The philosophy behind Dr. Hensen's practice, which is part of Paumanok Veterinary Hospital, is to treat the whole animal, not just the symptoms of a disease. This approach is particularly beneficial for conditions where conventional medicine may have limitations, such as chronic pain, joint issues, or age-related ailments. Pet parents who have a variety of animals, including exotic pets like birds and rabbits, often find her practice to be a compassionate and knowledgeable partner in their care. The dedication to a wide range of services, from a simple check-up to complex surgical procedures and even hospice care, ensures that pets receive consistent and comprehensive attention throughout their entire lives. This level of care fosters a deep sense of trust between the veterinarian, the pet, and the owner.

Hensen Deirdre M DVM Reviews
I dislike people that review poorly so I feel compelled to do mine. If you are displeased with the hospital, don't put the review under one vet's name that had nothing to do with your experience! I have taken my birds and rabbits to Dr. Dee for 12 years and thre practice is priced reasonably compared with other exotic practices, and she is compassionate. I received cards of condolences when grieving. Dr. Dee is knowledgeable and listens to my suggestions for meds or tests. If warranted, she agrees. Minimizing the pain to my pets will be considered in that decision. I am confident in her experience and know the limitations of what vets can do with exotics so I can't blame her or anyone if nothing is done to an ailing society finch, or rabbit. I also know veterinary care can be expensive. If you don't have the financial ability to care for your companion, don't adopt or rescue it. My rabbit was free to obtain, but pricey to maintain. We knew that going in. Thank you Dr. Dee!

June 03 · cuteus51This veterinarian office was horrible. I wrote a review about a year ago. I guess they deleted it. Go figure. The vet didn't know what he was talking about and basically suggested that our single exclusively indoor house cat was attacked, in the ass.... but I googled it and found out it was an inflamed anal gland. Give me a phd in veterinary science!!!PS. I only gave one star because you HAD to give at least one star... and the parrot in the lobby was cute. THAT. IS. IT.
