★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1To make a very long story short, my dog Simba was given a medication that caused kidney failure (Carprofen) for anti inflammation by Annette Califanio. She prescribed this without blood work or anything to confirm it was safe. I went back to this vet clinic to treat his severe kidney failure and all they gave him was a fluid treatment and false hope. They told us that it would flush his kidneys. Rachel Plafker Esrig was extremely compassionate for Simba and was considerate of cost of treatments and medication. However my mom and I felt abandoned by her after she diagnosed Simba. The day we went in for his first day of fluid treatment we saw her in the back but she didn’t address us or even look at us. My mom waved at her but it was possible she was busy but I digress.Simba was experiencing some scary symptoms that lead us to take him to an emergency vet. (VEG) The doctor there told us that Carprofen should not be given to dogs over 3 years old without blood work. And that a fluid treatment would in fact NOT flush his kidneys.I am so extremely broken and devastated that Simba is gone due to the malpractice of this clinic. I regret trusting them.**Please avoid taking your pets here for severe conditions. If they prescribed your pet medication I encourage you to do a lot research and maybe get a second opinion if you have the means. Please avoid Annette Califano. As a vet she should know not to have given a shih tzu (who are prone to kidney failure) a medication that would cause kidney failure without a blood test.Do not put your trust into this clinic.
July 03 · Kai KennedyI don’t usually leave reviews, but I think this one is necessary.I suspected my cat had some kind of ringworm, so I decided to bring him here. The vet took my cat to another room to be examined without me being there (and I told her up front that he's aggressive, and I new that she would need my help to do so). So I thought that after the examination the values would be discussed, but that never happened. A few minutes later they brought him back in and she said she collected material to be tested for fungus and that was the only thing she could get done because of his difficult behavior. She didn't discuss the price or tell me that it would be done, she just took him and got him “tested" —I assume, because I wasn't there to be sure. And even though I thought it could be ringworm, I was completely open to hear what could POSSIBLE be, and I was still expecting to hear a "maybe is this, or can also be that, but we need to get him tested first and those are the prices for each procedure"… but no, that never happened. For a veterinarian that also has cats as pets, I was pretty choked.Long story short: I was charged $300 for the fungus test, plus $104 just for the visit. I think prices need to be discussed before being charged, especially when you're not there during the exam (I have no idea how this test was done since the doctor herself came back saying that it was extremely difficult to deal with my cat because of his behavior and even suggested that I hire a vet to come to my house because at home he behaves better. It was all very strange and made me feel very uncomfortable, as if they didn't want me as a customer but did it anyway, unwillingly, as if the only thing that matters in this place is money. And the worst part of all this is that almost two months have already passed, and no one has contacted me or asked how my cat is doing. I bought a medicine for mange - that's right, MANGE - and my cat is finally cured! A veterinarian who knows nothing about mange makes me wonder how important animals are to her.Do yourself a big, huge favor and take your pet somewhere else.
July 29 · Eu BaianaBoth our cats are patients. The staff is super friendly and supportive. I believe our fur babies feel comfortable and that’s one of the things that’s important to us. The doctors have been amazing and very patient with all our questions and concerns, they take their time caring for our babies and answering our questions. I’m very grateful.
September 05 · Julia CrawfordI can’t say enough good things about Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital! I brought my dog in for the first time for a skin issue, and the doctor was absolutely amazing. She was thorough, compassionate, and clearly very knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything to me in detail and made sure my pup was comfortable the entire time. We left with a clear treatment plan and peace of mind. So grateful to have found such a caring and skilled veterinarian — we’ll definitely be coming back!
July 26 · Gerilyn DaCostaI cannot speak highly enough about Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. Their entire staff embodies kindness, empathy, and care in all facets…they will take care of your fur baby, but in many ways they take care of you too because of the way they treat your pet with such thoughtfulness. My puggle Navi was a patient there all 15 years of his life, and was never afraid of going to the vet…in fact, he looked forward to it because of Dr. Hoey, Lauren, and the entire ADAC staff. Navi had a lot of health issues come up, and received the absolute best care…ADAC is the reason why he lived such a long, healthy and happy life - despite his auto-immune disorder. Dr. Hoey always had his best interest at heart, and truly is the most trustworthy, skillful, and thoughtful vet. When Navi passed recently, the kindness this office showed me was above and beyond…I am forever grateful to ADAC. Thank you for helping me give my Navi a wonderful and comfortable life. I appreciate everyone in the office so much - it is difficult work, and takes a really special person to do it…they are all meant to do this work❤️🐾
