Millerton Veterinary Practice, PLLC Introduce
For pet owners across the New York region, particularly in the scenic Hudson Valley, finding a veterinary practice that offers comprehensive, compassionate, and holistic care is paramount. Millerton Veterinary Practice, located in the heart of Millerton, has earned a stellar reputation as a go-to destination for those who seek not only traditional veterinary medicine but also alternative and integrative therapies. This practice stands out for its unique approach, combining cutting-edge Western medical diagnostics and procedures with treatments like acupuncture and chiropractic care. Led by a team of veterinarians, including Dr. Carrie Cannon, who is certified in both chiropractic and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), the hospital provides a level of specialized care that is both rare and highly sought after. Clients consistently praise the entire staff for their professionalism, warmth, and genuine love for animals, often noting that they feel completely at ease entrusting their beloved pets to this practice.
The philosophy at Millerton Veterinary Practice is centered on treating the entire animal, not just a specific symptom. They understand that a pet's health is a complex tapestry influenced by physical, mental, and emotional factors. This is where their expertise in integrative medicine shines. While they are fully equipped for comprehensive veterinary care, including emergency services, diagnostic procedures, and surgery, they also offer a wide range of alternative therapies. These include acupuncture for dogs and cats, therapeutic laser treatments, and animal chiropractic. For pets suffering from chronic pain, mobility issues, or even anxiety, these non-invasive treatments can provide significant relief and improve their overall quality of life. The veterinarians work closely with pet parents to create individualized healthcare plans that fit within their lifestyle and philosophical beliefs about health, ensuring a collaborative and respectful partnership. This bespoke approach to care is a major reason why clients, even those who have to travel a considerable distance, consider this practice the "best" they have ever found.
One of the most remarkable features of this practice is its expertise in animal chiropractic. This specialized form of care focuses on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, using gentle adjustments to restore proper alignment and movement in an animal's spine and joints. This can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain and arthritis to mobility issues and even behavioral problems. The veterinary team, particularly those certified in this area, understands that pets of all ages, from active young dogs to aging seniors, can benefit from chiropractic care to maintain health and prevent injuries. Unlike many other practices that might offer a single-focus service, Millerton Veterinary Practice integrates this treatment seamlessly into a pet’s overall wellness plan, combining it with other therapies or traditional medicine as needed. This integrated approach, which is uncommon to find outside of a full veterinary practice, provides a significant advantage for pet owners seeking the best possible outcomes for their animal's health.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Millerton Veterinary Practice isn’t the closest vet to me, but they’re the best. I trust all three veterinarians implicitly with my dogs, and I am very picky about who takes care of them. The staff is friendly and caring, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
May 24 · Lee SohlI just got home from taking my dog Halle to our first visit to Millerton Veterinary Practice and I just had to write a review. Halle is 6 years old and has always been terrified of going to the vet. This was hands down, the BEST visit she's had since I adopted her 5 years ago, I am so grateful to have found this practice, we loved everyone that we met.Our Vet Assistant was Emily. Her relaxed demeanor with Halle was perfection. She set her up for success and Halle quickly decided she really liked her a lot. (She loves people, but at vet's offices she's highly skeptical...) When Dr. Cannon came in, Halle instantly knew she was THE Doctor, and got a bit tense for a bit, but Dr. Cannon's down to earth calm demeanor was infectious, and soon Halle was the most calm she's EVER been with a veterinarian, ever. Even Dee Dee, at the front desk was kind and seemed to genuinely care. All of my favorite vets I've taken my pets to have retired, and I've been struggling to find the right practice. So many look good on paper, but turned out to be all smoke and mirrors, honestly. Millerton is different. It's exceptional without saying so - it's all the things, but truly, genuinely, authentically, if that makes sense. Also, you know what they say about animals being the best judges of character? Halle approves!!! Thank you so SO much! I finally feel like she's in really good hands.
August 20 · Lisa T PrinceI brought my dog Whitney in for routine bloodwork and itchiness on her muzzle. I had never seen Dr Fahey before and was very impressed with the way treated my dog and I and how she explained everything. I'm a convert from Sand Road Animal Hospital. SRAH used to be great with Dr Dave there, unfortunately the practice was sold out and I feel that it's no longer what it once was. MVP will be my girl's new vet from now on. I was very happy with the Dr. and her staff..
August 16 · BrianWe absolutely loved Dr. Tatiana Nikitas, DVM, Krissy and the entire staff. We moved from Florida recently, and our 13 year old westie needed a new vet, obviously. The transition was wonderful! Dr. Nikitas had a lot of records to review, she was very compassionate and loveable with our Osita, and we were all so relieved to know we found an excellent vet and staff to care for her as she ages. Osita also agrees!
April 18 · Lily PallayAlways a joy to bring in my loved ones, whether it's a yearly check up or the big goodbye...this is a house of caring & excellence
