Fordham Veterinary Clinic offers a range of services designed to address the needs of common household pets, namely dogs and cats. The clinic's service portfolio is built around the fundamental aspects of veterinary medicine, aiming to keep pets healthy and happy. Their offerings include:
General Veterinary Care: This includes routine check-ups, wellness exams, and general health assessments to monitor your pet's overall condition and detect any potential issues early.
Preventative Medicine: A cornerstone of the clinic's philosophy, this service focuses on proactive healthcare. It includes things like parasite prevention (for fleas, ticks, and heartworm), which is essential for pets living in both urban and suburban environments. It is much easier and often more affordable to prevent health issues than to treat them after they have developed.
Vaccinations: The clinic provides necessary vaccinations for dogs and cats to protect them from a variety of common and serious diseases. Keeping your pet's vaccinations up to date is a critical part of responsible pet ownership, helping to protect not only your own pet but also the broader animal community. The clinic can help you create a vaccination schedule that is appropriate for your pet's age, lifestyle, and risk factors.
Health Consultations: The clinic offers consultations to discuss various aspects of your pet's health, including diet, behavior, and exercise needs. These discussions provide valuable information to help you be the best pet owner you can be, ensuring your animal companion lives a fulfilling life.
By offering these core services, the clinic positions itself as a go-to resource for the day-to-day health management of local pets, providing foundational care that is accessible and straightforward for pet owners in the area.
While local veterinary clinics may share similar goals, each has unique features that set it apart. Fordham Veterinary Clinic highlights its specific approach to pet care through several key aspects:
Focus on Dogs and Cats: By concentrating on these two most common household pets, the clinic can tailor its expertise and services to their specific needs. This specialization allows them to stay up-to-date with the latest treatments and best practices for canine and feline health.
Emphasis on Preventative Medicine: The clinic's focus on preventative care is a major highlight. By encouraging pet owners to be proactive about their pets' health, the clinic aims to prevent serious illnesses before they start. This approach can save pet owners money and, more importantly, can help their pets avoid unnecessary discomfort and suffering. It's about maintaining wellness rather than just treating sickness.
Compassionate Care: The clinic's motto is "Compassionate Veterinary Care." This is a central promise to their clients and patients, suggesting a commitment to treating every animal with kindness, gentleness, and respect. For many pet owners, knowing that their pet will be handled with care is a top priority, and this is a key feature that the clinic promotes.
Appointments Recommended: The clinic's policy of recommending appointments is a feature that benefits both the clinic and its clients. It helps the staff manage their schedule, ensuring that each pet receives adequate time and attention without feeling rushed. For pet owners, it means a more predictable and efficient visit, reducing the stress that can sometimes come with waiting in a busy clinic. This simple policy helps create a more organized and professional environment.
These features together define the clinic's operational philosophy and its value proposition to the local community, emphasizing professionalism and a proactive approach to pet health.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Terrible. To be fair in a pinch you get what you pay for but Sus, sketch, iffy, to say the least. Everything about this place screams federal crime. I went once because I was desperate and homeboy tried to exploit my concern and rack up a nice hefty bill. I genuinely needed a new permanent vet so I gave it a go. If you must, and your skimping on your pets savings by all means go get that $20 vaccine but don’t expect any proof of what’s these people are putting in your pets. Worst customer to doctor experience of my life. By the way they are not on 188 st. Do not fall for it. Clearly they are evading IRS…
June 10 · Christopher SanchezI was happy to see there was a vet clinic in the neighborhood. But after coming in for a visit I regretted it.I initially came in asking about the price for spaying for both of my cats. I was told first we need to do a check up and vax and THEN I would be able to drop them off for surgery.I scheduled the check up and vax and went through with it for 60$ (each). Then I asked what’s next with the surgery and only then was the 500$ price disclosed to me. I felt deceived because this was something I asked about before everything. In terms of how the vet treated my pets I hated to watch. He moved carelessly and so quickly, that he vaccinated my 4month old kitty without taking the air out of the syringe, I quickly asked if he was supposed to not check for air and confirmed he should’ve.I was scared at this point and then it was time for my 5 year old cat, he took a bit more time this second time. But that doesn’t make him innocent for the first. There was no reason for rushing, the shop was empty. The intake was rushed, reason why I didn’t get the right info. And the communication was POOR.
March 06 · Alejandra JimenezGot a fast appointment same day and brought a small kitten, the doctor determined his age, sex and condition quickly. He had all the medicines needed for the treatment. Best of all it was at an affordable price.
January 13 · Marie MartinezExcellent care for my dog! My doggy was able to get treated soon and quickly. Will be coming by again for future visits.
February 24 · Jazlyn Sanchez-MironThis vet has gotten his license suspended in New Jersey. I took my puppy to see him when her leg was accidentally fractured he showed no compassion and was unnecessarily rough. He ordered an xray just to send us home with pain killers.
