Parrot Cabana Introduce
For bird enthusiasts in the greater Oregon area, finding a reputable and knowledgeable source for a new feathered friend can be a challenge. In Hillsboro, Parrot Cabana stands out as a specialized bird shop dedicated to the care and placement of a variety of birds, with a particular focus on parrots and cockatiels. This is not a general pet store, but a niche business that caters specifically to the unique needs of avian companions. While the experience of purchasing a bird can be complex, many customers have found the process of bringing home a new companion to be a smooth one, as one client noted after taking home two cockatiels.
As a local, women-owned business, Parrot Cabana plays a specific role within the community of pet lovers. They are a resource for those seeking to find a healthy, well-socialized bird to welcome into their home. The process involves direct communication and interaction with the owners, Michelle and Kel, and their family, who are responsible for the daily care of the birds. This hands-on approach is often a highlight for customers, who appreciate the personalized communication and the opportunity to get to know the people who raised their new pet. This type of specialized care is what differentiates a dedicated bird shop from a larger, more generalized pet store.
Parrot Cabana is located at 294 SE 2nd Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97123, USA. As a small, local business, it is a key part of the Hillsboro community. The physical location serves as the base for their operations, where they care for the birds and where customers come to pick up their new companions. The address is conveniently situated for residents of Hillsboro and the surrounding areas, making it a accessible destination for anyone in the region seeking a bird shop.
While the store itself is a physical location, it is important to note that the experience is based on direct interaction and appointments, rather than a traditional retail setup with open doors to the public. The business operates with the flexibility needed for the special care of birds and to give each customer the attention they need during the selection and purchasing process.
The services offered by Parrot Cabana are centered around the breeding, raising, and placement of healthy birds. Their main focus is on providing a new companion and ensuring it is a good fit for its new home.

When considering a bird from Parrot Cabana, it's important to weigh the pros and cons to decide if it's the right choice for you. On the one hand, a major reason to choose Parrot Cabana is its specialization. As a dedicated bird shop, they have a deeper focus on avian health and behavior than a general pet store. The fact that the business is run by a family, with a reported emphasis on communication and care, is also a significant plus for many customers. One satisfied client expressed that they "couldn't imagine a smoother process" when bringing their two cockatiels home, which highlights a successful experience. However, some reviews indicate that potential buyers should be proactive in their communication and ask for all costs and documentation, such as the DNA certificate, in writing to avoid any misunderstandings. It is recommended that you confirm all details, including what is included with the purchase of a bird and what costs are separate. By doing your own research and communicating clearly, you can ensure a positive experience and bring home a healthy, happy bird to be a part of your family. For local Oregonians who are dedicated to finding a healthy and well-cared-for parrot or cockatiel, Parrot Cabana offers a specialized and personalized option within the community.

April 01 · Jennifer ThomasBought a bird from them in February. When asking about price they let me know cost of bird and DNA. They do not provide you with a way to get the bird home and if you don’t have a bird carrier they charge for one. They never spoke about a required purchase of bird seed until after we drove an hour and were in store. It’s Ringneck season and because they are a local business that has bird and did provide me with a healthy reasonably priced bird I decided to reach out again. They charge the customer for DNA but don’t provide the certificate of proof and claim that we never asked for it however we asked in store and where told they would email it to us. When this was mentioned they refer to the FB messages as proof of no request for the DNA results we paid for indicating you better get everything in writing from them. They claimed the lack of telling me about the other required purchases was an oversight. I could accept this if it was a one time thing but as you can see in the pics, they did not mention DNA charge or required bag of seed. Any knowledgeable bird breeder, rescue, expert like they claim to be know seed is a very unhealthy primary food for caged birds and causes fatty liver disease and creates a bad start for the bird and there new owner. Seed is a treat not a staple. Because I asked about the unspoken fees they decided not to do business with me.
May 07 · Tommy BonnetThe people here knew their stuff and had an amazing deal for us to be able to bring home our new feathered baby. They allowed us to visit many of the green cheek conures to find the perfect one for us to bring home. They had affordable carrying cages for us and made sure we had information to be able to contact them if there were any questions or concerns with our new baby.Thank you so much for your patience with all our questions and allowing us to visit multiple birds for us to find our perfect one.
July 23 · Amy St. GermainParrot Cabana Is a place that sells exotic birds. The shop also sells panty a bird supplies. I asked when They usually get birds in, and they said that they usually get them during the Spring and summer seasons. Inside the shop was a little stinky.
