★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had a positive experience here for urgent care… I’ve read some of the one star reviews here and had my reservations going in, however as with any urgent care facility - you must be clear with your “philosophy of treatment” I was lucky the front desk individual was polite and responsive, and I had Dr Sophia Lam as my vet. She was professional, focused, and answered my questions succinctly. I recommend Animal AM and I highly recommend Dr Lam! I will return God forbid if I need urgent care for my cat again. Good work!
July 15 · Jon OliverWhile I was at work my wife noticed that our cat was very vocal and acting strange so she waited for a few hours and noticed it was after the cat went to the bathroom. She had figured there was constipation or sorts and decided to take her to the vet just in case because she had torn into a bread bag earlier in the week. When she arrived she was made to wait for an hour before the vet could even take the cat back and in the mean time a few other people came in with dogs. On of the dogs got nervous and had a little accident and the receptionist instantly said that wasn't normal and they needed to do tests. Thankfully the owner knew better and declined. When it came time for our cat the vet felt her tummy and said there's no constipation but they would need to do some blood work and take an x-ray to make sure and if she didn't agree our cat would most likely pass away. Of course hearing that my wife agreed and paid $1000+ for the tests. Come to find out there's nothing wrong in her blood and her intestines look great but they wanted to keep her overnight and take more X-rays in the morning. Thankfully I was home by then and declined it. I took my cat somewhere else and instantly they took her back and quickly looked her over and said there's definitely no constipation and it doesn't feel knotted but her behind was very raw so most likely she had diarrhea which burned and after she would lick the area which would irritate it more. They gave her a cone and said to watch out for anything unusual. A few days later she's just fine and back to her normal self. Long story short don't take your animals here if it's possible and I will be filling a lawsuit regarding the emotional extortion they pulled on my wife
June 17 · James DayCongratulations to Dr. Chang for removing what he said was the largest uterus he has ever seen, from my little fur baby Sloane. Sloane had been quite healthy her entire life until she suddenly developed pyometra. I can confidently say that Dr. Chang and his team saved Sloane’s life. This was the second animal ER I took Sloane to. I originally went to the 24/7 emergency vet in Eagle Rock but there were some major red flags. Firstly, the doctor wouldn’t even come out to talk to me in person, rather spoke to me on the phone. Secondly, the quoted treatment included multiple unnecessary medications and services which they would not remove. (I’m a paramedic so I understand what is and what isn’t necessary).Upon arriving at Animal AM ER in Pasadena, we were greeted warmly and seen urgently within minutes, considering the severity of Sloane’s condition. Dr. Chang spoke with us in person, explaining in detail what the plan of care was. He was knowledgeable and had an amazing “vibe” to him. From that moment I knew Sloane was in good hands.
March 26 · Eugene Thomas ErlikhI had a family friend tell me about this place where she took her dogs. She told me she had her dogs cremated there. Well my sweet Rusty who I have had for almost 18 years had passed away unexpectedly. I was in a state of shock so my family friend told me to call them. When I called I told the receptionist my situation that my cat just had passed away and if it was possible to have her cremated with them, she told me absolutely. I told her my fiance would be bringing her. When he got there she already had the papers to fill out ready for him to sign. The price was affordable. They went above and beyond our expectations. Not only did I get her ashes in a beautiful wood box but it came with a plaque of my cats name on top. Also got a certificate when she was cremated from an outside agency they work with. And last not least seeds forget me not flowers to plant in her memory. Exactly 3 weeks later I got a letter from them saying condolences. Most definitely recommend them. Whenever my family and I decide to get an animal we will be coming here to get them help. Thank you so much!
February 29 · Miranda GutierrezI was skeptical about this clinic with all the 1star and also don't really write reviews on stuff. But on Wednesday day before Thanksgiving I had to rush my dog Hercules into emergency and we had to put him down due to cancer.I can’t thank animal Am of Pasadena enough for the kindness and care they showed my dog and my family during such a heartbreaking moment. The staff was incredibly gentle and understanding, ensuring my dog’s last moments were peaceful and filled with love. They explained the process with such compassion, allowing us to say goodbye in the most meaningful way. I truly felt supported during one of the hardest days of my life.
