★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Making the decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog Peyton was one of the hardest moments for our family, but we are forever grateful to have found Dr. Alexis. From the very first phone call, she showed such compassion, kindness, and professionalism. She took the time to walk us through every step of the process, which allowed us to be fully present with our boy during his final moments. Her calm and gentle demeanor brought us peace on a very emotional day. Dr. Alexis turned an incredibly difficult experience into one filled with care and love. We truly can’t thank her enough for the thoughtful way she helped guide us through this.
July 07 · Allison SantanielloDr. Alexis is the only certified Hospice Veterinarian on Long Island, and it truly shows. She is incredibly knowledgeable, reliable, compassionate, and supportive during the heartbreaking process of saying goodbye to a beloved pet. When my dog Darla was diagnosed with terminal cancer four years ago, I immediately reached out to Dr. Alexis. She guided me through every step with such care, and it felt like a tremendous weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Now, as my 14-year-old dog DJ nears the end of his life, Dr. Alexis is the only person I would trust to provide this service. What makes her even more special is that she works independently, so you’re always dealing with the same caring and familiar person. That consistency and personal connection make an incredibly difficult process a little easier to bear. She is not only an exceptional veterinarian but also a genuinely good person. I am so grateful for her compassion and expertise.
August 17 · Maggie Savattereunfortunately, we had to call Dr Alexis to euthanize our beloved 12 year old Border Collie Katie-she was rescued 9 years ago and wasn't an easy dog but truly loved. We are heartbroken but Dr Alexis helped Katie to the Rainbow Bridge with dignity and compassion. We just had Dr Alexis about a month ago for our 21 3/4 year old cat Buffy and thought that Katie was depressed but she had cancer and declined rapidly. Dr Alexis came and again comforted us and assisted Katie to heaven. We cannot thank Dr Alexis enough for her care and understanding-she is truly doing God's work. As I used to say every night when my fur babies slept by my bed, goodnight Simon-goodnight Buffy-goodnight Katie-I Love You(from Susan) till we meet again
July 18 · patrick curranDr. Alexis was the most amazing, patient and compassionate vet I have ever met. My Doberman had wobblers syndrome which is a degenerative disease and he was only getting worse. My husband, my daughter and I knew it was time to let him go. None of us wanted to do it, but i am so thankful that when we did, we found this Angel 😇, Dr. Alexis. She is so wonderful and kind. You can tell this woman really loves our pets and my husband, my daughter and I are so grateful that we found her. Her sensitivity to the situation was incredible. My family was here and we were a hot mess, but Dr. Alexis gave us the time, privacy and space we needed to come to terms with what we were doing. She gave our dog the dignity he earned and deserved. He was such a kind, loyal and beautiful boy. I will forever be grateful to this angel on earth, Dr. Alexis.
August 02 · Kristy ProbeckDr. Alexis is one of the kindest, most compassionate human beings that I have ever met. I made the call to her after receiving devastating news about my furbaby. Through tears, I left a message for her to call me back as soon as she could. She had many messages, but called me back within a day. She and I made the dreaded appontment and she told me that if I needed her sooner to call her and she would do her best to rearrange her schedule to accomodate an emergency. The day came and when she arrived, she took the time to make Brady comfortable with her before beginning the process. We told her anecdotes about our life with Brady. He was made comfortable and stayed in his bed as i held him around and pet him until his last breath. When everything was done and Brady had crossed the bridge, he was carried out to her van in a cushioned basket and into a decorated niche within her van. It was a beautiful sendoff. I would highly recommend Comforted Companions to anyone needing this service
