★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We switched from another Vet. We have a 7-year old rescue Lab. Dr. Ashenfelter did the annual wellness checkup and shots. Dr. A and their Technician were great. Both super-bright, communicated well. Front Desk personnel were very helpful as well. This gives us our dog's primary and ER at the same office. The office is not as upscale as our previous Vet but clearly the level of professionalism is first-class.
August 19 · Cliff WrightAmazing staff! Johnny called and had some bees saved. Not only do they help heal your pets, they help the ecosystem by saving bees! Wonderful happy staff and as I got ready to sit in the waiting room I was pleased to see a furry little cat sprawled out on the chair I was looking to sit on. All the staff were great, but that little black cat was my favorite.
July 09 · Derek AbelloMy fur babies have never been in better hands. I have several chronically ill cats and instead a the vet seeing them for treatments (after diagnosed) I am able to get a less expensive tech appointment. Not only does this save me money but it frees up the vet’s schedule. The staff has always considered our pets first.
November 27 · Margaret MCCORMACKAn absolutely wonderful staff and facility. We came here for an after hours emergency years ago and were so impressed we switch all four of our dogs to use this facility as our primary care. We also use it for our fosters, and now how friends and family driving in from other parts of the valley for their pets.
June 17 · Daniel MurphyWe’ve been here twice, with 2 different dogs, and both were bad experiences-one with the emergency vet, and another witha general practice vet.Over year ago, our dog slipped a few discs in his back and couldn’t use his back legs. We took him to their emergency vet and explained in detail what happened, but after mentioning what meds he’s on (fluconazole for valley fever) any discussion about an injury stopped. The vet seemed tunnel visioned the loss of the use of his legs was valley fever related, even after an accident. We were sent home only with an anti-inflammatory and no pain meds. We took him to another emergency vet the next day who quickly diagnosed his injury and discovered he needed surgery. He was referred to a neurologist, but surgery was delayed and required a hospital stay due to an infection that started from the injury that needed to be treated first. He survived and had the surgery thanks to the 2nd emergency hospital and is doing well today, but what a huge miss from the VCA hospital.A few months ago we adopted a dog from the humane society. She came with a voucher for a free exam at a VCA. Against our better judgment we went back. We were told by someone at the humane society VCA locations had the dog’s records during her time there, so we thought it made sense to go, and this wasn’t an emergency. Not knowing her past, we wanted a full work up, so the more information they had the better. Our appt was with the medical director, so I had high expectations for our experience, but overall we were treated as though we were just there for the free exam. They were not friendly, we felt dismissed, but they did try to sell us on their wellness plan. For what? A discount on more sub par service? They did not offer to do any tests, but we asked them to run blood work, which cost over $500. I expected more than a short text the next day saying everything looked fine. Most vets have the courtesy to call their clients to go over the results and answer any questions. They certainly aren’t trying to get or keep new patients. We should have stayed with our first impression and not gone back. In both cases, we felt we were given the bare minimum and there are far too many vets in the valley to waste time, money, and any pets care on bad service here.
