Enfield Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across Connecticut, finding a veterinary practice that provides consistent, high-quality care is a top priority. When it comes to the health and happiness of our furry family members, we seek a professional team that not only offers comprehensive medical services but also demonstrates a genuine, compassionate approach. Enfield Animal Hospital, located in Enfield, CT, is a local veterinary office that provides a range of services for small animals, from routine check-ups to more specialized care. The hospital was established in 1977 and aims to provide complete companion animal care, including preventive, pediatric, and geriatric services.
However, recent experiences shared by some members of the community suggest that the practice's approach and overall atmosphere have undergone a significant change. According to several reviews, what was once a "fantastic" and "caring" environment has become a source of frustration for some pet owners. A recurring theme in this negative feedback is a perceived focus on "money, money, money," with one customer describing a "jaw-dropped" moment when they were allegedly forced to order an "extremely over priced" medication directly from the office's website after a prescription was denied. This kind of experience can severely erode trust and confidence, leading to a feeling of being exploited rather than supported. Another reviewer, who had been a loyal client for ten years, ultimately decided to leave the practice due to concerns about their dog's medication, as well as what they described as a "lack of friendliness" and a "condescending manner" from staff. These accounts paint a picture of a business that may be struggling to maintain its initial standards of care and customer service.
The importance of a welcoming and friendly environment in veterinary care cannot be overstated. Pet owners are often in a vulnerable and stressful state, and the attitude of the staff can make all the difference. While the hospital aims to provide compassionate care, some customers feel that this is no longer the case. The feeling of being "treated in a condescending manner" and the perceived shift in priorities have led some to seek out other vets in the area, resulting in what they describe as a "fantastic experience" elsewhere. For many in Connecticut, finding a veterinarian is about more than just the services offered; it's about the feeling of trust and partnership that is built over time. The negative feedback suggests that this bond may be difficult to establish or maintain at this particular practice.

For pet owners in Connecticut, choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision that relies on a foundation of trust, communication, and mutual respect. While Enfield Animal Hospital offers a variety of services, the experiences of some recent customers raise concerns about the practice's current approach to client relations and service. The documented struggles with getting prescriptions filled and the feeling of being treated "condescendingly" are significant red flags that prospective clients should be aware of. While it is important to acknowledge that every experience is unique, the consistent nature of the negative feedback suggests a systemic issue that may impact the quality of care for pets and their owners. For those seeking a long-term veterinary partner, a practice's attitude and transparency are just as important as its medical capabilities. The sentiment that the practice is "all about money" and the advice to "avoid this vet" from a former client are serious considerations. It is clear that, for some, Enfield Animal Hospital no longer provides the compassionate and welcoming experience that is essential for a trusted vet-client relationship. Prospective clients in Connecticut may want to explore other options to ensure the best possible care for their beloved pets.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Went prior when there was another doctor. Used to be fantastic, took my two new cats multiple times. They are all about money. Chewy lost my prescription, called them back and found out they won't write a script again, but told me I could order through their website. Which I did, they denied my order, (I thought that was so odd because the lady there said that's what I should do), then they said no only thing I could do was order their extremely over priced 2 month supply in their office. I was jaw dropped they wouldn't write another script so that was my only option. Both my up to date cats couldn't get a prescription for monthly flea meds even though chewy lost it, they also wouldnt take a call from chewy so i Could get a verbal. I was so flustered, I called and ended up going to another vet and had a fantastic experience. Avoid this vet, the 1 star reviews below are accurate, money money money.
July 26 · Jody FoisyWe unfortunately had to transfer our dog to a different vet after going here for ten years with previous pets and our current dog after continually being given medication that causes seizures for our dog. Before covid there were other vets at this practice but now it appears only one vet remains and it no longer seems to be a good fit. While I don’t want to bash the staff and I am sure they are trying their best, there is a lack of friendliness and welcoming in this office and every time we are seen it feels we are treated in a condescending manner. Overall if you are looking for the best care for your furry family member I just cannot recommend this office. I wish them the best as they strive to give animals in the area better care and hope they can improve in their attitude towards owners and family members, because after reading other reviews it is clear my family is not alone in our struggle we’ve had with this practice.
April 01 · alyssa bennettIt was an easy appointment. I was just bringing in my 8 week old kitten to be checked out. They were great as always! I have two other cats, and I've never had anything but a great experience here.
February 09 · Michelle RypyscTook my tuxedo kitty Harvey to go see Dr. Lisa everyone was so sweet and so informative and patient with my 50 million questions and concerns. My animals will be going back to see them for sure.
July 14 · Katie McCaslandAbsolutely rude vet. Very condescending and downright disrespectful. Place has gone down the tubes. Run as fast as you can to any other vet !
