Choosing Petland Nashville is a decision that involves weighing several factors, many of which are passionately debated within the local community. On one hand, many customers find the store to be a "perfect place" and a source of "great stress relief," praising the "phenomenal staff" and the opportunity to find a high-end, purebred puppy. The staff’s friendliness and knowledge, as well as the store's inclusive environment and convenient services, are strong points in its favor.
On the other hand, the store faces significant criticism, particularly concerning its puppy sourcing and pricing. As one critical review highlights, there are allegations of puppies being too calm, possibly sedated, and concerns about a lack of transparency regarding breeder information. The review also points out the high prices for puppies, with one Australian Shepherd costing a quoted "$5,000," which the customer found to be outrageous. The store's classification as a "puppy mill scam" by some critics is a serious allegation, as is the claim that papers for the animals were not available and that the named breeders did not exist.
Ultimately, what makes Petland Nashville worth choosing depends on your individual perspective and priorities. If you are looking for a wide variety of purebred puppies in a friendly, accessible environment and are comfortable with the business’s model, you might find it to be an excellent place to find a new companion. However, if you are concerned about ethical breeding practices, animal welfare, and high prices, you may want to conduct extensive research and consider other options, such as local shelters or independent breeders with transparent practices. The conflicting reviews and public information suggest that it is crucial for every prospective customer to ask detailed questions and make an informed decision that aligns with their personal values and budget.

May 24 · Adam LeslieThis place is a puppy mill scam. Do not adopt here. Do not be fooled by the cute animals, especially the puppies. The puppies are nearly sedated as all of them are too calm and sleepy. The only time the puppies are let out is if someone asked to see them. I went with my boyfriend. We asked about the background of one of the dogs. We were denied access to papers (because there weren't any). We were given a name of a breeder. We went home to do further research, only to discover the breeder did not exist. The most outrageous thing is the pricing. I looked at an Australian Shepherd among other dogs. When asked how much the dog would cost to adopt, I was told it would be $5,000 since it is a pure bred. $5,000 for a breed that employers could not even spell the name of correctly. The price of a poodle puppy was nearly as high. My family owned standard poodles, two which we got from a breeder and they cost about half of that price combined. (One happened to be the same color as a poodle puppy from their establishment) The staff is very nice, but can be pushy at times.
July 26 · Leigh MartinI found this place by accident. Clean and the pups were beautiful. My interest was the toy chichuchua, which was sold already. Before flying out of state to purchase your fur baby go to Petland at least you can see the puppy and have their heritage validated with health guarantee. I having been fleece by a Texas breeder ..wish I had purchased from Petland.
January 16 · bobbie swannI went into Petland Nashville on Sunday, December 22 with my grandson and a young lady named Zoe helped us. She was very sweet and patient and very knowledgeable about all the different dogs. She definitely made our experience there great. We will definitely be back when we’re ready to purchase our forever dog.
December 23 · Wendy HadleyThis place was great and all our French bulldogs here the staff is excellent. They are very kind friendly to explain things to you. They take patience with you. Bring the dog back every time we come back with a dog the staff is like they love it.
