★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came in for the first time and was very pleased to see Amano Shrimp to add to my freshwater aquarium. I've searched a few places before here and was unsuccessful. On another note, this place has a huge selection of salt water & freshwater fish, all kinds of shrimp, reptiles, and we even spotted some manta rays. How cool is that?! Anyways, thank you Tropical Imports for the huge help!!
July 28 · John MonteverdeI visited this place this morning, the guy who first assisted me completely ignore me and said that he was going to help another client who got there after me. He seemed inpatient (employee/owner) when assisting me. Not sure if will come back despite this place is the closest to my house.
August 08 · Cynthia TamrazI like the selection and help they give me, also saw the 50w red lamp light for $9.99 and I just bought it from a big chain store for like $14.Well now I know I can get some good priced items here, also had a nice talk with a gentleman who gave a little extra help (I have basic/average knowledge for reptiles) with picking out just main items I need not the gimmicks of selling me random stuff I dont need.Update: went back today and saw these cool mini tank set-ups kinda upfront, spoke to the guy from last time (he remembered I had a beardy) Stephen, he showed me these new tanks. I'm interested because he said he's making them into shrimp/nano fish tanks
January 11 · Jasmin DiazWOW! This place is amazing......ly awful! Can't believe it actually got the earlier positive reviews it did. The place is dirty, unkept, multiple (I really mean many!) dead fish and shrimp. Seriously, I totally understand loss of inventory but jeez, remove the loss from the tanks so the customers are at least fooled that you care for your inventory. There were even some shrimp and fish we contemplated purchasing but after seeing the care they take, we got out of there as fast and as empty-handed as we could. Also frightening was the explosion of neusance Bladder snails all over the place (see photo). I have a couple of snails I specifically purchased for my aquarium but I sure don't need any unwanted "multipliers" hitchhiking on anything purchased from this place. By the way, the people there were really friendly. That's why they got the single star but what a waste of time.
October 28 · Russell GrayDean at Tropical Imports in Glendale was extremely helpful and patient. I was able to return a small African cichlid bought 2 days before, by another family member who thought it would be ok in a 10 gallon tank. This time, Dean answered ALL of my questions and helped me select everything I needed to keep a Betta. We bought a different (adjustable flow) pump ( Aqua Clear 20), a siphon, gravel substrate, Microbe- lift Nite-out ll, a live plant, proper food (Ocean Nutrition Betta Pellets), a water testing kit (API Freshwater Master test kit). He said we could use zest strips but it would be cheaper in the long run to get the kit. Dean even talked me through the weekly cleaning process. Then we found and bought the most gorgeous Betta in the store.!Our little guy seems so active, but relaxed in his new home. He comes to the glass when we walk in and is already a source of great joy. He's not easy to photograph, but I will try. Thanks Tropical Imports and especially Dean!
