Dr. Craig Little/ Tender Comforts in home Pet Euthanasia Introduce
Navigating the end-of-life journey with a beloved pet is one of the most difficult and emotional experiences a pet owner can face. In times like these, the thought of transporting a sick or elderly animal to a busy, clinical veterinary hospital can add immense stress to an already heartbreaking situation. For residents of New Jersey, there is a compassionate and peaceful alternative that allows pets to pass with dignity and comfort in the familiar surroundings of their own home. Dr. Craig Little, through his practice Tender Comforts, specializes in in-home pet euthanasia and hospice care, offering a gentle, loving, and stress-free end-of-life experience for both the pet and their family.
Tender Comforts is not just a veterinary service; it is a lifeline for families who want to ensure their furry, feathered, or scaled companions have a peaceful final moment. Dr. Little and his dedicated team, including his wife Susie and vet tech Cindy, are known for their profound empathy and professionalism. They understand the deep bond between humans and their pets and are committed to making this final farewell as serene as possible. This personalized approach to care sets them apart, providing a peaceful alternative to the often-sterile environment of a traditional hospital. It's a service built on compassion, respect, and a deep understanding of the grief and love that surrounds a pet's passing.
The core of their philosophy is to provide a calm and pain-free transition, allowing pets to be held and comforted by their family in their favorite spot, be it on a heated blanket in the sun or in their owner's arms. This service is a testament to the belief that every pet deserves a peaceful and dignified ending, surrounded by the people and places they love most. Beyond the immediate procedure, Tender Comforts offers a full suite of aftercare services to support families through every step of this difficult time, ensuring all practical needs are met with the same level of care and sensitivity as the emotional ones.
Based in Flemington, New Jersey, Tender Comforts provides a convenient and comforting service to residents throughout the region. The practice is easily accessible for those in the area, situated at 1140 Barley Sheaf Rd, Flemington, NJ 08822. For those with mobility needs, the location features a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, ensuring that family members can arrive and depart with ease. This thoughtful consideration for accessibility reflects the practice’s overall commitment to providing a stress-free and supportive experience for every member of the family. Since services are provided in the home, the physical location acts more as a central hub for their operations, but it’s their mobile care that truly defines their service model. They bring their compassionate care directly to you, eliminating the need for a stressful car ride for an already ailing pet.
To ensure every pet receives the undivided attention they deserve, appointments are required and highly recommended. This allows the team to be fully prepared and to dedicate ample time to each family, walking them through the process without rushing. The team at Tender Comforts understands that the decision to euthanize is one of the hardest a person can make, and they are dedicated to making the process as smooth and supportive as possible.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am deeply saddened with the loss of my cat, Mai. I am so happy I had somebody come to the house. That was the hardest day of my life. Susie answered the phone right away and scheduled the appointment immediately. I appreciated that as the dread build up was terrible. Dr. Litter and Cindy saw me in such a emotional state. They kept their cool and walked me through the process. They allowed the final moments of my cat to be in comfort in my arms, in the sun, on the heated blanket. I will use them again, but hopefully not any time soon.
January 28 · lcDr. Little, his wife Susie and his loyal vet tech Cindy, were amazing! They were compassionate, kind, loving and incredibly efficient. They outlined every step, told us what to expect and helped us to give our beloved dog the perfect ending she deserved. Dignified, peaceful and pain free. It was truly a blessing. We will be forever grateful.
August 15 · Madelyn DunnIn June we needed to say goodbye to our 18-year-old cat, whose health was failing. We were so lucky to find Dr. Little and Tender Comforts! I hated the thought of a last car ride to the vet's office, and it was so much more personal and comforting to have Dr. Little and Susie come to our house. They were very compassionate and kind, and they moved the process along without rushing us in any way. We'll always remember our kitty gently leaving this earth in his favorite sunbeam, looking out his favorite window. Thank you, Dr. Little, Susie, and Cindy for helping us so graciously through a difficult farewell!
January 01 · P. K.The hardest decision I had to make was putting my dog to sleep and these people are absolutely angels. Unfortunately my dog had kidney failure and was suffering and slowly dying. I truly appreciate your kindness and care. Highly recommend for anyone having to make this tough heartbreaking decision.
July 24 · Daniella ViolaWhile I knew my beloved 14-year-old Golden Retriever was nearing her final days, I assumed my vet would be available to help us through this difficult time. Unfortunately, they were fully booked (yes, really!), leaving me scrambling for alternatives on a Friday afternoon. I called a few services I found online, but it felt like I was speaking with a call center—everything was so impersonal. Then I discovered Tender Comforts, and I couldn’t be more grateful. My family chose to take our dog to their beautiful farm instead of having them come to our home. The setting was peaceful and serene, and Dr. Little and Susie were incredibly warm and compassionate. On a lovely September Saturday morning, we said our goodbyes in the shade of a small tree. It was an incredibly difficult process, but I can’t imagine a more professional or personal way to navigate it. Tender Comforts truly made a heartbreaking experience a little more bearable, and for that, I will always be thankful.
