Malibu Vet Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in California, finding a reliable and trustworthy veterinary clinic is a matter of paramount importance. Our pets are cherished members of the family, and their health and well-being are a top priority. Malibu Vet Clinic, an animal hospital located in the scenic community of Malibu, positions itself as a full-service provider of advanced veterinary care. This article offers a clear and factual overview of the clinic, designed to provide local users with the necessary information to make an informed decision about their pet's health. We will cover the clinic's location, the extensive list of services it offers, and key features, all while presenting a balanced view that includes both positive and negative public feedback.
Malibu Vet Clinic, also known as Malibu Veterinary Clinic, is an animal hospital that offers a wide range of medical treatments and services. The clinic is led by Dr. John Lupo, a veterinarian who has been a part of the Malibu community for many years. The clinic's own promotional materials and some customer reviews suggest a high level of care and a loving, dedicated staff. For instance, one customer review praises the clinic, stating they "trust dogs / children 100%" and that the team is "loving, reliable, responsible." This review highlights a strong sense of trust and compassion, particularly noting Dr. John Lupo as an "amazing veterinarian and a good person."
However, a second review raises a very serious and concerning allegation. This customer alleges that Dr. Lupo administered a drug called Librela for a dog's "torn acls," a condition the owner claims the dog did not have. The review states that the dog suffered severe side effects, including neurological issues and loss of mobility, leading to the dog's death 20 days later. The owner also claims that Dr. Lupo insisted there were "no side effects" to the drug and that he later offered a refund in exchange for a signed waiver not to sue and the removal of the review. The customer claims Dr. Lupo is facing charges of malpractice. This is a critical piece of public information that potential clients must consider, as it presents a stark contrast to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from other sources. As a factual content writer, it is essential to present both sides of this public data to provide a complete and honest picture.
Malibu Vet Clinic is conveniently located at 28990 CA-1 UNIT 103, Malibu, CA 90265, USA. This address places the clinic directly on California State Route 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway, a main artery of the California coast. This prime location makes it easily accessible for residents of Malibu and the surrounding communities, which is especially critical in emergency situations. The clinic’s positioning is a significant advantage for pet owners who need quick access to veterinary care.
Accessibility is a key priority for the clinic. It provides a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all clients, regardless of mobility, can visit the facility with ease. The clinic operates on an appointment-recommended basis, which helps to manage patient flow and allows the staff to prepare for each case with dedicated attention. While appointments are recommended, the clinic also advertises emergency services and house calls, highlighting their commitment to being available for pets in their time of need.
Malibu Vet Clinic offers an extensive list of services, positioning itself as a comprehensive animal hospital capable of handling a wide range of pet health needs. The services listed are designed to provide a full spectrum of care, from routine check-ups to advanced medical treatments. The following list provides an overview of their offerings:
- Advanced Dental Care: This includes services like professional teeth polishing, and other advanced dental procedures. The clinic also offers anesthesia-free dental cleaning.

- Specialized Treatments: The clinic provides advanced treatments such as Laser Therapy and Laser Treatment.
The wide array of services suggests that the clinic is equipped to handle everything from preventative care to complex surgical procedures, aiming to be a one-stop-shop for pet health.
Malibu Vet Clinic has several features and highlights that are intended to appeal to pet owners in the California region. These are based on a mix of the clinic's self-description and customer feedback, both positive and negative.
- Comprehensive Care: The clinic's wide range of services, from dental and grooming to surgery and radiology, makes it a full-service animal hospital.
- Emergency Availability: The clinic’s commitment to providing emergency services and house calls, as stated in its public information, is a significant benefit for pet owners.
- Compassionate Team: Positive reviews highlight the loving, reliable, and attentive nature of the team, with one customer noting that the staff is "careful and dedicated."
- Accessibility: The wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance make the clinic welcoming for all clients.
However, it is crucial to re-emphasize the allegations made in the public review. The claim that the vet insisted on a drug with severe side effects and then offered a waiver in exchange for removing a negative review is a serious red flag. The reviewer’s account of losing their pet and living with the guilt is a powerful piece of information that a potential client must take into consideration when evaluating the clinic's reliability and ethical practices.

When considering what is worth choosing about Malibu Vet Clinic, an Arizona resident must carefully weigh the presented information. On one hand, the clinic offers an extensive and convenient range of services, from routine grooming to advanced diagnostics and surgery. The positive reviews speak to a compassionate, caring staff and a veterinarian who some consider to be "amazing." For those seeking a one-stop-shop for their pet's health needs, this could be a compelling option, particularly with the added convenience of house calls and a central Malibu location.
On the other hand, the serious allegations of malpractice and a subsequent attempt to silence a negative review are of utmost concern. The detailed account of a dog's death following a specific treatment raises significant questions about the standard of care and professional ethics at the clinic. Such accusations, if substantiated, would be a decisive factor for any responsible pet owner. It is a stark reminder that while a business may present a polished image and have positive feedback, it is essential to consider all public information, especially when it involves the health and safety of a beloved family member. The contrast between the two reviews makes it clear that while some have had a positive experience, others have had a profoundly negative one. Ultimately, the decision to choose Malibu Vet Clinic should be made only after a thorough and personal investigation into these serious claims.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I only bring my dogs in Malibu Vet Clinic . And I live in Beverly Hills. Here you can trust your dogs / children 100%. Because dogs are our children. They are loving reliable , responsible . There's a lot of love in this clinic. Dr. John Lupo is an amazing veterinarian and a good person! The whole team is careful and dedicated. They are all very attentive! Thank you all for everything
August 14 · Luana CunhaMy dog died because of Lupo! He gave him the Librela shot insisting he was in pain from“Torn acls” (he NEVER had torn ACLs) and said there are “no side effects” and “he needs it”. Within 24hrs my dog lost mobility in his legs, neurological issues started immediately, anorexia, UTI, pancreatitis …ALL the literature on that drug says it’s not for dogs with underlying conditions or any other health issues present at the time the shot is given. Huck died in my arms 20 days later, BONES because the nerves in his entire body shut off bec of that drug.Lupo is getting charged with Malpractice. I also asked him for a refund (the LEAST he could do) and he said he wouldn’t unless I sign a waiver not to sue him and take down my reviews.I hope he gets shut down. He doesn’t deserve to have his license.*This review won’t allow me to post videos but the last 3 pics are from the days before I took Huck in. We were playing at the beach all day. The day before that we were hiking! HE DIDNT NEED THE SHOT! The guilt and pain losing him because of Lupo’s carelessness is something I have to live with for the rest of my life.Shame on him!
July 27 · kristin yslaThe best vet experience I've ever had. Doctor and staff are wonderful, very caring with our Savannahs. Prices are very fair. This is the only vet our cats will see from now on.
August 24 · Steven ConsylmanThank You to Dr. Lupo and His Team! For the past nine years, we’ve been through our fair share of Labrador life challenges, and Dr. Lupo has been my dog’s hero.Prince recently went in for a procedure to remove a tumor from his mouth and have his teeth cleaned. It was nerve-wracking, but I knew he was in the best hands. From the moment we walked in, they made sure I understood the procedure, answered all my questions, and kept me updated throughout the day.Prince came home comfortable and well taken care of, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
March 20 · super marioI really, really want to like this place. It is a nice facility and the staff is very kind, but there have been a lot of mistakes. When we first started going to this vet, they failed to record the vaccinations our dog was receiving, and I believe she might have ended up receiving the same vaccinations three times. She had gone in solely to receive the vaccinations twice, but after the third time, still no record. I had to call and they had to double-check with the staff that someone had indeed given her the injections that time. I was told to give my dog Afrin, which multiple other vets told me is toxic to dogs. The other day, I went to get allergy shots for my dogs. We discussed options, and I made it clear my dog has cancer and confirmed that the shot was not contraindicated with his chemo medicine, while they cleared that, they didn’t spend the time to see that the shot is indeed problematic with another medicine he takes (which is listed on his profile, I called to confirm after). The combination can cause ulcers and stomach bleeding. So I’m a little heartbroken as I don’t want to speak negatively of this place, but I feel like it is important as their lack of attention to detail could be harming my pets.
