Puppygram Louisville Introduce
For families in Kentucky considering adding a new puppy to their home, the experience should be one filled with joy, education, and confidence. Puppygram Louisville, located on S Hurstbourne Pkwy, offers itself as a destination for those looking for a new furry family member. As a small, local business, it aims to provide a personal experience that helps connect people with puppies. Puppygram is not a typical pet supply store; its primary focus is on the sale of puppies, with additional offerings of pet supplies and training services. This store positions itself as a place where potential owners can interact with puppies in a clean environment and receive guidance from the staff. For many, finding a reputable place to purchase a puppy is a significant decision, and Puppygram presents itself as a solution for those looking for a "one-stop shop" for their new companion.
The experience at Puppygram appears to be a mixed one, as is common with businesses that sell live animals. On one hand, some customers describe a wonderful, family-friendly process. A positive review highlights how the staff were "incredibly patient" and "took the time to help educate us on various dog breeds," making the experience of choosing two new dogs a joyous one for a family with young children. This reviewer appreciated the "clean, large space" for the puppies to interact and noted how their new dogs have become the "absolute best of friends." This kind of experience is what Puppygram strives to provide—a comfortable and supportive environment where families can fall in love with a new pet.
On the other hand, a contrasting review details a deeply negative experience, citing concerns about the health of a purchased puppy and the conditions within the store. The customer claims their puppy, despite being described as healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations, was found to have fleas and worms shortly after being taken home, leading to additional veterinary costs. This customer also raised concerns about the living conditions of the puppies, describing them as being "crammed into tiny boxes." The review also mentions a belief that the puppies may not be purebred as advertised, and that the store's contract absolves them of liability for certain health issues. This highlights the importance of thorough research and due diligence for any prospective pet owner, including visiting a vet shortly after purchase and carefully reviewing any contracts.
Puppygram's model is built on the concept of being a small, community-focused business, and it is explicitly an LGBTQ+ friendly establishment, which is a commendable feature for a local business in Louisville. The availability of onsite services, such as a pet trainer, and pet supplies makes it a convenient stop for new pet owners. The store also accepts modern payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making transactions smooth. While Puppygram markets itself as a provider of purebred puppies from reputable breeders with a "no puppy mill promise" and a health guarantee, the conflicting customer accounts make it a place that requires a cautious and well-informed approach. Potential customers should weigh the overwhelmingly positive reviews found on the business's website against the more critical, detailed accounts from individual customers, and consider all available options for pet acquisition, including local shelters and rescues.
Puppygram is conveniently located at 2056 S Hurstbourne Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40220, USA. Its position on a major parkway makes it easy to access for residents from various parts of Louisville. The business is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. A free parking lot is also available, ensuring a hassle-free visit for all customers.

Choosing a place to get a new puppy is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. Puppygram Louisville offers a space for those who are specifically looking to purchase a puppy rather than adopt from a shelter. The business’s strengths lie in its onsite services and its welcoming, LGBTQ+ friendly environment. The ability to interact with puppies in a clean space and receive immediate assistance from staff can be a major draw for families seeking a hands-on experience before making a commitment. The positive customer reviews highlight a fun, educational, and smooth process for some buyers, who appreciate the patience and knowledge of the staff.
However, it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of the serious concerns raised in other reviews and local news reports. Allegations of puppies being sold with health issues, despite health guarantees, and questions about breeding practices are significant. Local news has reported on a ban on pet sales in stores by the Louisville Metro Council, spurred by accusations against pet stores like Puppygram, though the business has contested the ban. For a customer, this means that while the convenience and in-store experience might be appealing, it is essential to proceed with extreme caution, perform extensive personal research, and consult with a trusted veterinarian immediately after the purchase to ensure the puppy’s health. In summary, Puppygram offers a specific service that may appeal to some, but customers should be fully informed of both the positive and negative aspects of the business before making a decision.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Please do not buy any puppies from here. My husband and I bought our little Beagle from this place for $1,500 for a ‘discounted’ price because of her age (5 months old). The multitude of other comments about the poor conditions and selling sick dogs are not incorrect. If you don’t believe them, just walk into the store. You will see puppies crammed into tiny boxes as if they’re on display. There are only two open areas where the puppies can be outside of their cages, and when we came in there was only one puppy in there at a time. We were told all the puppies had never been outside before, and once these dogs reach over 5 months they are removed to God knows where. For having never been outside the confined space within the building, our sweet baby was somehow covered in fleas which led to her also having worms. The worms led to her being dehydrated, lethargic, and underweight. Despite us taking her to a vet within 48 hours of taking her home and having her treated for these ailments (which cost us $500!), the contract with Puppygram stated that they were not liable for fleas or worms leaving us in a tough situation. We felt lied to when we were told she was fully up to date on her vaccinations as well as being fully dewormed which was false—clearly. Furthermore, these puppies are supposed to be purebred puppies from reputable breeders, hence the outrageous prices. However, we have a sneaking suspicion that our puppy isn’t fully Beagle as she is quite small for being now fully grown, and does not possess many of the distinct traits of purebred Beagles. While I’m not going to make any direct accusations, the baby picture on the records we were given for her don’t even really look like her. She is clearly doing much better now than she was, it is not to Puppygram’s credit, and my husband and I have certainly learned our lesson. We love our little doggy but we will not be buying from here or any other puppy store ever again!P.S. The replies from the owner speak for themselves about the truth of this establishment.
July 18 · Beth AbelMy husband and I had been contemplating getting a puppy for our two daughters (ages 5 & 10) and we decided stop by Puppygram not really knowing what we were looking for. As soon as we entered we were immediately helped by staff who were incredibly patient with our girls and took the time to help educate us on various dog breeds. My 10 year old immediately fell in love with the sweetest Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Georgia, and it was great having the opportunity to watch them interact in a clean, large space. While we were only planning on leaving with one new furry family member, we couldn’t help but to also fall completely in love with Scooter, a 22 week old Miniature Schnauzer. The staff graciously allowed us to bring the two pups together and we spent some time as a family getting to know both of them. In the end it was clear that both Georgia and Scooter belonged in our family and we brought them both home! They have become the absolute best of friends and our daughters are completely crazy about them. My family is so thankful for the incredible experience we had at Puppygram and couldn’t imagine our family without Georgia and Scooter!
April 17 · Kindra WitakWow! My 13yr old had an itching to play with a puppy and heard about Puppygram so we decided to go check it out. Of course I have to look up any establishments Google reviews before going. I will say this. DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE BAD REVIEWS ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT. The place was immaculate! Clean, tidy, well organized, and smelled great. The dog food products that I looked at seemed to be the best and most nutritious available. Everything about the place was nothing like any of the poor reviews that I read, and that's a shame. The puppies wow! They were all very clean, healthy, and playful as they should be. My daughter loved it she was able to pet and play with all the pups she wanted. She said she would come every day if she could. The staff here were amazing also, I believe ones name was Emily she was great. They all were very friendly and you can tell they love working there. Watching their interactions with other customers as well, they are very knowledgeable on all aspects of caring for a dog. What's great about this place is you can come and let your kids pet the pups without needing to be wanting to bring one home. They welcome you to come pet the pups which is so beneficial for the pups. Will definitely be back!
July 19 · SullenVexTerrible Experience.Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. On Monday, November 18th, my family and I went to Puppy Gram to pick up Edgar, a Havanese puppy. He was pretty expensive, but we didn't mind because his papers indicated that he had all of his vaccines up to date and was in good health. That was not the case.Edgar vomited once on the second day home and developed bloody diarrhea, which was unusual given that he had only been eaten the food provided by Puppy Gram.We then gave him a bath, and we discovered he was absolutely COVERED in live fleas. The next day, he continued to have diarrhea until it was all blood. So we immediately scheduled a vet appointment to have him checked out.During our vet appointment, the vet mentioned that he had recently seen another case of a puppy from Puppy Gram.Edgar was examined and found to be dehydrated as a result of both the diarrhea and the fleas sucking in his blood. He is currently taking medication for his gastrointestinal problems and was treated for fleas.I called Puppy Gram twice yesterday to express my concern, and was told that their "owner" was not present both times and that I would receive a call back, which I did not, so I called again today.I spoke with a manager, who indicated she wasn't sure what I wanted them to do in this case. When I inquired if they would at least cover the $400 vet appointment bill, I was informed "that is not something we do".Long story short , I would not suggest this facility to anyone.
November 23 · Lea RodriguezOur visit to Puppygram Kentucky was quite simply, delightful! We initially decided to visit because my stepdaughter is a big puppy lover, and we thought it would be a great experience for her. However, we were all pleasantly surprised by the excellent standards maintained at the facility. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed by a clean and well-organized environment. The cleanliness of the facility is a clear testament to the dedication of the Puppygram Kentucky team. This also made our time there much more enjoyable and worry-free.It was heartwarming to see the puppies in such good condition - clean, active, and obviously well cared for. Their liveliness and well-groomed appearance reflected the high-quality care they receive. It was a pleasure to see that each puppy's individual needs were being met, ensuring their wellbeing.Interacting with the puppies was an absolute joy. We got to spend quality time with these little bundles of energy and affection, and it was clear that these puppies were well-socialized, friendly, and responsive to human interaction. Not only were the conditions top-notch, but the staff's service and professionalism were equally impressive. They were polite, approachable, and more than willing to answer any questions we had. Their passion for the puppies was evident, and their knowledge about each puppy's personality and needs was deeply impressive. In conclusion, our visit to Puppygram Kentucky was a rewarding experience. Their dedication to providing a clean, caring environment for the puppies is truly commendable. I would highly recommend Puppygram Kentucky to anyone looking for a puppy-filled outing or considering bringing a new furry friend into their family.
