Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in the Santa Clarita Valley and the broader Los Angeles area, the opening of a new, state-of-the-art emergency veterinary hospital is a game-changer. Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Stevenson Ranch has brought a much-needed service to the community, revolutionizing the way pet emergencies are handled. This article will provide a detailed and engaging overview of VEG, a place designed to help people and their pets when they need it most. Unlike traditional vet hospitals, VEG operates with a unique, open-concept philosophy that prioritizes transparency, comfort, and direct involvement from pet parents.
The concept behind VEG is simple yet radical: to make a stressful situation less stressful. They understand that an emergency with a beloved pet can be a terrifying experience, and they have built their entire model around alleviating that fear and uncertainty. From the moment you arrive, you are not left waiting in a sterile lobby; instead, care begins immediately, and you are encouraged to stay with your pet throughout the entire process, including examinations, diagnostics, and even surgery. This approach creates a sense of partnership and control during a time of crisis.
The team at VEG is specially trained to handle a wide range of emergencies for all kinds of pets, including exotic animals. They are committed to providing a calm and comforting environment, not only for the animal but also for the person. As one grateful client mentioned, the staff makes sure you, the owner, are also taken care of, providing bedding for the couch, snacks, and drinks. This level of empathetic and attentive service is a testament to their mission. We will explore the convenient location, the extensive emergency services, and the unique features that make VEG a beacon of hope for pet families in urgent situations.

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is an excellent choice because it addresses all these needs with a unique and compassionate model. The most compelling reason to choose VEG is their revolutionary "stay together" philosophy. This transparency and permission to be with your pet throughout the entire process, from triage to surgery, is a rare and comforting offering that can significantly reduce the anxiety for both you and your pet. As one client shared after a 24-hour stay, the ability to have a private room and stay by their reactive dog's side was "the absolute best way to go" and "so ideal and worth it." This personalized approach truly sets them apart.
Furthermore, the professionalism and empathy of the staff are consistently highlighted in customer testimonials. From Dr. Kyle to the entire team, clients praise their ability to handle a scary situation with "professionalism, compassion, and state-of-the-art care." ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We (unfortunately) were the first patients to the new VEG - but I'm so glad it was available at that moment and so glad we went there! We spent about 24 hours there, and I got to stay by my dogs side the entire time. He's quite reactive, but they were very accommodating - and having a private room where I also got to stay with him was the absolute best way to go! The comfort for us both was so ideal and worth it.I was, of course, unprepared for an emergency visit and an overnight stay, but everyone was very attentive and supportive to both what my dog needed, but also what I needed. They have bedding for the couch beds, snacks and drinks, and will really make sure you're also taken care of - to help keep your baby cared for, too.Everyone there both days and overnight who helped us - thank you all so so much for everything. Everyone took such great care of us both, and we're so grateful. While I hope we dont have to see any of you there again - you're all amazing, and we thank you for all your help. Toby and I are very appreciative and felt very supported.I'm so glad somewhere with this concept of being able to stay with your pet exists, and I'm so glad Santa Clarita now has a 24/7 facility like this. That was very needed here. If you're in an urgent situation with your pet - go to VEG!
July 11 · Jess JamesA Heartfelt Thank You to VEG – Santa Clarita’s Newest Emergency Vet HospitalLast night, we had the chance to visit Santa Clarita’s much-needed and newly opened Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) — and what a blessing it is to have them in our community! The hospital just opened its doors three weeks ago, and already it’s making a big difference for local pet families. We brought in our sweet Shadow after a scary episode with old dog Vestibular symptoms. It’s never easy watching your pet go through something like that — but Dr. Kyle and the entire VEG team handled everything with professionalism, compassion, and state-of-the-art care. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel seen, supported, and safe. The facility is truly impressive — clean, modern, and equipped with advanced technology. But even more remarkable is the calm, comforting energy they bring to stressful situations. Their approach is transparent and hands-on, allowing pet parents to stay with their animals throughout the entire process. If you’re a pet owner in the Santa Clarita Valley, add VEG to your emergency contacts now. You never know when you’ll need them — but you’ll be so glad they’re there.📍 VEG – Veterinary Emergency GroupSanta Clarita, CA(Recently opened – 3 weeks ago!)Thank you, Dr. Kyle and team, for being there for Shadow — and for all of us.
July 31 · Victoria SzuchSo relieved to have a veterinary ER/hospital that is actually open 24/7. Staff was compassionate, competent, and helpful. The doctor (Dr. Dowling) was extremely thorough, did a comprehensive workup, and provided excellent explanations and documentation. The vet techs did an amazing job with EKG, blood pressure, and blood draws. My rather large dog was calm the entire time. The policy of keeping dog and owner together through all the procedures was most welcome. Unlike other places, my dog was not at all traumatized. Some people complained about cost, but emergency care is always expensive. I feel that I got very good value and my dog got excellent care…well worth the money. In addition, I was referred here by my vet, whom I trust completely. He had previously referred me elsewhere when unable to get us in; once this place opened, he made an immediate change, and I’m so glad he did! Can’t say enough good things about VEG!
August 10 · Linda SchmidtMy Max had an emergency and my vet was closed Wednesdays. I can’t express how above and beyond everyone that works here made me feel. It is open concept which is so amazing when it comes to teamwork. It just works so much better! The bonus was that I was able to stay with my pet during his procedure which made it so much better for my cat. The medical director and Dr Harris first saw my Max and everyone jumped in to help. After removing half a liter of fluid from his chest area they put him in an oxygen chamber to help him. I was able to sit by him and the staff offered me tissues and snacks. One staff member came and asked if I needed a hug and I said I really did. It helps so much when all the staff are so empathetic. 🥹🥹 I felt so beyond comfortable the whole time. They explained the plan and always kept me informed. Dr. Abedi worked days the following days he was there. She would call and always talked to me when I would show up to visit. I was so distraught and I wish I remembered everyone’s name to thank them individually. I remember Mia and I think her name was Bianca, black hair green streaks. 5 different techs were the ones I dealt with. They were so caring. Also, the nighttime staff and Dr. made me feel so comfortable going home to sleep. I was able to laugh and thank them, and felt at peace going home knowing Max would get the best care.I’m so happy we finally have an EXCEPTIONAL 24 hour ER here. Every 24 hour place should be this open concept and letting their owners be involved in care if they chose. I’m crying writing this review. Thank you, everyone from the bottom of my heart.
July 18 · Witchy PooTLDR - I would hands down come here again with my dog or my mom's dog.My mom's dog got hurt at the dog park (her dew claw got seriously cracked after getting snagged). I went to her regular vet who was unable to see her but recommended that I go to VEG (veterinary emergency group). The second I walked in the door I knew I came to the right place. The layout is very open and the young lady at the front desk was very calm and friendly. They quickly assessed her, Dr. Chavez knew exactly what to do and gave me options. I was given time to think as well as an estimate. Once I talked with my mom we went forward with treatment. The team was very competent and caring.Kenzie is on the mend and I am greatful I was told about them.
