★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I want to thank all the doctors and workers for taking care of my dog in the most professional and human manner. Even at the end when we knew he was not going to be with us much longer. Dr. Wu was not only my vet but also my therapist. Her patience and understanding allowed Charlie another 6 month of happiness and a lot more steak. Even at the end when I brought Charlie in since he passed away sleeping on his favorite bed at home. Mid Island had a room ready for us the minute we got there so we can say our last good bye privately. They took care of transporting Charlie to the animal memorial service without any fees. Then a week later we received a hand written sympathy card from doctors and workers along with Charlie’s paw prints. Thank you Mid Island for everything!
July 22 · Carol DingWe had just moved to Long Island and my dog got very sick. I called Mid Island Animal Hospital and they were able to get me in immediately. My dog is a very reactive dog and barks which is very intimidating to others. The ladies at the front desk were more than accommodating about this as well as the doctors and their assistants. It was a huge relief since we dread bringing him to the vet for these reasons. We definitely plan on using them in the future. I cannot recommend them enough!
June 04 · Nicole*Avoid for pet travel certification*I had a very disheartening experience with this clinic and hope others will learn from my error. I found there to be a lack of transparency around pricing to get travel paperwork done, given that the clinic adds a significant upcharge of $500 on top of the $200 charged by the USDA (if you need rabies certification). I understand there is time involved with completing this paperwork, but a +233% margin is not something I would have willingly paid for had I known prior to my visit.Beyond what I find to be inflated prices compared to other clinics, no one at Mid Island communicated a fairly significant price increase due to regulatory changes that went into effect the day before my visit and I was only made aware when I got blindsided while checking out. Please do your research and don’t make the same mistake I did!
August 07 · Jay ClayI am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frankly, outrage, regarding the substandard care of my sister's dog, received at your facility. I brought him with my sister to your hospital on that day because he was experiencing a severely bloated stomach, and I believed he would receive the best possible care there. After running tests, your veterinarian, concluded that he was simply suffering from gas and sent us home. However, his condition did not improve. In fact, he worsened over the next two days, refusing to eat or drink. Concerned for his well-being, I sought a second opinion at another animal hospital in Suffolk County. At this hospital, they immediately recognized the severity of his condition. After performing their own tests, they discovered that he had foreign objects in his stomach, requiring immediate surgery.Thankfully, they had an on-call surgeon available who was able to remove the small object and save his life. The veterinarian at informed my sister that had this condition gone untreated, he would have likely developed a complete obstruction and could have died.I am appalled and frankly, disgusted, that your hospital failed to correctly diagnose his life-threatening condition. The misdiagnosis of a simple case of "gas" nearly cost my sisters dogs his life.If your veterinary staff lacks the expertise to accurately interpret diagnostic tests, it’s a serious problem. You are not only endangering the lives of animals but also causing immense distress to their families.I find it deeply disturbing that your negligence nearly killed my sister's dog, and I am worried about the potential harm you could inflict on other animals and families in the future. Shame on you for providing such inadequate and potentially deadly care.Good Bye & Good Luck!B’s Family!
