★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr Kubis and all the staff my cats and I have interacted with are all extremely welcoming, friendly and show their obvious love for animals. We have experienced thorough examinations with detailed explanations of their conditions and recommended treatment plans. Estimates were provided and my Susan recently had a procedure under anesthesia and received excellent treatment and care. The staff followed up the next day and we were extremely satisfied with the whole experience from start to finish and we highly recommend Simsbury Veterinary Hospital to all animal lovers!!!
May 24 · Jane GutowskiThis is where I took my puppy pittie for his very first appointment. The staff and doctors are very friendly and professional. Rocky was so excited for the attention received from the staff. I was very happy with the visit. I also took my 3 cats for the first time, they were so gentle and friendly with my cats. This made me so happy 😊 I would totally recommend this facility to anyone... 10 out of 10!!!
March 28 · Damaris SantiangoUpdate 8/27After getting such good care here, I was very disappointed that they wanted $10.75 for a written prescription for my dogs meds so I could get them at my online pharmacy. It was explained to me that if I used their online pharmacy, there would be no charge for the prescription. Their online pharmacy was priced higher than Chewy ($24 vs $15).There is no excuse or reason to charge money for a written prescription other than revenue enhancement. I changed the 5 stars to 3.-------My beagle needed attention and my regular vet was booked full. I was lucky to get an appointment with this office the next day. I was very pleased with Dr Kubis and the staff. They were excellent with a very skittish beagle and they worked with my regular vet to get records and hand the diagnosis back to the regular vet.----Update 8/1/25Thanks once again to these folks for helping the beagle through some issues. Dr McGrath was understanding and supportive. I've been fortunate with the vets that have taken care of my beagle in his later years.
August 27 · Len JI can not recommend Simsbury Veterinary Hospital. We had used Simsbury Vet for over thirty five years with Dr Korten. Just a few years ago the business was assumed by new Veterinarians. In my opinion, this created a major loss to the community. In my particular situation, the new vets had been caring for our dog Gracy for the past two years. I’d been speaking with doctor Batorski over many weeks about Gracie’s (our 15 year old dog)end of life process. Everything came to a head last week.I called Tuesday at 10:50 to speak with Dr about getting the sedative medications to prep her for euthanizing. Dr called me back at 5:38pm that day. After discussion, she said she would issue the Rx and have it ready the next day. Dr said to call when ready for the euthanasia— that a few slots are usually open every day, and if not, it could be done at lunch or at the end of the day.Hearing nothing about the Rx the next morning, I called the Vet office at 11:36am to find out what’s going on? Was told that Rx could be picked up after 4:00pm that day. Meds were not ready then, but they were gathered in short order. Dr Kubis reviewed the dosing requirements with me.Thursday morning our dog was showing very little change, but by the evening it was clear that it was “time”.So I Called Simsbury Veterinarian hospital at 8:30am Friday morning to make the appointment for euthanizing anytime on that day.I was told by the receptionist that the“first appointment available was (the next) Thursday”. She said “we are short of doctors — and that “no doctor is even in the office today”. I was incredulous, and asked again for help, explaining the background discussions with Dr Batorski, and what was now needed. But I was told again “no doctor in the office until monday”…. and “Monday is fully booked”.I said that this was an emergency, and that they must have someway to help? But the receptionist was unwavering—- there was nothing they could do.(I scrambled around trying to get help from other Vets in the area. As you might imagine, they were all quite busy, but I finally managed to get the services needed. It was a harrowing day, and thank god that there are other caring and sympathetic vets in the area.)Many of you may know the prior owner of the Simsbury Vet Hospital. Dr Korten was our vet for three dogs, and three cats, covering more than 35 years. If I recall, he owned, and operated, Simsbury Veterinary for about 40 years. If you needed him, he’d figure out a way to help—- 24/7. Korten retired a few years ago, and I’ve learned the hard way that the current “Simsbury Veterinary” was not there when I needed them most!If you are looking for a Vet, I recommend that you look elsewhere.Postscript:Dr Kubis called three days later (9:03 am Monday) and leaves voice message offering to help if still necessary….
June 20 · W KellyOur experiences with Simsbury Veterinary Hospital have been nothing but positive. Dr Kubis and the staff are caring and supportive and helped us through a very stressful situation with our German Shepherd. They are patient and spend the time we need to understand and decide on appropriate treatments. We're very happy with the care they have provided for our dog Maddie.
