Vital Equine Holistic Veterinary Medicine Introduce
In the equine-rich landscapes of Southern California, particularly in communities like Calabasas and the surrounding equestrian estates, horse owners are often seeking a higher level of care that goes beyond the conventional. Vital Equine Holistic Veterinary Medicine, led by the distinguished Dr. Rhiannon Fenton, represents a new paradigm in animal health. This practice is uniquely set apart from mainstream medicine, aligning with those who desire a more integrated, custom-tailored, and professional veterinary approach for their horses. By blending the best of both Western and Eastern medicine, Vital Equine focuses on getting to the root of health issues, rather than simply masking symptoms.
This article serves as a comprehensive guide for local Californians, providing an in-depth look at what makes Vital Equine a premier choice for equine and large animal healthcare. We will explore its unique location and operational model, the extensive range of holistic services it provides, and the key features that highlight its commitment to compassionate and effective healing. Drawing from factual public data and the glowing testimonials of real clients, this content aims to paint a clear picture of the exceptional care that defines this practice. The tone is professional and reassuring, reflecting the peace of mind that comes from entrusting a beloved animal to an expert who practices with a "loving kind heart."
The core philosophy of Vital Equine is to thoroughly investigate and identify the underlying reasons for disease, poor health, or decreased performance. Instead of relying solely on drugs or surgery, the practice employs functional medicine principles to facilitate true healing at a cellular level. Dr. Fenton's approach is highly personalized, focusing on the whole animal—including their mental, emotional, and spiritual state—which is considered crucial for complete well-being. This inclusive strategy has been praised by clients who have witnessed remarkable turnarounds in their animals, even in cases that other veterinarians deemed "hopeless."
Dr. Fenton's dedication to her craft is a defining feature of the practice. As one review highlighted, she is constantly expanding her education and is not afraid to "spend so much time looking for answers" by contacting specialists and universities. This humility and relentless pursuit of knowledge set her apart and ensure that the animals she works with truly thrive. Her ability to provide months of quality life to a beloved pet after conventional vets recommended euthanasia is a powerful testament to the effectiveness of her holistic approach, particularly with whole food nutritional therapy.
Location and Accessibility
Vital Equine Holistic Veterinary Medicine is located at 4774 Park Granada Box 9281, Calabasas, CA 91372, USA. The practice operates as a mobile service, making it highly accessible to horse owners throughout the region. As it is an ambulatory practice, it doesn't have a traditional physical clinic location that clients visit. Instead, Dr. Fenton travels directly to the barns and homes of her patients. This model is exceptionally convenient for horse owners, eliminating the stress and logistics of trailering a horse for a vet visit. It also allows the veterinarian to assess the animal in its natural, comfortable environment, which can be beneficial for an accurate diagnosis.
The mailing address is a P.O. Box, which further indicates the mobile nature of the business. For a practice that specializes in horses, being able to provide on-site care is a crucial feature that provides a higher level of convenience and personalized service to the equestrian community in California.

She actually takes the time to thoroughly explain what is physically or mentally going on with your animal and the course of treatment she recommends to heal them. She is very knowledgeable and practices with a loving kind heart. She has been nothing short of amazing with my animals. and I would highly recommend her !!!
February 19 · Deborah MariettaDr. Fenton gives her all to the animals she works with. I won't be able to make this short because this woman has done more for me and my animals than I can ever repay her for. I have been seeing her as a client since having worked with her at a small animal holistic clinic and she has never lost her passion to learn so that she can help animals to the best that she can. She would spend so much time looking for answers if she could not find it, contacting specialists and universities for help. Her ego does not get in the way like some doctor's do. This is why the animals she works with thrive. When doctors told me that it was time to put my cat Sophie down, she gave us another two months of quality life. I realized then, how effective whole food nutritional therapy could be even in a case that most vets thought was hopeless. Sophie's internist, emergency vet and staff were always surprised at how much energy and life Sophie had. The best thing about the whole process was that I was active in her journey and I did not feel completely helpless and that allowed me to enjoy my time with my precious girl.Dr. Fenton first worked on my dog, Patty
April 24 · himeno vigoDr. Fenton is TRULY THE BEST. She is not only a great vet, but she also incorporates holistic treatment and approaches. When my little one's health took a turn (heart murmur, luxating patella, back disc/nerve), a friend had referred me. Dr. Fenton treated my little one, Spencer, for about 3 years where she changed his diet, put him on supplements, and regular acupuncture and therapy treatments. All of Spencer's other vets (cardiologist, dentist, primary/pediatrician, emergency pet clinic) were all astonished on how well he was doing without meds and surgery and would ask what we're doing. In the 3 years most people thought Spencer was fine and in good health. It is because of Dr. Fenton that Spencer did so well and was able to maintain quality of life. Dr. Fenton helped ensure my promise to Spencer, to be happy and not suffer. I was truly fortunate to have Dr. Fenton and blessed to have been Spencer's momma.
February 23 · Sarah RheeDr.Fenton is so amazing! We have taken my dog to so many vets in hopes of getting her vision back. Dr. Fenton had her feeling and seeing better within hours! She is so kind and professional and so thorough! I highly recommend her!💖💖
August 31 · Lauren CarrDr. Fenton is simply the best! The proof is in the results. Dr. Fenton is a medical detective of sorts. She works tirelessly to find the root of the problem and treats the entire horse. I recently discovered a horse in peril that needed help and asked Dr.Fenton to step in. I was hoping to find an answer to the horses consistent daily seizures. Dr. Fenton looked at the entire horse. She did a blood panel, muscle tests and other tests. Dr Fenton noticed her teeth had not been floated in many years. It was so bad that the teeth issues had caused such severe pain causing nerve interference. I appreciated the way Dr. Fenton patiently, lovingly and pain free floated the teeth. She has a power free technique that is important for overall horse health. Almost immediately thé horse was looking and feeling so much better. It’s been many months and our sweet girl is officially feeling great and seizure free!If it were not for Dr. Fenton figuring out exactly what was needed we don’t think our dear girl would have survived much longer. We are forever grateful that she took the time necessary to look and think beyond the usual scope. Dr. Fenton’s approach to the whole horse is very important and necessary. She is extremely educated as a medical vet and so much more. Dr. Fenton has brilliantly applied many functional medical techniques successfully to animals. She has an important connection with each animal she treats and has all the necessary tools, talents and education to discover the root of the problem along with the proper treatment based on the best interests of the animal. I am forever thankful for Dr. Fenton. She is a gifted, loving and caring vet- truly one of a kind.
