Choosing a veterinary hospital is a personal and important decision, and Banfield Pet Hospital in Chandler presents a comprehensive model of care that is worth considering. The hospital's emphasis on preventative care through its well-known Optimum Wellness Plans is a significant feature for many pet owners, providing a structured way to manage pet health and budget for routine services. A positive customer review highlights the team's patience and attentiveness, particularly with "hyper Dalmatians," and praises the vets for their knowledge of the breed. This kind of specialized care and compassionate handling of difficult cases is a testament to the staff's professionalism and dedication. However, it's also important to consider the complexities that can arise with any business model, especially those involving long-term financial commitments. A review from a grieving pet owner, though marked as resolved, shed light on a difficult experience concerning the wellness plan after the passing of their 18-year-old dog. This review, and the hospital's subsequent resolution, underscores the importance of understanding all policies, especially those related to long-term plans. The feedback from both sides of the spectrum—the positive experience with the staff and the challenging experience with the business policies—provides a balanced view. It shows a practice with a team that is genuinely caring and knowledgeable, while also highlighting the need for pet parents to be fully informed about all service and payment agreements. Ultimately, for those in the Chandler area seeking a vet with a focus on preventative care and who appreciate a structured, comprehensive approach to pet health, Banfield Pet Hospital offers a viable and professional option.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had to put my 18-year-old dog Jovi to sleep on May 5, 2025. After years of loyalty to Banfield and keeping her Optimum Wellness Plan active through two states, I was shocked when they told me I’d either need to keep paying monthly or pay $164.85 for services — despite the fact that my pet is deceased and won’t receive any more care. They offered no refund for unused plan services, like exams, dental, deworming, and testing — Their response lacked transparency and, honestly, basic compassion.I’ve spent thousands of dollars at Banfield beyond the cost of the plan, and I expected better. Instead, I was treated like a payment, not a grieving pet owner.Pet parents: ask for every policy in writing, and be cautious of long-term plans. This experience has made my grief even harder. This issue has been resolved.
May 14 · Syringa OrtegaCan’t say enough of the Banfield team! With 2 hyper Dalmatians, they are so attentive and patient with my babies and I know they can be a lot of work!! The vets are very knowledgeable on the breed and I know my pups are always in the best hands!
July 03 · Melissa GelotteI love this office! They have been incredibly accommodating during emergencies and always manage to squeeze me in when needed. From the front desk staff to the medical team, everyone here is phenomenal. They’ve helped me get last-minute prescriptions for my dog and have always been there when the unexpected happens.I highly recommend the Banfield membership—I’ve been a member for almost nine years, and it’s absolutely worth it. It has saved me so much money over the years!
February 12 · Danielle HoganBeen coming here for about 8 years and have their insurance program. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been let down or disappointed. Today was the last straw. They open at 8am and I show up before 8am. They ask what’s wrong and I explain my dog has something wrong inside the ear and she is in pain crying a lot. Also explain she is scratching at the ear and ripped it open and made it bleed badly. The vet tech went to talk to Doctor working and they turned me away. Was told they have a quota of seeing 25 pets per day and they are already booked with 28. I asked what good is my insurance I have with you if I can’t come see you for emergencies? You do have the word “hospital” in your name. She wasn’t phased and told me to go somewhere else. So I requested all my medical records since day one so I can CANCEL THE INSURANCE and find another vet. My warning to others is stay away from Banfield. The vets are always changing so it’s not consistent and able to build relationship with one vet that gets to know your pet.
January 25 · Brad OsbornThis place took care of me and my family as our dog died. We were all so devistated over the loss. The staff took care of our family as much as they showed love and tenderness as they helped our suffering friend pass away with no pain and ending what would have been long drawn out suffering. They let us stay in our room and took all the time we needed.I am so glad we had The staff Banfield to help us through that terrifying night. We got a card in the mail with hand written notes from the staff a few days later.Banfield has earned my loyalty for life. They are now helping us get started with our new puppy.Thank you Banfield staff!!!
