way in which he made that person’s situation feel heard.I was the frantic pet parent on the other side of the call recently and had the privilege of being heard by David. Not only was he able to squeeze us in for a visit that afternoon, he was also beyond gentle and kind to our very anxious dog during the vaccine admin process. We have been at BVC in Chinatown since 2016 and transferred to Charlestown when it opened and have nothing but positive things to say about all of our experiences
April 10 · Katie BellI’ve had multiple frustrating experiences at Boston Veterinary Clinic, and I would not recommend it. During my dog's checkup, the staff was unable to administer basic vaccines or draw blood, claiming my dog was "too anxious." However, this anxiety seemed to be caused by their own poor handling, not any inherent fear from my pet. After sending us home with sedatives to try again, we came back and, even with my dog under the full effects of the medication, they still couldn’t complete the routine procedures. The clinic advertises itself as "fear-free," but the lack of proper training in their staff is what truly caused the anxiety in my dog.It became clear that many of their vet techs, who are often co-op students with minimal experience, aren’t equipped to handle pets calmly or effectively. We eventually went to another clinic, where my dog was able to get all vaccines and blood work done without sedatives or restraint, and without any issues. To make matters worse, we had visited the clinic for another issue and were misdiagnosed. They prescribed completely unnecessary medication that my dog did not need, which only added to my frustration and distrust. We got this checked with another clinic as well as the condition was not improving.I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for competent, compassionate care for their pets.
September 03 · Rene MMy dog and I always have a wonderful experience at BVC! The staff is so patient and kind with my anxious pup. I never feel rushed and always feel so cared for between all the love and treats given to my dog as well as the patience shown for my questions and concerns. Thank you for taking such great care of my little girl!
August 29 · Ally WashBVC and Dr Alex are the BEST! I’ve gone to 4-5 vets across my pups life, and this has been the most thoughtful, caring, modern experience yet. Do give them a try, you won’t regret it.
August 26 · Eric Boggsl the staff were extremely helpful, polite, and attentive. I would especially like to highlight Camila Escobar, who assisted us with great kindness and incredible patience, answering all of our questions thoroughly. We also appreciate Dr. G, who provided us with clear and supportive guidance. We felt truly well taken care.I had tried taking my dogs to other clinics before, but I had never received the level of care and attention that I received at this clinic. Everyone truly deserves congratulations.
