Choosing CAMP Clinic San Pedro is a decision to support a veterinary practice that is deeply embedded in its community. The positive review highlights a truly great experience, with the staff and doctor being praised for their friendliness, efficiency, and personal attention. This type of feedback, especially from someone who feels a need to "highly recommend" the clinic, is a strong endorsement of their professionalism and care.
However, the contrasting negative review raises several serious concerns. The claim of a botched surgery where a dog was cut and the owner was not informed is a major red flag, pointing to potential issues with transparency and surgical procedure. The complaints about poor communication, including phone calls being unanswered and a lack of follow-up, suggest a significant breakdown in their administrative processes. The accusation of a fee being charged without a service being rendered also points to potential issues with customer service and billing.
For a potential new client in California, it is essential to consider both sides of this coin. On one hand, you have a clinic with a noble mission, providing essential services at an affordable price and with genuinely compassionate medical professionals like Dr. Ross. The positive reviews suggest that when the process works, it works very well. On the other hand, the negative review points to serious systemic issues that could affect a pet's health and a client's experience. This clinic may be an excellent choice for straightforward, routine services like vaccinations or wellness exams, where the expertise of the medical staff is a primary factor. However, for more complex surgical or medical issues, it would be prudent to ask very detailed questions about their procedures and follow-up care. The high-volume nature of a community clinic might contribute to some of the communication challenges, but it is ultimately up to the pet owner to decide if the benefits of their services outweigh the potential risks highlighted by other customers.

August 18 · DaniCut my recently adopted dog on the inner leg during neuter and did not advise me. Told me that they didn't have the resources to help me with Kennel Cough, which was contracted at a shelter they are connected to.Very rude associates on the phone if you can get through to them, and they won't call you back even though their voicemail says they will. Have left me on hold for upwards of 20 minutes only to hang up on me. Won't let me cancel my appointment that they charged me $30.00 to book.
