My husband and I recently moved to San Pedro with our two dogs, Charley and Gertrude, and we were searching for the right vet care. Especially for Charley, who is almost 15 and has had health concerns come up slowly and one after another as she ages. For over a decade, we were with a clinic in our old neighborhood in Hollywood but over time the care felt less attentive, and I was left with more questions than clarity about Charley’s health. Facing the uncertainty of whether she was truly at the end of her life or if her treatments were helping was overwhelming.When we moved here, I tried calling around for care, but struggled to even get an appointment elsewhere. From the very first phone call to At Your Service Veterinary Hospital, I knew this place was different. The staff were warm, asked about my dogs by name, and even asked about our move. They offered me an appointment right away, which gave me immediate relief.When we arrived, I was impressed before even walking in with the thoughtful touches like astroturf potty areas, parking right at the entrance, and a calm, clean waiting room where it never feels overcrowded. The front desk team was incredibly kind and patient, even helping weigh Charley,who has been fearful of the vet ever since a traumatic dog attack years ago.We were taken to a spacious exam room, and when Dr. Moss and his technician entered, I was nervous because Charley can be protective especially around tall men. He’s super tall. But Dr. Moss read her perfectly. He was patient, gentle, and even sat on the floor across from her eventually, speaking with me while slowly earning her trust. He never rushed, asked thoughtful questions, and gave me honest, direct feedback in a way that felt both reassuring and compassionate. At one point when I grew emotional about wanting to care for Charley in her final chapter, his technician handed me tissues without missing a beat. I felt completely supported and understood.By the end of the visit, Charley was calm and comfortable with Dr. Moss, something I hadn’t seen with her at the vet her entire life. He adjusted her medications with a clear plan, and the changes immediately improved her quality of life. Today she is noticeably happier and healthier, and I feel relieved knowing her care is in the right hands.Gertrude, our younger golden retriever, is the opposite…joyful and enthusiastic about everyone she meets. The way the staff and Dr. Moss welcomed her energy while honoring Charley’s cautiousness meant so much to me. Every visit since, the staff remember details about our family, ask follow-up questions about things we’ve shared, and greet both dogs…especially Gertie.The care here is attentive, thoughtful, and high-quality in every way. I had an awesome first experience today. I brought my cat in for second opinion on her back teeth. They cleaned her teeth and ended up removing two. My cat is happier than ever! Dr. Moss and all the staff were so kind. It was a very beautiful and clean space. So easy to make an appointment and be seen right away. We have found a new vet!

I am so grateful for this clinic! Dr Moss is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. I trust him with all aspects of my cat’s care. He is also compassionate and kind. The staff at this clinic have created a positive and peaceful atmosphere. Upon arrival we were received in an exam room, no waiting in the common area, no interaction with other animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better vet!! The staff was so kind and accommodating and even offered us a menu with snacks and various coffee drinks. Dr. Moss was so kind with our kitten and helped us with all the information we needed. The price was also very reasonable, we walked away feeling so taken care of and grateful.
